The Holistic Doctor Is In!

As you all know, Future Husband, his parents, and I have been diligently working for more than six-months to launch an online supplement superstore. www.TheHolisticDoctorIsIn.com is an extension of his father’s (Dr. Cushing) holistic clinic, which Future Husband manages part-time.

More than just an supplement superstore, www.TheHolisticDoctorIsIn.com was created by Dr. Cushing to provide the same one-on-one service you’d experience at his clinic.  www.TheHolisticDoctorIsIn.com serves as your virtual holistic house call, providing clear direction to achieve optimal health.  We offer a wide array of products, services, and valuable health-related information.

In addition to our wide variety of premium supplements, we offer doctor-prescribed supplements that are only available through a licensed health care professionals.   These include Chinese herbs, homeopathic remedies, herbal tinctures, and hard-to-find nutraceuticals.  These products are natural, clinically tested, and high quality.

Our core belief is that quality health care starts with a sound doctor-patient relationship, and the cornerstone of this relationship is consistently compassionate treatment.  We are committed to approaching health care from a total perspective, incorporating the mind, body, and spirit.

Because many of the products we offer are doctor-prescribed supplements, you must register to view all the products.  It’s a simple (and free) process.  You can register here.

Products YOU May Be Interested In

Here’s several products I’ve mentioned throughout the blog that I think you may be interested in (again, registration is required to purchase most of these products):

Glucosamine Synergy

Glucosamine Synergy® (90c)

The bones, joints, and supportive connective tissue are living tissues that remain in a constant state of renewal and restoration. Glucosamine Synergy is a unique blend of glucosamine sulfate, Boswellia serrata extract, manganese, carbamide, and Protomorphogen™ and Cytosol™ extracts to support and maintain healthy bones and joints.  This product worked WONDERS on my runner’s knee!

ChondroCare

ChondroCare® (120T, 240T)

I started to take this supplement in mid-October and wrote about it in this post.  ChondroCare is useful for patients suffering knee, leg, and hip pain from high-impact sports, such as running.  It supports healthy joint function and connective tissue. ChondroCare features glucosamine and chondriotin and MSM for healthy cartilage.   It is a natural support for connective tissue.

Stevia

NuStevia™ Quick Dissolve Tabs™ (150t, 300t)

My personal sweetener of choice.  I love Stevia – and its all natural!  Stevia is a perennial shrub of the aster family (Asteraceae), native to the northern regions of South America. It is now being grown in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Central America, the United States, Israel, Thailand and China. Great care must be taken during production of Stevia extract to produce a high quality sweetener extract.  In addition to regular Stevia (these are tablets, not drops), we also have flavored Stevia in drop form, including Cinnamon and Vanilla flavors!

Check out our full line of natural sweeteners!

Calcium Lactate

Calcium Lactate (90t/330t/800t)

We have many calcium supplements available, but this is my favoriteCalcium Lactate by Standard Process is very high quality.  It also contains the proper balance of calcium and magnesium (5:1 ratio), which speeds absorption.

ImmunPlex™ Undenatured Whey Protein

ImmunPlex™ Undenatured Whey Protein (306g)

This is my FAVORITE protein powder because it is so low calorie and contains NO artificial sweeteners (like Muscle Milk).  Each scoop of ImmunPlex™ Undenatured Whey Protein contains 9 grams of protein and only 30 calories.  ImmunPlex™ Undenatured Whey Protein is an undenatured whey protein isolate that contains many proteins, peptides, and other key nutrients that promotes enhanced immune function and energy, comforts muscle and joints, and supports the elimination of toxic metals.

Those are just a few of the supplements I personally use, but I’ll continue to share more that I think would be of interest to active, health-minded individuals in the very near future!

Search By Syndrome

I wanted to add that our search by syndrome tool is also useful for clients who already know their diagnosis.  We offer specific supplement regimens you can take if you know your diagnosis.  Prior to endorsing any product, Dr. Cushing draws on his decades of clinical experience, extensive education, and in-depth understanding of the complex relationship between the health of the mind, body, and spirit.

Examples of syndromes you can look up via the search by syndrome tool include (again, registration is required to purchase most of these products):

  • Acne
  • Anorexia
  • Anxiety/Stress
  • Asthma
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Eczema
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migrane Syndrome
  • PMS

    Awesome!!!!!!!!

  • Olivia December 11, 2008, 12:34 pm

hey caitlin! first of all i have to say i love your blog! second, i have a question for you regarding the supplements. i used to run A LOT but i have had 3 stress fractures so i have had to cut back. i’m taking calcium and vitamin D to build up bone strength but i would really like to try the glucosamine or chrondocare. do you take both at the same time or just one?

  • Caitlin December 11, 2008, 12:50 pm

olivia – sorry about your stress fractures 🙁 those suck!

well, the chondrocare contains the same amount of glucosamine as the plain old glucosamine has, so i wouldn’t “double up” on both. you can take the chondrocare and get all the glucosamine you need (1500 mg) plus loads of other helpful stuff for your joints, like MSM (methylsulfonyl methane) and
    Chondroitin Sulfate.

MSM (methylsulfonyl methane) supports healthy connective tissues like tendons, ligaments, and muscle. People taking MSM may notice additional benefits such as softer skin, harder nails, and thicker hair (yayyyy!).

Glucosamine Sulfate increases the strength and flexibility of the cartilage in your joints. It works by stimulating the production of a very important structure in your cartilage called the Glycosamine Glycans ( GAG). Your GAG acts as a nutrient base for the growth of your cartilage, thereby increase the production of your cartilage over time.

Chondroitin Sulfate is an important structural component of cartilage and provides much of its resistance to compression. It prevents other body enzymes from degrading the building blocks of joint cartilage.
