My appetite has been off the charts today — I think because I had another 5 AM wake-up call. I’m trying to pace myself! :) I snacked on cherries:

And had a piece of bread with hummus, veggie soup, and more yummy almonds from Sahale Snacks for lunch.

Mmm… my fav!

The PB&J flavor was surprisingly delicious!

Today I am puppysitting Meghann’s new baby girl, Maddie. I asked if I could watch her because 1) I’m obsessed with dogs and 2) I didn’t want her to be all alone on her first day!

She sat in my lap all morning (excuse the wet hair and no make-up; I work from home!).

And then I transferred her the seat next to me, where I always let Maggie sit.

Maggie looks ginormous next to little Maddie! Maddie in only 7 pounds. 🙂

Maggie doesn’t really like Maddie yet — well, they played together for a while but Maggie is concerned that Maddie is OUR new puppy, I think. And we all know Maggie rules the roost.

James isn’t too sure of her either. I think he can’t decide if she’s a dog or a toy.

She is SO well-behaved. Meghann really picked out a good puppy. No barking, no accidents.

Losing Abbie on Saturday night was really rough on Meghann, but it was extremely sad for me, too. Every time I think about Abbie (even right now!), I tear up. She was a really, really great dog and I loved playing with her and having her over.

I’m SO happy Meghann went out and got Maddie — I would’ve done the exact same thing if I lost Maggie or James, too. There is a whole world of puppies who need good, happy homes! Plus, pets make us complete.

I think Maddie is just the ticket to mend Meghann’s broken heart. Isn’t she the cutest little thing?

Maddie is so, so cute. She reminds me of the Jack Russell we had growing up, Toby. He was so much fun. Jacks are such good dogs. Hopefully Maggie and James will warm up to her!

You know that any puppy pics will result in massive comments on cuteness, right? Count me in…

It's hard to decide when you're ready for another pet after a loss. It's so individual. I'm glad Meghann was able to open her heart again so soon to that little cutie!

You are a great friend to puppy-sit the new furbaby!! I agree that pets complete us….I could not imagine ever living without at least one dog in the house (even if they shed all over the place!!)

i agree about giving more pets happy homes and that they help heal our hearts. my family got a new puppy less than a week after we had to put our last one down. It's just not the same! And pets don't replace the last one, but they still give you joy.

Every Tuesday afternoon needs puppy pictures!!

My puppy is no where near as good as Maddie. She barks, whines, sheds, and does sneaky ear-licking attacks! But I love her anyway and I'm glad to know that Meghann will have someone waiting for her to come home again!

Aww maddie is SO, SO adorable!!! We had two bigger dogs (one around 60 lbs, and one was 35 or so) and we brought home a 4 lb lhaso apso poodle. they definately thought he was a squeaky toy 🙂

and i can definately agree with the fact that pets complete me as well. Quite honestly, i like all dogs more than i like most people. SO horrible to say, but its the truth!

When I have really long days I always break my meals up into lots of mini meals to help me get through the day.

That has to be the CALMEST Jack Russel ever! or even the calmest terrier ever. When my Westie was a pup, he NEVER would have sat on my lap for that long – and forget about sharing a bed with another dog 🙂 Way to go Meghann on picking a sweetie.

Aw, 7 pounds is so little!

I'm such a big flax fan recently, especially when it's flaxseed, not just the oil. A lot of people don't know it, but flaxseed has a lot of protein and has been shown to help endurance athletes' bodies burn fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates!

Aww you are such a sweet friend for offering to take care of Maddie on her first day.

My parents just got a little pup and our dog Sammy, isn't too sure about his new uncle either. It's so funny to see them together too (Sammy is a 10 lb Chiuaia and Benny, my parent's puppy, is a 2lb chiuaia. Sammy looks GIGANTIC next to Benny!)
