Liquid Breakfast

in All Posts

Good morning, lovelies.  I have the Tuesday blues.  :(  Where did all of my positivity from yesterday go!?  Must get it back!

I woke up craving a liquid breakfast:

I made a smoothie using my favorite natural protein powder, ImmunPlex.  No weird artificial sweeteners or flavors in this mix!

In my smoothie went:

  • Two scoops of ImmunPlex
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of skim milk

And I had a slice of toast with Barney Butter on the side.

Operation Beautiful

There are some great notes up today!  Here is my favorite:

Jessica wrote, "I saw Operation Beautiful a few weeks ago, and decided to join. I posted this note, in a booth at a restaurant near my house. I walked in a few days ago, and noticed that someone else had written a note, and placed it beside mine. It made me smile, knowing that someone hadn’t ripped it down!"

Are you sitting at your desk?  Got Post-It’s nearby?  Well, what are you waiting for?!  Post an Operation Beautiful note, take a picture, and e-mail it to me at seebriderun@gmail.com.  Spread the love!

It sound like you have the Monday blues on a Tuesday. Hope your day is better than you anticipate.

I love liquid breakfasts sometimes! 😀 Especially if I have something to chew on the side too. 😉

I need to pick up some post-it notes…I think we could use some operation beautiful where I live. 🙂

No blues! Maybe it's your body adjusting to the extra mileage?

I'm a little late on the long-run exhaustion question, but I think it comes from not having done it a lot yet. No matter how good a shape you are in, running that long requires a different kind of fitness and can even be mentally draining.

My guess is you'll feel much more energetic after your runs in a few weeks!

Hope your tuesday gets better. A few people here at the office were saying the same thing this morning about feeling just kind of blah. Maybe its because summer is coming to an end soon! Going to post some notes in our onsite gym this afternoon. Enjoy the day!

This is a really great post and I am sorry that I didn't get to comment on it yesterday! As a veggie marathoner, I had very similar experiences when I was first building up mileage. My number one suggestion is to take a daily B12 vitamin. It made a HUGE difference; I was cranky, irritable, tired, etc., and seriously, B12 cured it (just make sure it is suitable for vegetarians). My other suggestion is to respect rest days– no other 'working out' activities on your rest days since your #1 fitness goal is to marathon train. After over a year of mid-to-high mileage weeks, after a 15 miler, I feel like I ran a 6 miler. It will come! (Oh yes, and more sleep at night is a MUST!). Best of luck!!!!
