This morning for breakfast, I knew I had to have some PANCAKES!

My pancake intake has been wayyyy too low lately. :)   I just love the Hodgson’s Mills Insta Bake whole wheat  pancake mix — the pancakes come out so light and fluffy.

Plus, maple syrup and fruit:

Operation Beautiful

Check out Wednesday’s notes on Operation Beautiful.  Today’s notes include one all the way from Spain!

Vanessa wrote, "I send you a note that I left in the fitting rooms in Primark in Madrid. It says "Smile! Because you´re worth it"  Just after I left, a woman came cleaning the place and I thought that would be the end of it, but later I saw that the note was still there!"

i had pancakes today, too! I think I need to have them more often 🙂 that alone might get me out of bed earlier!

I'm going to have to try those pancakes! It's tough to make them from scratch all the time due to time contraints. Thanks for the idea 🙂

Caitlin I just wanted to say that you're truly inspiring. I also work two jobs (though it only works out to about 50 hours per week) and I often skip workouts because I'd rather spend time with friends or just because I'm absolutely exhausted and the thought of working out makes me a little nausous. You're motivation to workout is amazing to see and read about everyday.

However, how do you keep your motivation up? I use to be really good about making myself go to the gym after work but lately I've just had reason after reason not to go (I've been sick, I have to do laundry otherwise I'll have no clean clothes…and it goes on). I need a good kick in the a** to get me going again!

Sarah – You are so sweet. I guess the answer to your question is two fold: first, you need to look at how you can make your schedule work better for you, and two, you need to find motivation.

Trust me, I'm not perfect about work outs AT ALL. One thing that has really helped me though is realizing that SOMETHING is better than NOTHING. My 10 minute strength routinue made a HUGE difference in my muscle tone and it only required me to wake up slightly earlier in the AM.

If you are having trouble with the evening workouts, is there a way you can squeeze in morning workouts? if your schedule isn't working for you, CHANGE IT! Or, instead of going all the way to the gym, could you do workout DVDs at home (30 day shred is great)?

ok, onto the issue of motivation. i think signing up for races really helps me stay motivated. i don't know if you're a running, but it really helps to put a deadline on your workouts. like, last night i was sooo tempted to blow off my run, but i was like, holy hell i have to run a marathon in 5.5 months, i NEED to run!

also, i do a trick where i do not allow myself to start getting distracted. when i come home from work, i immediately go to my bedroom, change, and turn around and leave. i don't check email, i don't turn on the TV, nothing. if i start to get distracted, it's ALL OVER.

    i hope that helps!

I love your heart shaped bowl! And of course, I am a huge fan of starting the day with pancakes. 🙂

  • Sarah July 8, 2009, 8:02 am

    Good luck with the auction!
    I wish I could bid, but I can't go 🙁

  • Sarah (Running To Slow Things Down) July 8, 2009, 8:07 am

Love your heart syrup bowl…too cute!

And I agree…there aren't enough pancakes in my life either. Hehe…:)

  • Matt July 8, 2009, 8:34 am

My pancake intake has been pretty low too! I better whip some up tonight!

  • Joelle (The Pancake Girl) July 8, 2009, 5:46 pm

    YUM, loving those pancakes!!

  • roseyrebecca July 8, 2009, 8:43 pm

I always make pancakes from scratch but maybe I'll have to try that mix! It looks good and it's probably a lot easier! 🙂
