Rainy Run

in All Posts

Today was my first attempt at taping my own knees:

CIMG6385

Let me tell you, it was a mission and a half to tape my own knees!  I think it took four tries and the right side was definitely taped better than the left (I could tell on my run).

It was pouring during my run! I love to run in the rain.  It makes me so happy!

I did another 5K and concentrated on my speed.  I worked in four speed sprints at about a 9:00-minute mile pace (haha, this is speed work for me right now!) and did the rest at about 10:00-minute mile pace.

  • Duration: 29 minutes
  • Distance: 5K (3.1 miles)

Of course, I also did the Physical Therapy exercises and stretches.

Here are the afternoon and evening eats… I had melon around 2:

A mini-pita with PB and maple syrup around 3;30:

And a few apricots a bit later.  Boredom snacking:

Dinner was nice and simple.  It’s pouring outside again and I just wanted something warm and comforting:

Just vegetable soup, a slice of WW bread with cheese, and grapes.  Another slice of bread popped into my mouth during the microwaving process. 🙂

Don’t forget:

  • irunisweat June 23, 2009, 5:35 pm

I totally love running in the rain too! The only "minus" is the humidity in Pittsburgh!

Hooray for running! I'm sure you'll get better at taping as you continue to do it. I think running in a hat is essential when it's raining. I hate the rain in my eyes! What kind of ipod case do you use? I'm always afraid mine will get wet if I bring it along on a rainy run.

I bet it's tricky to tape your own knees! Good for you for sticking with it! Nice 5K! I love bread and cheese too! yum!

Aren't rainy runs the best? I always have a hard time motivating myself to get out there but once I am, I *love* being wet and running through all the puddles. haha…

i'm sure you'll be a pro at taping after a few more tries. yay for getting to run though, even with the not so great weather! i think i'd run through snow now if it meant i could run!
