I think I’m going to have a Fruit Food Baby

My first mid-afternoon snack was the usual:

Chobani + cereal.

But then I got suckered into these fresh fruits sitting in my fridge:

Plus quite a few more slices of watermelon.  My tummy hurt so much after all of that fruit!  It was so good, but so bad.  🙂

I grabbed a PB bagel on my way to the night shift:

And when I came home at 9:00, I was hungry and wanted something to eat, but I didn’t want 1) more bread or 2) more fruit.  I settled on a Amazing Grass smoothie made with unsweet almond breeze.

I must admit that I am SO impressed with Amazing Grass that I’m going to buy my own supply when my free samples run out.  I love that I can get a serving (or two) of veggies in a glass WITHOUT breaking out my blender.  It makes it so easy to be healthy!

Motivational Quote of the Evening!

The drive home from work was a real exercise in positive thinking.  So many of you have commented that you don’t know how I’m maintaining a cheerful attitude with this hellish work schedule.  Obviously, sometimes it upsets me a lot… like on my bumper-to-bumper drive back home tonight.  But whenever I catch myself being negative, I list all the reasons WHY I am doing this.  I also remind myself that I’ve survived worse work situations.  AND I recall that the ends justify the means.

A man is what he thinks about all day long (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

I find myself with a fruit food baby so much! I can never stop myself around fruit 😀

Your attitude towards being positive is very great! I hope to change mine to be more like that!

Ooo fresh fruit is my kryptonite too!! Pineapples and strawberries are especially hard for me to not overdo when I see them 😉

You are such a wonderful example of staying positive, yet still realistic through real life situations. Thanks for that quote and thoughtfulness!

I haven’t had any watermelon yet this summer, I am so jealous of your fruit food baby! Great positive thinking advice. I will file it away in the memory banks for a rainy day.

I could eat watermelon until I died of watermelon overdose. I miss the summer fruits in the state..it’s winter here..tons of apples. But man there’s nothing better than a fabulous watermelon.

Yummy fruit! I’m so happy for summer fruit season. I can’t wait for peaches.
    I love your leaf bowl.

Mmmm, watermelon. My husband HATES everything about melon, so I very rarely have it around.

Hang in there with the second job….I just quit mine. There were a few times I cried on my way home – it was draining.

Yummmm! This definately made me want to load my body up with fresh fruit tomorrow. I’ve been eating so many s’mores and fast food items (it’s summer for me!) that I think my body needs a break…and hopefully I’ll love the way it makes me feel so much that I’ll keep eating fresh, healthy foods!

    Love that quote!

I would love to try the amazing grass…I do love that you don’t have to break out the blender. Sometimes it can be a pain to keep on cleaning!!

One could get stuffed on a whole lot of things much worse than fresh fruit! Don’t feel too bad.

I contacted Amazing Grass after I saw that you were reviewing it, and they’re going to send me some stuff to review. I can’t wait, I love how this kind of stuff energizes me. So glad I saw it on your blog!

Hey Caitlin! Random question: How do those chocolate amazing grass mixes taste? Are they chalky? Does it taste pretty chocolatey or mostly like grass? Thanks!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point May 27, 2009, 6:13 am

ally – they good, but they do taste like grass with chocolate, not chocolate with grass. dont expect a candy bar! i have trouble determining what is “chalky” because i kind of like chalky taste. i bet you can get them to send you a sample 🙂

I love that Emerson quote, its one of my favorites — I try to tell my friend (who is depressed) that one so its good to see someone who gets it. I took a stress management class once and she always said to use traffic as as excuse to take a few more deep breaths and relax 🙂
