Apple Blossom Festival

in All Posts

My friends, I am taking off for a wonderful weekend in Virginia!  Specifically, I’m headed to the 82nd Annual Apple Blossom Festival!

Apple Blossom Festival is quickly becoming a tradition among my college girlfriends.  It’s served as our "college reunion" for the last three years.

It all started in 2007…

That year set the stage for a silly weekend filled with lots of beer

And parade watching

And crashing random dudes’ house parties and making friends with their cute doggies…

The 2008 Apple Blossom Festival was JUST as fun!

There was the obligatory beer-drinking….

And carnival crashing….

DSCN6172

And turkey frying

DSCN6196

And karaoke dueling (I won)…

Oh, and funnel cake-eating (for breakfast – seriously)…

Basically, Apple Blossom RULES!

I hope you understand that I will not be blogging again until Sunday night.  However, the awesome recap will certainly be worth the wait!  My game plan is to relax, enjoy myself, and pretend like I’m in college again.  Oh, and I’ll try not to consume 1,000,000 calories in two days, but it’s highly likely that I will! 🙂 Baw-haha!

HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE WEEKEND!

Have a wonderful weekend with your friends! Last year I went back to visit my college campus for a mini-reunion and it was so much fun to relive those days! Plenty of beer and dance parties at night, relaxation and good conversation during the day 🙂

yay for VA! I am currently living in Richmond, but moving back to Northern VA next week! I’ve never been to the apple blossom festival, probably because its around the same time as final exams! I will have to keep this in mind next year when I’m living back in Northern Virginia!

this post exemplifies why i love your blog. you are not afraid to go out once in awhile and have a good time, eat some junk, and party!

other bloggers can be so uptight and it’s boring.. your blog is never boring!

  • Nate May 1, 2009, 7:01 pm

What? No drogging? Boo on that. Have fun.

  • theskinnyplate May 1, 2009, 8:57 pm

    Awesome!! Have a great weekend.

  • Jessica May 2, 2009, 2:41 am

I agree with Meg C. This is so refreshing to see. Sometimes I feel like no one likes to have fun around here, although I’m sure that’s not true. It’s just important that we realize healthy eating and fitness are positive things but there’s nothing wrong with having a good party now and then.

I’m going on a big May Long Weekend camping trip in a couple weeks and I have the exact same attitude – a couple of days where I could care less about calories and can drink my face off.

I am planning to sneak in a 16k run though ;). But that’s because I love running in the mountains.

  • completelydelicious May 2, 2009, 4:31 am
