Evening!  Guess what?? I convinced the Husband to ‘shred’ with me tonight! 🙂

But first….

My last mid-afternoon snack was a little bowl of Grape Nuts.  Honestly, this was pure emotional eating.  I was having a bad Monday, and I think the gravity of Meghann’s situation totally sunk in.  Sometimes, we all just need a little cereal in our lives!

After work, I happily set off on my 5K run.  At first, I was RELISHING the sunlight (I heart daylight savings!), but then I realized that it was the first truly HOT day in Florida.  Northerners groan and moan about running in the winter months, but trust me — running in summertime in Florida is just as painful.  It’s little TORTURE – so humid and sweaty.

I was tempted to walk, but I have to retrain myself to run in the heat.  A lot of it is MENTAL.  (I’m not talking about running in the sun until I blackout from heat stroke.)  So, I struggled forward and finished strong!

  • Duration: 29 minutes (5K)
  • Calories Burned: 240 (estimate)

After my run, I came home and asked the Husband to "Shred" with me.  I was SO PLEASED when he agreed!  Check out the "30 Day Shred" widget on the right hand side of the blog for a full recap.

Dinner was simple and super quick.

1.5 serving of WW cous cous, 1/2 cup of pinto beans, and steamed broc and cauliflower.   This seriously took me 5 minutes to make — I LOVE IT!

Time to relax.  Have a WONDERFUL evening.

I love having a workout partner!
I’ve been feeling the cereal lately too. I’m super stressed and cereal is the only thing my tummy can handle!

Even though some may think we never really get that hot up here in ND, we do. In fact, July/August is brutal warm, with horrendous humidity. Thus, I have been given the opportunity to run in all sorts of weather, and would have to agree with you! I would rather run in 15 degree weather than 90 degree weather, hands down. 🙂

I had my mom shred with me once, it was too funny!

i think you are right about running in the humidity/heat vs. running in the cold. i honestly don’t know what’s worse! i may have complained this winter about running in the bitter cold air but i know i’ll complain just as much (maybe more) this summer when it’s humid and sticky. why can’t we just have a really long fall and spring?!
good for you for sticking it out 🙂

I definitely feel for you running in the Florida heat. I had to wake up so early last year to run in South Beach while I visited my bro and his wife. They were amazed I’d get up just to do that but it was the only time I knew I could do it!

I’ve been very craving carbs a lot lately. Not always cereal but lots of granola!

I’ve been trying to convince my husband to shred with me but he has yet to give in. I think he’s just scared! 🙂

Ugh, I hate heat-running too. As much as I complain about the cold, I’m really dreading having to acclimate to summer running. (This past weekend’s 70-degree temps nearly killed me!) So long story short, I sympathize!

  • Fancy March 9, 2009, 6:44 pm

I bought “Shred” today and came right home to do it (Level 1)! It was hard…but I feel good:)

I couldn’t wait to tell you!

HA…my little lovey “shredded” with me today too. I hope the hubs didn’t use purple 1 lb. dumbbells, though.

You are hot hot hot. Especially in that new IT work picture…
