Can’t…. Stop… Eating!

in All Posts

I literally cannot stop eating, and I really don’t care! Not only am I refueling from the 12.4 miles I ran this morning, but I’ve got a Half Marathon to carb load for (ohmigod, back-to-back-to-back races are a-mazing!).

Following the 2 pounds of Chinese food and 2 glasses of wine for lunch, I munched on fruit and a blondie

CIMG2451

Plus another 1/2 a blondie.

Meghann, Derek, and I made personal pizzas for dinner, which was an awesome idea because we could both control our toppings.

CIMG2452

I had Cheddar cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes.  Yum!

CIMG2453

I couldn’t really eat it all though!!  I had a little more than 3/4.

What are your favorite pizza toppings? Mine are definitely pepperoni, pineapple, and loads of cheese! 🙂

Dessert…. Girl Scout Cookies, which I totally got suckered into purchasing at the grocery store by a cute little Girl Scout (seriously, I cannot say no to an 8 year old!).

CIMG2456

Plus a few more!!

So, I’m trying to massively hydrate and stretch.  I’m excited for the Half Marathon tomorrow, but I’m nervous, too.  They are calling for rain. :(  I hope it doesn’t pour!  The start time is at 6:00 AM (ahhh) — can you believe that?

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY RUNNING IN THE RAIN TIPS?? Ahh!

Have a great night!

So here is one of my running in the rain tips: waiting at the start is usually the worst part, so take a garbage bag and cut slits for your arms to go thru and for your head; wear that until the gun goes off. I swear it works, I am not joking! It’s like a disposable rain jacket that will keep you dry until you get going. I’ve even seen people run with it on, it’s light and dryproof! Good luck tomorrow, you did amazing today!

  • Amanda (Two Boos Who Eat) February 28, 2009, 7:03 pm

    That pizza looks good!

Good luck tomorrow! I’m crossing my fingers for no rain or light rain!

  • Ryan (chasing daylight) February 28, 2009, 7:04 pm

Good luck tomorrow! I’ve run in the rain A LOT! I would just avoid cotton clothes because they’ll get soggy and uncomfortable if you’re running 13+ miles. Otherwise, just do everything the same. It’s really not that bad. It can be pretty fun once you get going. 🙂

  • Kailey (SnackFace) February 28, 2009, 7:13 pm

Ahh, I just caught up- CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You are freakin’ amazing, woman! shooo. I’d be eating nonstop too! Hmm, fave pizza toppings are very simple: fresh mozz, basil, tomato, light thin crust. Good luck with the last race tomorrow!

  • Mat February 28, 2009, 7:23 pm

My favorite toppings are candian bacon, pineapple, and loads of cheese!

    Good luck tomorrow!

  • Meg February 28, 2009, 7:36 pm

I hope it doesn’t rain! Good luck! I love pineapple on my pizza.

For running in the rain; the only thing I can think of is a hat with a brim. It helps so much to keep the rain out of the eyes. I don’t know if you have anything packed like that with you but it’s what I used the few times I ran and it worked! Plus, I liked to look at the raindrops dripping off the brim and try to catch them with my tongue. Never works but keeps my mind occupied. 🙂

Maybe after your races or sometime in the fututure you could post about hip stretches? I know tight hips contribute to knee poroblems but I am not sure how to stretch them.

Cheddar on pizza is a must! Good call on the personal pizzas!

  • Meg February 28, 2009, 7:45 pm

  • Dori February 28, 2009, 8:54 pm

  • Mica February 28, 2009, 8:58 pm

I really enjoy running in the rain, but maybe just think about things that could chafe when wet–like sports bras or socks. It could irritating over 13 miles…

    GOOD LUCK!

  • Vegan On Stage February 28, 2009, 9:26 pm

    wow….

you really are an inspiration to me I SWEAR!!! I just started running.. and i’ve been running about 4 miles a day. I can get to 4.5 on some days… but im finding it enjoyable now rather than a chore…

  • talesofexpansion February 28, 2009, 10:32 pm

you’ll be great tomorrow!! seriously, you guys have amazing stamina. don’t be afraid of the rain!

  • Breadcrumb Runner February 28, 2009, 10:37 pm

As for running in the rain, I say have fun with it! Sometimes it helps to wear a visor of some sort if the rain is coming down hard to keep it from making it impossible to see where you’re going.

Also, I’d advise against wearing cotton clothing. Instead, it’d probably be better to wear wicking or water-resistant fabric, like Under Armor or an outer wind-breaker jacket.

Woot woot, can’t wait to hear about how tomorrow goes! 😀

  • Emily February 28, 2009, 10:56 pm

    good luck tomorrow!
i just made pizza last week, and it was so good!

  • sweetandfit February 28, 2009, 11:10 pm

  • Leah February 28, 2009, 11:17 pm

haha I don’t doube that you are super hungry! Gosh, 3 races in one weekend- that is superhuman!

Running in the rain… I always wear a hat.. like a ball cap, if its raining to keep the rain out of my face so I can SEE!

    Hope it doesn’t rain!!!
    GOOD LUCK!

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) February 28, 2009, 11:23 pm

I was going to say “hat” regarding the rain running tip too.

I got one, awesome umbrella hat. You know what I’m talking about. It would look bitchin with your running skirt.

  • ChickPea March 1, 2009, 12:00 am

Yum! GS cookies and pizza? Tasty post, for sure. My fave pizza toppings have to include mushrooms and pineapple.

  • erinbee March 1, 2009, 1:10 am

    from illinois though.]

  • Red Head, Yellow Dog March 1, 2009, 6:04 am

6 AM is insanely early!! My best advice for running in the rain is to wear a baseball cap to keep the rain out of your face. of course my advice is useless to you at this point because you’ve already finished your race so…YAY CONGRATS YOU MADE IT!

  • Brandi March 1, 2009, 6:24 am

    good luck!!!!

I would just say make sure to wear your hat – i ran in the rain a few months ago for a race, and water was all in my eyes/contacts and it was not fun.

  • Justine March 1, 2009, 7:15 am

Just wanted to say Congrats on your races yesterday! Awesome job meeting and beating your goals! By this time you should be done with the half marathon…hope it all went well!
