Bye, Bye Future Husband

in All Posts

Back at our house… and Future Hus and his friends are frantically packing their suitcases for their Bachelor Party Extravaganza in Key West!  I hope they have fun, but I’m realllllly going to miss Future Husband (he comes back on Tuesday).

So, Christmas 2008 was very fun!  Even on my proclaimed "no splurge day"…  I still managed to eat like four cookies and some dessert, but I did keep the booze to a minimum. It’s really difficult for me not to snack on sweets when it’s right in my face, which is why I never have candy in the house!!

For special occasions like a holiday, it’s fine to relax on healthy eating and just ENJOY myself.  I simply try to never splurge to the point of guilt.

But overall — I had a wonderful holiday and loved spending time with our families. 🙂

Our Christmas dinner (post-oven disaster)…

Stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey, green bean casserole, broc and cheese, roasted potatoes… I ate about 2/3.

British people have a traditional of opening little gift boxes called "Crackers," which contained cute little toys (like a Cracker Jack toy) and paper hats.

It’s funny to look around and watch every eat with paper hats on their heads!

Some dessert…  including English Christmas pudding and some apple pie.  I tried the English Christmas pudding and didn’t like it, and just picked at the pie.

A black coffee and an After Eight mint.

Since I was in charge of washing the dishes, I let James lick the dirty dishes (cue the "eww" from the dog-haters!).

Good night, sleep tight!

I figured the band wasn't tight enough, but I made it as small as it will go. You will have to help me how to jimmy it tighter.

haha yes I would love to see Twilight again 🙂 I also want to see Marley & Me! I think you would like that movie too!

I also at like 4 cookies tonight and I don’t even celebrate Christmas!

    What is the pudding, exactly?

Ha – our dogs always get into the dishwasher too. Cute family pics, and my Christmas dinner plate looked almost exactly like your’s. It’s the only time of year I eat green bean casserole. So tasty!

Glad you had a good holiday and enjoyed the time with your family. Wishing the future husband safe travels!
