Dog Walker

in All Posts

I had my first shift at the doggie kennel and it was so much fun!  Basically, I got to walk dogs for and hour and a half, and then I fed everyone, gave them water, and put them all to bed. 🙂

AND best part of all — I got to walk FOUR DACHSHUNDS! They were all so sweet and cute.  One bit my tennis shoe, but that was the only weird thing that happened.  :)  I love this job already!

Before work (around 4:00 PM), I went for a 4.0 mile run.  My HRM is still broken, so I had no idea what my time was — but I’d guess it was 40 minutes, and I probably burned around 300 calories.

When I came back, I went to the grocery store for the SECOND time today (ahh it was crazy), and on the way back, I ate the butt of loaf of French bread…. while driving!

And then I came home and ate 1 cup of Grape Nuts and 1 cup of NF plain yogurt….. as a result, I didn’t really need to eat dinner.  My snack was GINORMOUS!

Yes… tupperware.  Too lazy to do the dishes!  And a glass of OJ.

After my shift at the kennel (which ended at 10), I made a small cheese sammie with some grapes!

And now I need to go to bed!  My day is going to be rammed.  A nine miler might not happen tomorrow, but I want to at least get in a long run.  🙂

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Be safe on your travels!

That sounds like such a fun job for a dog-lover!

I remember volunteering at the Humane Society a few years ago…with no experience with animals, and let me tell you, it was a disaster! I let a few dogs loose by accident, lol.

    Happy Turkey Day!

Oh my goodness…best job ever! Whenever I drive past the local dog shelter I always think “I really should volunteer to help pet and walk the kitties and doggies” but it would interfere with my other volunteer work, so I can’t do it 🙁

Glad you had fun at your new job!

Aw, dog walking seems like the perfect job! Exercise and cute pups…what more could you ask for?!

Sorry to hear about your HRM! I’m putting one on my birthday/Christmas list…they’re so expensive I can’t imagine if it broke! I hope you can get it fixed!

    Have fun cooking tomorrow!
