She’s Bringing Sexy Back

Don’t you wish your abs looked like this:

Maggie needs to do more sit-ups. Seriously.

Sorry, I’m in a weird mood. Maybe work is slowly making me go crazy? Who knows! I am looking forward to unwinding at yoga tonight... hip-hip-hoooray!

Around 9:30, I had the usual…. a Z-Bar.  I caught Future Husband shoving TWO of my precious Z-Bars in his mouth for breakfast.

DSCN0001

Underneath the Z-Bar is the looooooooooong list of wedding-related errands I need to run this weekend.  BLETCH!

I also had a pear around 11:00 because I was starvin’ and I knew I couldn’t wait until lunchtime to eat.

DSCN0002

For lunch, I had whole wheat pasta with tomato-basil sauce and Morning Star Meal Starter faux crumbled meat

DSCN0004

Morning Star Meal Starter is such a great meat sub…. it requires no prep time (you just have to heat it) and it tastes divine.

DSCN0006

And I had a side salad with cucumber and carrots….

DSCN0008

And…. I’ll admit it… a M&M funsize pack jumped into my mouth after lunch.  I can’t wait to give these things away to trick or treat-ers.  They need to get OUT OF MY HOUSE!

And, around 1 PM, I had mid-morning snack #1…. yogurt and granola.  I had a smaller portion them usual, only because we are now out of granola. 🙁

DSCN0009

If you had to live off one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I could seriously eat yogurt + granola for every meal.  In fact, I’d guess I have eaten this delish combo 6.75 days out of the week on average for the last two years!

Sushi!!! I guess that doesn’t really count because it’s technically sice, seaweed and fish, but still… sushi!!! If it had to be one single food though it would be apples. I could bake them, eat them raw, puree them, dry them, make them into chips… oh my the list goes on!

  • Sharney October 30, 2008, 11:11 am

Another cute Maggie picture! I love seeing your dogs- they make me smile 🙂

I personally love bread and yogurt (can I pick two?!?!)I could live off of those two foods for sure (fyi, not combined!!)

  • Sharney October 30, 2008, 11:13 am

    Caitlin,
You’ve piqued my interest with the Morning Star Meal Starter. What exactly is it and where in the grocery store can I find it?

  • Danielle October 30, 2008, 11:13 am

Sooo sleepy! Hope your day goes quickly and you can get back to bed soon 🙂

A: Yogurt. Period. I just love the stuff! The

I just read the second part to your Motivation philosophies and I’m speechless. You described and explained everything so beautifully and it’s all so very true in my life, as I’m sure it is in others. I know I get sappy and thank you quite often for your little tidbits but this time, omg THANK YOU! Life, health, happiness, you’ve definitely got the right approach. And you must be doing something right… you’re in great shape and marrying a man you love. I was so moved and touched and it means so much to me that you took the time to share this with us. One more time, because I can’t say it enough 😉 thank you.

  • Caitlin (see bride run) October 30, 2008, 11:17 am

catherine – oooo sushi! good one!

sharon – i forgot about bread. i could prob live off that, too. meal starter is basically “textured vegetable protein” i.e. soy. its formed into crumbles like ground meat and its a very realistic-tasting pass. i’ve faked out a lot of boys with it! you can find it in the freezer section of the organic/healthy foods section.

danielle – thank you! i’m glad you enjoyed it. either i’m doing something right, or i’m just insanely lucky. i like to think its a little of both 🙂

  • MacDuff October 30, 2008, 11:21 am

I had to go to yoga this morning (after waking up weirdly at 5:30), and that definitely helped with my energy levels.

I’m with Catherine. Sushi me all the way.

  • Krista October 30, 2008, 11:37 am

It would have to be oats, for sure!

  • Kimberly October 30, 2008, 11:40 am

Tomatoes! I eat tomatoes on toast almost every day for breakfast or lunch, and I put tomato sauce or salsa on almost everything to make it taste better. Almonds, avocado, and sunflower kernels are also way up on the list (and coincidentally, all go great with tomatoes!)

  • Sammie October 30, 2008, 11:50 am

PB & J – a staple as a child and even as an adult. That delicious duo will always have a place in my heart.

  • Gina October 30, 2008, 11:56 am

hahaha that picture made me laugh out loud. especially the way maggie is lounging like that- so cute!
PEANUT BUTTER! give me a jar and a spoon, i’m set for life 😀

  • jenngirl October 30, 2008, 12:05 pm

peanut butter and banana, hands down.

  • Balance, Joy and Delicias! October 30, 2008, 12:27 pm

    oatmeal, kobucha squash and corn.

mid-morning snack at 1pm? what time do you have lunch then?

  • Caitlin (see bride run) October 30, 2008, 12:30 pm

    balance, joy and food – i should’ve written “mid-afternoon snack #1”. i eat lunch around 11:30.

  • amy. October 30, 2008, 12:30 pm

Cute pic of maggie posing ! That seems like a long list of wedding to-do’s, good luck with it all. If I had to live off one food…I cant pick one! PB + anything basically (bread, waffles, banana, yogurt, icecream, etc!)

  • Julie October 30, 2008, 12:33 pm

I could live off hummus and pita bread…or any kind of bread for that matter! I love me some hummus.

  • Anonymous October 30, 2008, 12:34 pm

I would have to say pb and J and banana sandwiches! I eat them 5 times a week and can’t get enough! haha!Caitlin- are you doing all of your wedding planning and stuff yourself? I’m getting married in August and I feel like my mom and his mom have kind of taken over the planning! haha! which is fine with me b/c I’m in law school and have NO time to do anything, but you make me feel like such a slacker with the wedding plans!

    Pizza!!!

  • Melissa October 30, 2008, 12:58 pm

AW! LOVE the pics of Maggie 🙂

    I’d say PIZZA 🙂

  • Caitlin (see bride run) October 30, 2008, 1:00 pm

mel – good question. yes i am doing most of the planning myself. my mother lives in tennessee and future husband’s mother is very busy. all my good girlfriends live in pennsylvania. i take lots of pictures of stuff and email it to my mom. honestly, i wish i had MORE help. i feel quite overloaded with wedding details (if you cant tell) and i have many, many bridezilla freak outs that dont make it onto the blog.

sometimes the sheer cost of the wedding gets to me. we are spending a LOAD of money on the wedding (half ours, half our families) but i wouldnt have it any other way…. i’m just so excited about EVERYTHING!!! 🙂

i wish i could bridezilla clone myself, that would make my life easier.

  • Justine October 30, 2008, 1:04 pm

I could eat oatmeal every day! And I usually do… 🙂 And I could eat it multiple times a day, too!

  • RhodeyGirl/Sabrina October 30, 2008, 1:09 pm

    tea
    oatmeal
    peanut butter
    apples

  • HangryPants October 30, 2008, 1:18 pm

Not lying – yogurt and granola. Thought it before I read your answer!

  • lauren October 30, 2008, 1:38 pm

man that is a tough question because i have never been able to name one food that I absolutely love the most. But if I had to choose one – it would be PIZZA. different varieties every day!

  • strongandhealthy October 30, 2008, 1:39 pm

Peanut butter and banana wraps…warmed up in the micro of course! Yummy!

  • therunningaddict October 30, 2008, 1:50 pm

    Maggie is too cute!
    Have fun at Yoga!

  • magpie October 30, 2008, 1:59 pm

I’m pretty sure I would live off of some sort of squash – butternut or acorn 🙂

  • BOBBI McCORMICK October 30, 2008, 2:15 pm

I would have to say apples and pb, best love affair ever! Even though I tend not to ever have them…lol

  • Marissa October 30, 2008, 2:41 pm

I love Boca’s fake meat crumbles!

I think I could live off of broccoli – as long as it’s cooked. I don’t like raw broccoli 😛

  • VeggieGirl October 30, 2008, 2:49 pm

HAHA!!!! That photo of Maggie is priceless 😀

“If you had to live off one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?”

    Banana-Nut Butter oatmeal!!! 🙂

  • Nicole (anotheronebitesthecrust.wordpress.com) October 30, 2008, 4:13 pm

I’d either choose peanut butter and jelly on english muffins or artichoke cumin sushi rolls!

  • Anonymous October 30, 2008, 4:26 pm

I know what you mean about the price of a wedding! its outrageous!! From what My family has spent so far, we could purchase a small car! haha but I agree its worth every penny to get to marry the man of your dreams. Mine would be happy with just eloping but I want a great wedding! You only get one(well that is the plan for me!! haha!) I live in Ohio for school and all of my girlfriends live in Ky so I have to call them and get their opinion alot and trying to fit things into everyones schedules is awful! I feel your pain but hang in there bc it will all be so worth it!
