Killer Combo

Oh yeah.  You know I love a great veggie mix.  This one was awesome.  The secret ingredient?  Sunflower seeds.

In the mix:  quinoa, black beans, corn relish salsa (from Trader Joe’s), stir-fried carrots, and loads and loads of sunflower seeds.

Speaking of killer combos, here are four things that I did today, which added up to a pretty awesome Monday:

  • Strapped Henry to my chest in his wrap and then zipped up my jacket around us both so we could go for a walk.  It’s chilly out there!

  • Wrote 1,700 words, and I think only 300 of them sucked.

  • Watched this MythBusters video and learned that Jack did not, in fact, have to freeze to death after the Titanic sank, if only Rose was smart enough to tie her life jacket underneath the door to increase its buoyancy.

  • Did bicep curls with a sixteen-odd pound giggling baby.

Oh yeah.

I watched that Mythbusters episode last night! And then the Plane Crash show that aired after. Very interesting!

Oh no, poor Jack! Granted, the movie would just not have been the same if he lived… But it was so sad. Now I want to watch Titanic.

The quinoa salad looks great! Quinoa has to be one of my new fave foods.

Rose! That b*tch! I didn’t catch it… But I did start to watch the plane crash episode that someone else had mentioned. But it made me kinda sad so I turned it off.

Kind of interesting to think about how the movie would have changed if they had let him live!

I think it’s awesome that you’re writing a novel. I’ve always wanted to do that. I guess I should just start!

I agree with Sam about how interesting it would have been if he had lived. I doubt they would have lived happily ever after but it’s an interesting thought.

According to James Cameron, Jack did in fact have to die. The board just needed to be smaller.

So are you going to do the national novel writing month in November?

Yay!!!! You are going to have so much fun. You should go to the local meetups that they have in Charlotte. You meet all kinds of fun people and it can give you a sense of accountability that helps you finish that novel. (If those aren’t good for you, come and visit us down in Columbia. We’d love to see you.)

I love it when the majority of the words I write don’t suck. Sometimes, you get into a groove and are on fire, other times (too often lately), I feel like I’m just floating along. Had to cut seven pages of my book last night. Never fun, but hopefully I get back on track tonight.
