Good morning! I am running on about 4 hours of sleep and therefore did NOT wake up early to Shred or run. We have appointments with a realtor to discuss locations for the holistic clinic, so perhaps I’ll be able to squeeze in my workout in the evening.
We are actually staying on the University of South Carolina Columbia campus at a lovely boutique hotel called the Inn at USC.
The Inn is actually a historic landmark! I love the South… everything is so old (for America!).
The front of the Inn looks like a typical Southern home, but the back actually extends for hundreds of rooms.
You know you’re in the South when…. there are rocking chairs on the porch.
When we checked in last night, I seriously wanted to curl up the lobby and pass out…. the big cushiony couches looked SO inviting!
Breakfast was excellent… the Inn has a great hot bar with tons of Southern classics like grits and biscuits and gravy.
Eggs, a sausage, a small bicuit, and a bunch of yummy fruit. Plus a coffee:
Gotta jet! We’re late! See you later.

Looks beautiful where you are!
(Hope you can rest up a bit!)
Oooh I have stayed in that hotel before, it is fabulous! The beds were uber comfy
Have a good day today!
I’ve been a “lurker” for months and haven’t ever posted (I’m a little shy I guess
), but I had to write to tell you Welcome to South Carolina and especially Columbia, where I live! It’s cool to know you’re in town. Hope you enjoy your stay!
SO CHARMING!!
Good luck today! I would love to stay at that inn and rock on those chair with a good book and a mug of coffee.
I love rocking chairs
Have so much fun today!
Welcome to my neck of the woods! I love the south, and I especially love hearing people who don’t live here talk about how great it is! (Although technically FL is the south I suppose, but it’s definitely a whole different beast than the Carolinas.)
Enjoy your stay!
love the south! my grandparents live 20 mins from charlotte, so maybe if you move there we could meeettt
have a wonderful time!!! enjoy yourself
you think places are old in the south? you should come up to Massachusetts, where there are plenty of houses built in the 1620′s! and in my hometown, people still live in them – pretty cool.
enjoy sc!
So cute! You know for being a drivable distance away I don’t get to the Carolinas as much as i should. What a cute place to visit for a mini vacay. I will keep this in mind when I am planning a get away
What a GORGEOUS place! Hope you get some rest today – 4hrs. is never fun!
Beautiful photos! Hope your appointments with the realtor go well and you don’t doze off.
Looks so nice and relaxing!! I am jealous!
That inn loks so beautiful. And the breakfast….yum!
Hope you’re enjoying your stay.
Have fun on your mini vacation! That breakfast looks tasty!
you’re staying on campus? lucky girl! that’s one of my favorite parts of downtown columbia. be sure you go up to 5 points, and if you can make it to main st that’s really cool too. and all within walking distance of your inn. have fun! you’re going to love it.
My boyfriend went to college there. He always talks about how great Columbia is.
Looks so pretty and relaxing!! Breakfast looks delicious!!
looks like such a cute inn, it makes me want to move to the South!
That place is gorgeous!!! I love South Carolina so much. I tell myself that after living the high life in a city,I’ll move to the south and park myself in one of those rocking chairs.
BISCUIT!!! It’s time I have another dose of ‘em. Enjoy your afternoon!
Sounds like it’s going to be a great trip!
That place looks amazing, what beautiful architecture. Wow!
I LOVE biscuits!!!
How fun!! It’s so “Gone with the Wind.” Love the front of the Inn and that biscuit!
The inn looks stunning! I love architecture and all things “old.” Hope your appointment goes well.
I love old things! Have fun.
oh wow – the inn looks so nice. good luck with the location search!
Cute Inn. Have fun looking for a place to setup shop.
What a cute area! Love the lobby!
I love continental breakfasts! I always try to get stuff I wouldn’t normally have at home. Looks good!
looks like a nice place!
oh i love adorable little places like that!!
awww…my brother goes to USC. I haven’t been to visit yet, but I really want to!
I guess I’ve been “lurking” for a month now, but I had to come out of the showers to tell you that I walk past the Inn everyday! I work at USC and live just around the corner, so the Inn is one my route to the office. I hope you enjoy your stay!
It would be great to have another healthy living store in Columbia…we’re a bit in need!
When I was in Georgia I couldn’t get over how pretty the buildings were either! Hope everything goes well today and can’t wait to read more of your southern adventure!
I totally agree about the south feeling like it has more history, when I visit my Grandmother in Alabama I always stay at this huge Manor house that used to be a plantation house and it feels like it’s so steeped in history, but it also feels like it’s haunted! lol
Oh that Inn looks beautiful! I’ve always wanted to live in the south!
Hope the meeting with the realtor went well!
Dude, I commend you for abstaining from the frosty!!
Looks/sounds like fun! Enjoy girl!
Snazzy hotel! Enjoy your stay!
Boo USC. I go to Clemson. We’re enemies.
Y’all should look into Charleston/Mt Pleasant, too. There’s a lot of health conscious people down here.
