Just popping in to say that this is the most amazing snack, ever.

It’s a banana topped with sunflower butter, chocolate chips, and crumpled potato chips.

Dude.  Duuuuuude.  So good. It’s a little bit of everything – kind of like this post! Winking smile

What did you do this weekend?  My goal for 2014 is to seriously declutter and organize our home, so I worked on that.  I’ve been loosely following Apartment Therapy’s The January Cure and Money Saving Mom’s Four Weeks to a More Organized Home, but vacation really through a wrench in my grand plans.  I’m still getting stuff done where and when I can.  But I knew that I had to get some major tasks done over the weekend or the first month of 2014 would end without much progress towards the bigger goal.

I cleaned out the junk drawers, organized the attic, put away the Christmas decorations (they weren’t out-out, they were piled up on a guest bed… but still), boxed Henry’s old baby clothes, cleaned out my car (I discovered almost an entire box of cereal scattered under the seats), and tidied up the garage.

Up next: my desk.  It’s a scary place, people.

If you’re trying to declutter, too, check out this post by Jess Lively: “2014 Throw Out 100 Things Challenge.  It’s packed with tons of great tips on the process.  I’m glad to share that link because, after this weekend, my only tip is “drink wine beforehand.”

Speaking of handy tips and tricks, MomHTP sent me this video link.  If you make a lot of egg whites or yolks at a time, it would definitely be handy!

And last, but certainly not least…

I looooove sunflower seed butter. And, it’s great with chocolate, but I have to say that the potato chips freak me out a little bit. Haha.

WHOA! That egg trick is awesome, I can’t believe I haven’t thought of that sooner! Now I need to look for a recipe where I separate eggs so that I can try that out 🙂 I am trying to become more minimalist– I need to check out that throw out 100 things challenge!

I’m sitting at my desk at work right now and a banana covered in nut butter and chocolate chips has never looked so good!

I would have never thought of that for separating eggs! It seems so simple!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

The desk is the key! I never realized how distracting and counter-productive my desk was for my work until I cleaned it up, put up a cute pin board and stationary organizers, etc. HUGE change!

Whoa – that egg separating “trick” is way over thought. Three dishes and a bottle just to separate the yolk from the white? I just crack the egg open and pass the yolk back and forth between each half of the shell until all the white is removed. Quick, easy, simple. No mess, no fuss and no special tricks required. If you are gentle with the egg, you’ll never break a yolk.

Oh my goodness! This made me realise that I don’t eat nearly enough eggs! I simply must up my ante just to be able to do this more…what an awesome tip 🙂

And I had to laugh at your ‘drink wine beforehand’ tip. Love your work! 🙂

PS – you Americans have seriously cool food combo’s…just sayin’ 😉

Not gonna lie, that first picture looks freakin delicious. And then when you said “potato chips” I was like SHE IS READING MY MIND 🙂

Banana, potato chips, chocolate chips and sunflower butter all on top of each other sounds like a party on a plate. One thing though, where do I find sunflower butter? I have never heard of this before. Can I use almond butter instead or Nutella? This can’t be good for the waist line, but it sure sounds good for the soul! 🙂
