What I Ate: Happy Day

in What I Ate

I was driving to the grocery store and caught myself absolutely GRINNING from ear-to-ear.  I had such a happy day!  Nothing big happened; it was just a fun, relaxing, productive day.

Toaster GF waffles with peanut butter, maple syrup, bananas and strawberries.

After breakfast, I went for a solo stroller run.  I don’t even remember the last time I went for a run without the Husband!  It’s been a while.  And I certainly don’t remember the last time I willingly pushed the jogging stroller (truly, it’s been months).  I did about 2.5 miles.  It was blazing hot and really challenging but it was fun.  I felt great afterwards.

Came home and made a yummy almond butter, banana, and frozen berry smoothie with a big scoop of protein powder.  I also had some rice cakes with cheese.

After snack time, it was ERRAND TIME.  We are throwing Henry’s birthday party this weekend, so first stop was Party City for decorations.  Then, I went to a bunch of different grocery stores to stock up on party food and food for our out-of-town guests that are coming to visit.  Maybe this is why I was so happy – I love having visitors!

I got home much later than planned and ended up desperately throwing together a meal while I thought of this Instagram post.  I ended up having toast with hard boiled eggs, a big scoop of green lentils, and blueberries.  I scarfed it down before plopping Henry in front of Thomas the Tank Engine so I could do a business call.  Later, when I had more time, I had a side salad.

I spent Henry’s lunch wrapping up some work projects and cleaning the house.  I finally unpacked my suitcase from the Heartbreak Hill 5K and 10K race.  I ate these samplers!  The Clif Mojo bar was pretty good, but a little too sweet for me.  The Chia Bar in coffee flavor was OUT OF THIS WORLD, but I love chia seeds and love coffee, so I may be biased.

It was TACO NIGHT for dinner.  My tacos were stuffed with tofu, broccoli, and veggies.  Plus a serious load of salsa.  And later, I had yet another banana (dude, I love bananas) with peanut butter and a plum.

I love being a hostess too! We’re having a little bbq at the house this weekend and I’m looking forward to planning some tasty eats. Awesome job on the run, might try to squeeze one of those in first thing tomorrow morning (depending on if my legs feel like death from my CF workout this morning haha). Happy Friday 🙂

HA! That Daniel Radcliff quote totally made me laugh! Love it!

I love those days when nothing really happened (good or bad) but you’re just beaming with joy. I’ve definitely had those days and just love radiating that kind of energy.

Dude….your Dan Radcliffe quote at the end…MADE my day! I love DR! And Harry Potter. I’ve been around your blog for a very long time, but I’m alway super nervous to make comments…I know that’s silly. You will probably laugh at this, but you are like SUPERWOMAN to me. I love reading your daily updates, and I feel like I have been a part of your family the last several years of reading HTP. I am so happy for you and the husband and Henry and I congratulate you on your HTP baby number two! About two years ago, I emailed you about an extremely personal issue that I was having regarding my significant other not wanting to have children. I just wanted to let you know, we are happily married now, and while the issue of children still exists, I have always carried your words of comfort with me and have hope for the future. Best wishes to you and yours!
