Happy Thursday!

I had a fun one yesterday.  It started off kind of rough from a mom perspective – my super sleeper had a poor night thanks to scurry dreams, and then he ended sleeping in until 10 AM (unheard of!!).  I thought our day was shot (we normally do our fun things in the morning), but then I realize that he’d probably kick his nap.  So I called Julie and asked if she wanted to go on a hike.  We needed some outdoors time, and I figured that she’d be down!

I bought our hiking backpack half-knowing that it was going to merely end up a food carrier.  We go on nature hikes about once a week, and while I was a little concerned about this hike’s hills, I also suspected he’d boycott the carrier.  And it did!  Henry wanted to walk the entire time.  I think we probably did 1.5 mile over rough terrain.  Go, kiddo, go.  We also spent a lot of time down near the lake.  This is actually the same lake that I’ve done a number of triathlons in!

We ended up finding a quiet section of beach to sit near, and Julie threw a stick in for Sadie to swim out and get over and over and over again.  That dog has so much energy… especially compared to James, who sat as far away from the edge of the water as his leash would stretch and just observed.  James is NOT a water dog!  He’s a couch dog.

Best part of the afternoon was that Henry called Sadie “Julie.”  So he’d be like, “Go, Julie, go!” And we’d say, “No Henry, the dog is Sadie, that is Julie.” And he reply, “Julie get the stick!”  Hah.  Julie and her dog are one and the same, I guess.

Looks like you all had a blast at the park! I think I may be doing something similar with my pup today – though she is NOT a water dog! 🙂

That lunch looks DELICIOUS! 🙂 And I love that quote. I’m seeing the flowers though i could also use some physical ones to brighten up my home! 😉

Ryan was dying over Henry’s “Sadie/Julie hybrid” when I told him about it last night. Loved hanging out with you yesterday! Can’t wait for Saturday! 🙂

Haha! Love that he got Julie and Sadie muddled up. Kids are so funny without even realising it. 🙂

Sounds like a fun day!! My toddler is just starting to have nightmares as well… it makes me so sad when he wakes up crying “mama!” Poor little guys 🙁

Looks like your day turned into a great one! That’s so funny about calling the dog Julie! Reminds me of our little 2 year old neighbor. My husband takes our son, Murphy, outside to play every evening, and the little neighbor calls Murphy “Baby” and calls my husband “Murphy”. So cute!

    What are “scurry” dreams?

That’s how Henry says scary 🙂

Is Sadie a Vizsla? I have a Vizsla and she would swim for a stick until she passed out; they love water! Also, so cool to see other people with Vizslas.

Looks like a great day! I have been craving a hike lately. Maybe I’ll make it out there this weekend!

Hey! I’ve followed your blog for a while now and have a Q completely unrelated to this post. I’ve read your sleep training posts of or Henry..how did you know it was time to stop the dreamfeed? I worry it’s messing with his sleep cycle since he usually wakes up a bit. Little man still can’t seem to go more than 4 hours ughhh. Thanks for any insight!

I can’t really remember when we stopped! I think we used it for a few months to get us over the 1 am feedin hump. But I truthfully can’t remember!
