Again – I love taking a photo every hour.  It’s so fun to see what you capture – and what you miss (meals, showers, dog walks…).

7:30:  Henry wakes up.

photo 1

We read books for a while and then…

8:30:  Watch cartoons for a bit.

photo 2

Henry is OBSESSED with Thomas the Train.  Obsessed.  I think I’ve watched every episode on Netflix.  My brain is slowly rotting.  Fizzling fireboxes!

9:30: Breakfast.

photo 3

Kristien is up and we all make breakfast together.  My new favorite combo is eggs, spinach, and brown rice.  It’s yummy.

10:30:  I’m cleaning out my diaper bag.

photo 4

You guys – I half don’t even want to write about what I found at the bottom of my diaper bag… but I will.  I found a fossilized banana peel.  How did it not stink!?   Hah.  So gross.  I thought I always let my purse get dirty and cluttered, but a diaper bag with a toddler takes it to a whole. new. level.

11:30:  We’re at the gym.

photo 5

Today is the last day of the Ironman March challenge!  I’m done with the run and swim components, but I still have a ways to go with the bike.  I’ve probably got three more spin classes to go to finish the 112 miles. So I didn’t complete my own challenge without the allotted time frame (grrr) but I’m still going to finish it by biking into April.

If you participated in Ironman March AND finished the challenge in March and you want to be eligible for one of the prizes, email me a photo of your completed training plan –> caitlinjboyle@gmail.com.

12:30:  I eat lunch.

IMG_9183

YES.  That is a almond butter and cucumber sandwich.  I know this combo sounds super strange, but it’s really good!  I swear.  Try it. 🙂

I also eat leftover Thai curry.   This is relevant for later… {{foreshadowing}}

1:30 PM:  I’m in a PlateShare board meeting.

photo 1

PlateShare is a non-profit that raises money for hunger relief organizations with a special focus on groups that provide ‘real food.’  I’m very honored to sit on the board because I just know that PlateShare is going to do incredible things.

2:30: Still in the meeting!

photo 2

Our founder just won several large grants at start-up events, and we got to vote on which hunger relief organizations would get our donations.  I can’t wait to share more about it when it’s official.

3:30:  I’m back at home, and I decide to take a nap because Henry is napping, and Kristien is working.

photo 3

We recently moved our bedroom to the upstairs guest room because we’re so scared that Henry is going to figure out how to climb out of his crib.  We have an open landing on the second floor, so we want to be close to him once he starts exiting the crib.  It kind of works out because we like sleeping in the upstairs room more than the master!  It’s cozier.  <3

4:30:  I eat a banana.

photo 4

5:30:  We play outside while I drink a tea.

photo 5

6:30:  We’re still playing outside…

photo 2

7:30:  I watch Henry and Kristien do a dance to Michal Jackson’s Thriller.

photo 3

It’s actually pretty good and well-coordinated.  Hah.  Wish I could show you the video but one Husband in particular would KILL ME.

8:30 – 10:30:  Remember that foreshadowing about the leftover Thai curry?  Ugh.  FOOD POISIONING!

I was so sick all night.  This was super disappointing because we were pumped to watch The Walking Dead finale, but that did not happen.  Guess we can watch it tonight!  No spoilers, please.  :)  I hope it was good.  This season has been kind of meh but was really picking up.

What did you do on Sunday?

Oh no! I hope you’re feeling better! Last night I saw Jillian Michaels speak. She came to Des Moines on her Maximize Your Life tour, and it was INCREDIBLE!

    • Caitlin March 31, 2014, 9:19 am

      That’s so cool!

  • Rebecca March 31, 2014, 9:22 am

    Food poisoning sucks 🙁

Haha, I also found a rotten, old banana peel – but tucked away in the holder of the car door. It also didn’t smell. Totally gross!

  • Lindsey March 31, 2014, 9:24 am

I am was going to ask about that sandwich combo, hey I won`t knock it till I try it! lol
So jealous of being outside playing, we are still under way too much snow and its still snowing! Ack.
    Love this post idea 🙂

  • Jackie March 31, 2014, 9:50 am

What kind of sandbox do you have? Would you recommend it? We’re in the market! Did you think about a “sand table” vs. the box that sits on the ground?

    • Caitlin March 31, 2014, 10:12 am

I guess Henry likes getting in the box and wiggling his feet around. I got it off Craigslist for $25. I think it’s Step 2.

  • Pam S @ Nuts for Nutrition March 31, 2014, 9:58 am

    Hope you are feeling better!

The Walking Dead doesn’t come on till tonight here in UK, hope the finale is a good one!

  • Amelia March 31, 2014, 10:04 am

Ugh, food poisoning blows! Did your leftover curry contain milk or was it sitting out too long (after you first ate it) before you refrigerated it? I hate it when bacteria starts to grow. Bah!
How much can we bribe Kristien for you to post the video?? IG? 😉
That sandwich looks intriguing…..I bet it would taste good with the hemp seed dressing that Ashley @edibleperspective posted today too. Mmm! Hope you’re on the up!!

  • Liz March 31, 2014, 10:05 am

I am so proud of myself…I finished Ironman March yesterday…and I am 27 weeks pregnant!!!!!
It was definitely a challenge. I am sending an e-mail your way!

Hope you are feeling better. Food poisoning is horrible!

    • Caitlin March 31, 2014, 10:12 am

Dude, you are amazing! Truly. <3

  • Sara @ LovingOnTheRun March 31, 2014, 10:06 am

What a full and fun day! I’m so sorry you got food poisoning! That is NO fun! I remember I have had it a couple times, except I always seem to get it at the worst times possible!

  • Cassy @ On The Inside March 31, 2014, 11:00 am

I haven’t watched the Walking Dead season finale yet either. I’m really hoping no one ruins it for me today! I’ve actually really liked this season aside from Daryl’s sudden mood shift. He’s my favorite character, but he’s been kind of a jerk the last few episodes!

  • Simply Life March 31, 2014, 11:01 am

Oh no! So sorry to hear about the food poisoning 🙁

  • Rebecca March 31, 2014, 11:15 am

Yesterday was my birthday, so I started my day opening my sister’s present to me, and then went to church, and then had to leave church super-fast so I could get to work before noon and sit in the pool watching birthday parties until six. And feel crappy because I might be allergic (er, hypersensitive) to chlorine????? I’ve been sneezing/coughing all weekend, and my eyes are itchy and watery. It might be the seasons changing and the weather warming up (finally most of the snow is gone), but it might also be the chlorine, or maybe the chlorine makes my allergies worse???? Which would suck because they have me doing pool A LOT in the next month…

Food poisoning sounds like the worst. Hope you feel better!!

  • Ali March 31, 2014, 11:36 am

I love the photo each hour idea. I’m going to try it. I have a 13 month old that always loves all his Thomas the Train toys. He hasn’t watched the show yet, but I’m sure I’ll be right there with you when he does. What age did Henry start watching TV?

  • Amanda March 31, 2014, 12:17 pm

Not the same as a banana peel but I often find several used spoons in my purse. I toss them in there after I eat yogurt on the go. Then I forget until we are low on spoons and I realize why.

Food poisoning is the worst. I hope you’re feeling better!

  • Jacquelynn March 31, 2014, 1:04 pm

Ugh, sorry about your food poisoning. do you feel better? Also, what time does Henry go to bed? Did you notice a difference with bedtime after the time change?

  • Stephanie @ Whole Health Dork March 31, 2014, 1:08 pm

Ugh, so sorry you got food poisoning. Never had it, but the husband has and it was awful. Heard the finale was good. We also didn’t watch it last night. Hoping to tonight or tomorrow.
Sunday was full of blog stuff, reading for class, working out, making photo book of last summer’s vaca, making dinner, getting ready for the week. Doesn’t sound like a full day, but it was.

  • Aishah @ Coffee, Love, Health March 31, 2014, 1:15 pm

Hope you feel better hun! Oh what i would giiiiiiive to see Henry dance to thriller! LOL I bet it’s the cutest thing ever!

  • Elizabeth {Positively Healthy} March 31, 2014, 1:34 pm

So sorry to hear you got sick, that is the worst! It was my birthday on Sunday, so we celebrated!

  • Jen Clark March 31, 2014, 2:05 pm

I just watched the finale on my lunch break ( I just couldn’t wait until I got home tonight!). I won’t give anything away because that would just be mean! I do not think you will be disappointed though! Craziness!!

  • KS March 31, 2014, 2:18 pm

I think the link to HoneyStruck.com should be HoneyStuck.com (no R).. the current link isn’t working. Exciting work you gals are doing!!

  • Nancy March 31, 2014, 4:54 pm

On Sunday I went to my friends house for a BBQ with her husband + kids + 2 dogs + 1 cat….and then us two + our dog. It was wild, I tell ya. Probably a mistake bringing OUR dog over since he loves to hear his own voice, and is incredibly bossy, whether or not he’s in his own territory or not. Sigh 🙂

I totally want to see that Thriller video 🙂

  • Michelle @ A Healthy Mrs March 31, 2014, 5:11 pm

I’m curious to hear what you think about TWD after you watch it — we really enjoyed it, but I know some people didn’t.

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning! 🙁

  • Amber K March 31, 2014, 5:43 pm

Ugh, food poisoning is the worst! Hope you’re feeling better. 🙂

  • Syl March 31, 2014, 7:18 pm

    Hi Caitlin,
Regarding your stair worries. I had the same ones when my boy was little. I found what helped ease that was to put a gate across the bed room door. That way when he got out of his bed he could only get so far. Just a suggestion 🙂 and of course that only worked for a little while, until he learned how to climb over the gate…boys!! 🙂

    • Caitlin April 1, 2014, 7:12 am

      Great suggestion – thank you!!!

  • Kelly March 31, 2014, 9:27 pm

Food poisioning! Nooooo! That is the worst. 😝 Glad you’re on the mend today! We took Trey to see bluebonnets yesterday (the Texas state flower) and it was so much fun. We’re definitely in Spring over here and I love it!

  • Carrie March 31, 2014, 10:21 pm

I hope you feel better soon! So sad to have missed The Walking Dead Finale.

I don’t blame you guys for wanting to be closer to Henry. I feel the same.. I recommend child proof handles for his door, if possible. They really ease my mind with my daughter being up and about now. 🙂

  • Hannah March 31, 2014, 10:38 pm

I love these posts, but I hate the end! That stinks that you got sick. Hope you’re feeling better!!

  • Amanda K. April 1, 2014, 2:24 pm

my son also loves Thomas. Just yesterday he told me he was “cross”.
    haahaha

  • Jennifer April 1, 2014, 2:49 pm

So sorry you were sick! My son is in a “Dora” phase. I try to get him interested in other cartoons (please just one. other. cartoon.) but he won’t have it. I love the sandbox – great idea for outdoor play!

  • Steffie April 1, 2014, 4:46 pm

My mum always used to make us cucumber and peanut butter sandwiches as I was growing up and I still love them now! I don’t know anyone else who eats a cucumber and nut butter combo – everyone thinks I’m bonkers when I make them. Finally there’s someone else who eats them too!

  • Dana B April 1, 2014, 6:09 pm

Hope you’re feeling better! I find it refreshing that you let Henry watch a little TV.
