Coffee Everywhere

in All Posts

Tackled this lovely mini-strength training sessions this morning.

Untitled

I did it in Henry’s room while simultaneously dodging rolling trucks, tossed blankies, and Maggie, who insists on licking my face every time I turn to one side for a bicycle crunch.

And then we did a family 5 mile run.  I pushed the stroller most of the way, and then Kristien took over for the last mile.  I had to SPRINT to keep up with him – and he was pushing 45 pounds.  Ugh.  It’s no fair the way that works, huh?  I run for years and years; Kristien starts running a few months ago and blows me out of the water without really trying.

Here’s breakfast!

Looks good, right?  Of course it does – there’s coffee in there!  Anything with coffee is 100% tastier.

In the oatmeal pot:

2/3 cup oats

2/3 cup brewed coffee

1/3 cup almond milk

1 banana

Topping:  brown sugar, coconut, strawberries

And yes, I totally still drank my regular cup of coffee.

Question of the Day:

What is the best kitchen / cleaning / entertainment / workout / parenting gadget you own and why?  I LOVE our robot vacuum so much because we get vacuum carpet lines without doing any work.  It’s the little things in life.

Caitlin you are brilliant for putting coffee in oatmeal- I must try. I love coffee everything lol And I know it must be annoying that your hubby just started running and is already so speedy. I swear men are built so differently (well, duh-lol) I feel like my brothers look 5 pounds thinner after one workout. They are just made to be fit I guess lol I don’t have a favorite gadget really, but I like the “iRun” app on my iphone because it calculates everything about the run and it’s free too 🙂

Coffee in oatmeal!? I have never tried it but it seems like something I would LOVE and I can’t imagine why I have never thought about it!

The best thing in my kitchen right now is my Kuerig! I just got one this past Christmas and I use it EVERY single day.

Mmmmm — your oatmeal sounds delicious! The more coffee the merrier 😉

Mmmm…coffee. I’m not a huge fan of oatmeal, but maybe the coffee will help! As far as a gadgets, I love my Garmin watch, but it hasn’t gotten much love lately since running outside hasn’t been an option with all the snow and ice. Hopefully, it will get busted out soon. On my wishlist is a Polar watch or something similar to wear while I CrossFit!

Coffee in oatmeal sounds amazing! This would totally power me through my workouts! 🙂
Drives me nuts about the men as well, same thing with losing weight!

Your breakfast is really delicious. I would love have such a breakfast. But I often just drink a cup of coffee. A bit bad, is not it?

Is it sad to say that my favorite gadget is my iPhone? It does so much! Pictures! GPS! Communication! Portable! Not to mention the apps…weather, food tracking, period tracking, people tracking! My husband and I only got smartphones less than three years ago, so we really, really appreciate them!

Coffee in oatmeal…what an off the hook great idea! I’m definitely trying that ASAP. As I sit here drinking coffee from a 20oz mug…ha!

Keith…love that man…but goodness. He’s in amazing shape. He did the Austin Fittest Man Contest last year (with no training) and placed 7th in his age group. I was half proud half jealous. 😉

Oh and best gadget…my iPhone. I am sadly one of those people who is addicted to it. The camera, the apps, the instant internet…sigh…sad but true. I am an iPhone addict.

my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I use the thing several times a week. I cook 99% of our meals from scratch and it saves me so much time and energy.

I know how you feel about your husband’s running prowess. Ha. My fiance didn’t even train for the half marathon we did last month and I followed a fairly intense plan to a tee. He finished only 3 minutes behind me. How is that possible?!

Our crockpot is the best device in our entire house! Makes family dinners so much easier during the week.

My husband is the same way: always taking MY hobbies and then getting way better at them than me! 😉 Now the only times we run together are at the yearly zoo run or when we get treadmills next to each other.. otherwise he is patiently waiting at the finish line.

My husband is the same. Doesn’t run EVER and if I sign us up for a 5k he finishes in 22 minutes and I’m way behind him by a couple minutes.
