Happy Five Years!

in All Posts

It’s our five year anniversary.  Neither one of us can believe it!  Five years?! Already? We definitely had to count on our fingers to make sure it was REALLY five years and not four.  Our wedding feels like it was just yesterday…

It’s been five really great years.  It’s been easy to have a happy marriage because I am wed to an incredible and caring person.  And now life is even better because of Henry!

Did you know that Healthy Tipping Point was originally named See Bride Run?  I started blogging about six months before the wedding because I wanted to document everything (side note: thank goodness I got married before Pinterest… I was already drowning in DIY projects!).  I came up with the blog name HTP while on our honeymoon to Napa Valley and San Francisco, where we drank wine, went to wonderful spas, drove up and down the California coast, and ate awesome Chinese food.

happy anniversary to you. I am in my 40s and am amazed at how young everybody looks compared to my old body!!

Some favorite songs: Radio Nowhere by Springsteen. Also from this past year: Get Lucky, by Daft Punk and Dance Apocalyptic by Janelle Monae. (that last one is a great running song I’d guess, if I actually ran)

Congratulations! Happy Anniversary! I am so out of touch with music, the songs got slowly less recognisable to me as I went down the list. I say it’s because I live in Japan, but really it’s my age showing!

  • Aerevyn Harteis January 3, 2014, 5:56 pm

    Happy anniversary!

Hi Caitlin! I think this is my first comment too! Been reading about a year I think. I share some of your music/workout songs. I’ve only been running for about 18 months (did Couch to 5K last year and now doing Bridge to 10K).

Here are some others I use/like:

The One – Mary J. Blige
Money Grabber – Fitz & the Tantrums
    Hysteria – Muse
Empire State of Mind – Jay Z
    Jesus Walks – Kanye West
Remember the Name – Fort Minor

  • Nicole January 3, 2014, 9:45 pm

Happy anniversary you two! I really loved “Amazing” by Kanye West for a while but right now I’m in love with “Turbulence” by Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. It’s so not me but it gets me going!

  • Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope January 4, 2014, 4:10 am

Happy Anniversary! I’m sure I’ve said this before, but I LOVE your wedding dress… the detailing on the bodice is gorgeous.

You pretty much picked the most epic running songs ever. Just saying 😉 I would maybe add…
    Lady Gaga “Just Dance”
    Alex Clare “Too Close”
Black Eyed Peas “I Gotta Feeling”
LMFAO “Sexy and I Know It”
Britney Spears “Till the World Ends”
So many good ones to choose from the past 5 years!!

  • Maggie @ Just a Couple More Pages January 4, 2014, 12:18 pm

Congrats on 5 happy years! When I was looking at the song list I was like “2013? she already picked 5 from this year?!” and then I realized it’s 2014 and I cried inside.

Anywho, I love Nicki Minaj’s Fly I actually just added it workout playlist after ignoring it for long time.

  • Elizabeth @ Positive Change January 4, 2014, 12:46 pm

Happy 5 years! I love those songs and I can’t believe how old some of those songs are! 🙂

  • Veronica January 4, 2014, 9:28 pm

Absolute FAVORITE running song – “Strip Me” by Natasha Bedingfield. It always seems to come on my randomized playlist EXACTLY when I need it during my workouts.
As a mom, wife, and student, I wear a lot of hats. Exercise “strips me” down to what I really am, especially when I have to dig deep and ask myself “do I have what it takes?”

The beat is great, strong, steady and empowering. The lyrics are perfect for those moments during a workout when you ask, “What the HELL am I doing this for???”
And she’s British. I adore her. *smile*

Happy Anniversary! I almost died when I read that Run This Town and Bad Romance are from 2009. They are absolutely the newest songs I know. Time for an update! Thanks – and best wishes for the next 5 years and beyond.
