Flashback Friday

in All Posts

I *just* realized that Christmas is in five days. Where did the month go? I have two freelance articles to write, bookkeeping to wrap up, and two more presents to purchase before I can really kick my heels up and declared, “VACATION!”

Oooooh yeah.

I wanted to quickly pop in and remind you guys that the Sweet Santa/Scary Santa contest deadline is TODAY.  So send in your entry to caitlinjboyle@gmail.com.  I have to say – it’s gonna be a tough competition both ways. So much sweetness. So much creepiness.

I thoroughly enjoy furbaby Santa photos, too! Smile And throwback Santa photos.  Santas from the 1970s were particularly creepy…

You can see all the contestants from last year HERE

Running in the Street.  One of the things that I like most about running is how I can just zone out.  But it’s not safe to completely check out while running in the street, especially when you’re wearing headphones.  Here are some tips on avoiding a collision with a car.

I Heart GymPact.  Because if the fear of losing $5 doesn’t get me to go to the gym in the middle of winter, nothing will. <— Recently started using this app again AND – guess what??!! – they are launching a *new* version come January 1 that I think a lot of you will love.  Details coming soon!

Wait Until The 7th.  I love New Year’s resolutions, but I believe that you shouldn’t start them on January 1.  Here’s why!

Ooh, gym pact looks great! I’ve never heard of it before but it seems like a great way to motivate!

Interested for an update on Gympact. My account is currently on hold while I’m pregnant, but it was a great motivator before. BUT, they had some serious customer service issues earlier this year that make me wary of going back. Essentially you’d be wrongly charged or a workout wouldn’t count and good luck on getting to respond unless you harassed them on Facebook. That, and apparently cancelling an account is beyond difficult. I really like the concept, but I’m not impressed with how they have dealt with customer service. Lots of updates on their Facebook page like, “oops, sorry guys, rewards will go out late this week, dealing with an issue” but people were ALWAYS charged. Not cool when you are dealing with people’s money.

I know I had read your deodorant post when you first wrote it, but I’ve only started using natural deodorant in the last seven months or so and I have to say I’m so happy I switched. I started using a brand called DeodoMom (even though I’m not a mom) and I think it’s great. They’re a small family owned company, which makes me really happy and there’s only two ingredients in the deodorant. I wore it through the hot NY summer, where I work out in a gym without AC five days a week, and I’ve never felt like I smelled. I actually tried to use my old Secret brand one day and it felt so heavy and sticky and perfume-y smelly.
