Coffee that went far too quickly…

A morning walk in perfect end-of-summer weather…

Arrived early enough to snag my favorite spin bike (front row, second from the left) and I stayed an extra 15 minutes to round my workout up to an hour…

Discovered this on Henry’s diapers and went into a 5-minute internal rant about political correctness going too far…

Let Cookie Monster eat cookies!

Joined some friends for the opening of a new park in Uptown Charlotte…

It’s pretty awesome – two huge lawns, a splash playground for the kiddos, and other creative play elements for older kids (like giant chimes and misting machines).  It’s right next to the new baseball stadium that is currently under construction.

Side note: Happiest of birthdays to our friend Sean!

Oh, also, Mirabelle tried to kiss Henry on the lips.  He was having none of it.  He did, however, hold her hand for a while the other days.  He’s playing hard to get, I guess.

How fun is it that Heather and I had babies five days apart?  The kids are growing up together and have become so close.

On the way home, at a red light, I caught him reading a book… upside down… but still.  So cute.

And then I was attacked by a ghost.

The end.

so jealous of your nice weather! we are currently roasting & it’s looking like this week will be our hottest yet. Yikes!

  • Kelsey @ Ramblings of Change September 2, 2013, 12:27 pm

Looks like the perfect Sunday! And I think Cookie Monster should ALWAYS be able to eat some cookies – I mean, he did get his name for a reason. =)

  • Christine @ BookishlyB September 2, 2013, 12:30 pm

Hey, after 50+ years of excessive cookie consumption the poor guy may have developed high blood pressure/cholesterol or even diabetes. And I’m sure he has a ton of cavities. It may be time for a few carrots 😉

    • Caitlin September 2, 2013, 12:31 pm

I feel like Cookie Monsters are probably biologically designed to consume lots of cookies. Carrots probably slow him down because he is not optimally created for carrot consumption. Like, a cookie monster eating carrots is the equivalent of me eating lots of cookies.

      • Christine @ BookishlyB September 2, 2013, 2:32 pm

Well, then if we’re going with that completely plausible line of thinking that means carrots are totally his vice- the equivalent to me eating an ice cream sundae. So I guess by eating a carrot Cookie Monster is contradicting his biological disposition and is therefore a gluttonous little hypocrite. Note to self: When day comes don’t buy diapers with pictures 😉

  • Nancy September 2, 2013, 12:30 pm

So I’m wondering if Cookie Monster is even still called Cookie Monster anymore, what’s with the carrots man!

    • Caitlin September 2, 2013, 12:31 pm

      In Moderation Monster?

  • Tara September 2, 2013, 12:49 pm

Ha! I never thought Cookie Monster would become Carrot Monster, I wonder what lawsuit brought that around.

  • Presley @ Run Pretty September 2, 2013, 12:52 pm

Is Oscar optimistic and no longer living in a trash receptacle? I do not enjoy change.

    • Caitlin September 2, 2013, 12:53 pm

      hahaha

  • Cecilia @ MommiesRun September 2, 2013, 12:56 pm

Wow. Agreed about Cookie Monster! That is just going a little too far in my opinion. Enjoy your beautiful weather! It’s in the 90’s here in Memphis and probably 3000% humidity

  • Ali September 2, 2013, 1:41 pm

I can’t believe that the Cookie Monster no longer eats cookies!! Did they change his name?!

  • Michelle @ A Healthy Mrs September 2, 2013, 2:50 pm

Carrot Monster just doesn’t have the same ring to it… 🙂

Looks like you had a great day!

  • Katie @ Talk Less, Say More September 2, 2013, 4:52 pm

Oh poor Cookie Monster…as much as I love carrots, it’s just not the same! Now, as for that cup of coffee, let’s get you a refill! 😉

  • Susan September 2, 2013, 5:30 pm

I wish it was fall-like weather here in the Queen City, but with high 80’s and the added humidity, I’m not feeling it yet. I have seen a couple of trees that are giving up their green color, but we have a ways to go….!

    Yeah to our newest park!

Can’t wait to wear my scarves, jackets, and boots. I was raised in NY, so I love the cool/cold weather!

  • Ja @Ja on the RUN September 2, 2013, 5:43 pm

    SO cute! 🙂

  • Beks September 2, 2013, 5:58 pm

Tht sounds like a great day! And I totally agree with Cookie Monster. Let the poor Muppet eat his cookies! Create a new Muppet if you want one to eat veggies!

  • Janelle September 2, 2013, 6:11 pm

Ahh, so cute that he’s reading a book upside down! And, now I want a cookie…

  • Cailyn September 2, 2013, 7:39 pm

What type of shoes is Henry wearing? I have a little boy a few months older than Henry and I think his shoes look perfect for the age of life they are in.

Also, I love the name Henry. It happens to be my husband’s name and I just think it is great!

    • Caitlin September 2, 2013, 7:58 pm

They are actually Stride Rite water shoes. He wears them as his everyday shoes occasionally and they are great because they are so water resistant!

  • Amber K September 2, 2013, 8:55 pm

Okay, all of the cookie monster talk is cracking me up!

  • Crystal September 2, 2013, 11:35 pm

Cookie Monster has been eating veggies since at least the 80s. Did you not watch Sesame Street when you were little?

  • Leah September 3, 2013, 7:46 pm

    Love the henry ghost!

  • Alex @ Kenzie Life September 5, 2013, 7:22 pm

Ahh Henry playing hard to get!! 🙂 So cute!! When I was in pre-school I kissed a boy on the lips and apparently the teacher called my parents and the boy’s parents. I don’t remember any of this but I guess I had some guts even as a little one 🙂
