What the What

in All Posts

What I’m Doing Later:  Speaking to a group of 250 5th to 7th graders about Operation Beautiful and my new book.  I’m so excited!  I usually talk to college students (nearly 50 events over the last 3 years!), which is always fun, but like talking to teens the most.

What I’m Doing Now: Blogging, but of course!  And simultaneously talking to Kristien about taking Henry to the doctor’s late… little man is sick.  AGAIN.

What I’m Wearing:  Black jeans, green shirt, tan faux-leather jacket, gold ballet flats.  All from either Marshall’s or Old Navy.  I normally dress up for events, but I think it’s better to dress down when talking to kids.

Also – you know you aren’t a fashion blogger when you’re posing in front of your baby’s walker…

What I’m Eating:  Eggs, 5 Ingredient Vegan Date Bar, blueberries.

I did a twist on Angela’s recipe by subbing out almonds and using cashews.  I also added 1/4 cup strawberry jam to the topping.  Yum.

What I’m Listening To:

What I’m Thinking:  Crap!  I’m late!  Gotta go!

What the what are you doing today?

Heading to work from 9-530 and then coming home and knocking out school work!

Good luck on the talk. It will go well I’m sure. You’re such a pro by now 🙂
Hope Henry feels better. It IS that time of year 🙁

I’m taking a coffee break before embarking on a typically loaded Monday at work. Phew!

Totally smart to dress down a bit when you’re talking to kids. Makes you more relatable!! 🙂 Good luck!

good luck! it’s such an amazing thing that you’re doing! 🙂

Cute outfit! I love that jacket! Haha and I’ve never posted an outfit – definitely not much of a fashion blogger.

Good luck at your talk today. I work with this age group, and this such a powerful message that they need to hear. I’m constantly amazed at how self-conscious and unsure of themselves they start to become around this age, and I’m so glad you’re telling them just how beautiful they are!

Good luck with the talk! That’s a fun age group – with your GOTR experience I bet you’re a pro with younger girls.

I’m working at job #1 from 8-4, going for a cross country ski, and then working at job #2 at home tonight. Exciting times :p

Have a great speech! Do you even get nervous anymore before these speeches?

Your days always seem very interesting. When I saw you asking What everyone else was doing, my only answer for myself was “Work”. Much less interesting!

Caitlin- have you seen this article? http://thestir.cafemom.com/teen/150303/girl_puts_a_youre_beautiful?utm_medium=sm&utm_source=facebook&utm_content=natural_fanpage

A girl got expelled for posting “You’re beautiful” notes on the lockers at her school!! Crazy. (Actually her classmates petitioned and the dean took it back, but still!).

What I’m doing today: Got off my night shift at 6:30, went to the gym, slept for 1.5 hours before my husband had to go to work, got up showered and gave my 2.5 yr old a bath, cleaned the living room, started cleaning the kitchen, am feeding her lunch right now and then we are NAPPING. Then picking up my older kid from school/homework/easy dinner since my husband works late tonight and continue cleaning the house. And I have FIVE loads of laundry to fold.

  • LIZ February 4, 2013, 1:12 pm

You look great! I’m sure it’s been asked, not sure if you’ve answered it, but do you think breastfeeding/pumping has helped you lose weight, or is it more diet and working out?

    • Caitlin February 4, 2013, 1:49 pm

Probably both – I think BFing is more of a slow burn in terms of post-baby weight loss, though.

  • Lauren @ Eat Like An Elephant February 4, 2013, 3:38 pm

Prepping for an interview tomorrow….really need one of these to go my way!

  • catie February 4, 2013, 4:17 pm

    you looks super cute!

today so far i’ve: ran with my running group, dropped my husband off to get a rental car for his work trip on my way to work, worked feverishly from 8:30-noon to get a deadline done, ate lunch and read Insurgent by Veronica Roth the ENTIRE TIME (cannot put it down), and then came back to find out that i didn’t really have a noon deadline. since i’m home alone for three days, i’m thinking a PB&J for dinner and trying out some of those date bars! YUM!

  • Angela February 4, 2013, 8:40 pm

I worked allll day. Now I’m going to whip up some mini quiches to store in the freezer for easy breakfasts!

  • Kathy February 4, 2013, 10:52 pm

Love Ellie Goulding! You should check out the band Of Monsters and Men…the female singer sounds quite a bit like her
