Earbuds are a seriously hot commodity in our house.  We probably have five or six pairs of the white Apple earbuds but, for some reason, no one can ever find a pair when they want one.  Why?  Well, because they’re such a hot item, we hide earbuds from each other.  And then we end up forgetting where we hid ‘our pair’ and can’t find any earbuds when we want them.  It’s a constant battle of: “Those are MY earbuds!” or “Hey, I put my earbuds in my drawer, who took them?”

So before I go on a run, I check all of my hiding spots. Nope, not in my purse.

IMG_5041

Not in the jogging stroller pockets, either.

Then I start checking out all of the Husband’s usual hiding places…

IMG_5039

Nope. Not in the hallway junk drawer…

IMG_5040

Or the kitchen drawer junk drawer (we have a lot of junk drawers…).

Oh, wait – there they are!  In my shoe rack.  Duh.

IMG_5044

That’s why I was oh-so-excited to review the new JayBird BlueBuds X.  No one can claim that my JayBirds are theirs!  Winking smile

These are some pretty snazzy wireless earbuds.

IMG_5051

IMG_5035

The coolest thing about JayBirds is that they have a customizable fit.  I loved this idea because the white earbuds make my ears ache after an hour or so.  The JayBirds come with small, medium, and large cushions that you can swap in and out to find the best size for your ears. The black webbed wings slip up into your ear to help hold the earbud securely in place.

IMG_5024

I ended up using the large cushions – no wonder my ears always hurt with the white earbuds!  I’ve got some large and in charge ears. Winking smile

JayBirds connect to your Bluetooth device.  The size of the instruction booklet is rather thick, so I was thinking this was going to be complicated.

IMG_5029

But it only took a few easy steps on my iPhone!  I’ve never using wireless earbuds before; it was SO nice to go on a run and not get my arms (and the handles on my stroller) all tangled up in the cords.

Other awesome things about the JayBirds:

  • They are so secure – they definitely don’t move around at all during running or other high-impact activities.
  • The battery lasts eight hours.
  • You can wear them ‘under’ the ears or ‘over’ the ears.
  • The sound is amazing.  I’m not a huge sound quality freak, but man – there is definitely a difference between these earbuds and others.
  • There’s a lifetime warranty against sweat.
  • They’re the official training headphones of the USA Triathlon.  Pretty cool.

There’s also a little control panel on the wire that allows you to control music and answer phone calls.

 IMG_5057

But… best of all… there’s a special carrying case.

IMG_5038

Nobody better steal these JayBirds.  Husband, I’m looking at you!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 7:01 am

    My air conditioner

  • Katie H. February 25, 2013, 7:02 am

The hot commodity in our house is bananas. We go through bananas like crazy–and it seems to be that when I need one the VERY MOST, my husband has eaten the last one 🙂

I’ve had my eye on these earbuds!

  • Allison S. February 25, 2013, 7:02 am

Gum! It doesn’t last very long in my house or my dorm room!

  • Meghan February 25, 2013, 7:02 am

The hot commodity in my house are my magazines!

  • Liz February 25, 2013, 7:06 am

We have a couple of drinking cups that my huz and I are always fighting over. We are either accusing them or they are in the dishwasher – seems like all the time!

  • abbi February 25, 2013, 7:14 am

Would love to try these. I have a big earbuds issue and have never found a set I like! Hot commodity in our house, it would food items. I may or may not been known for actually hiding food in our house, often things from a Trader Joe’s run. 🙂

  • Katie February 25, 2013, 7:15 am

I laughed when reading this post because it sounds SO familiar! My husband and I also have the same problem with earbuds. 🙂

  • Jamie February 25, 2013, 7:16 am

Our hot commodity is water bottles! Someone is always taking someone else’s for the gym.

  • Jen February 25, 2013, 7:19 am

OMG…I could REALLY use a pair of earbuds that actually stay in my ears and not around my neck! Favorite commodity? Someone is always stealing my pen and trail mix 🙂

  • Holly February 25, 2013, 7:22 am

I need some new earbuds in a bad way. We’ve got the same earbud sitch in our household. Plus, I can’t never find a kinda that are comfortable and produce a good sound. Throw in wireless, and these look perf. Other hot commodities: bananas. It’s always a fight over bananas.

  • Liz @ The Shrinking Owl February 25, 2013, 7:23 am

I have a tendency to buy multiples of things, but in our house, we can NEVER find a pen when we need one, even though I have about a kabillion in my purse.

  • Sara February 25, 2013, 7:23 am

    Whoa these are incredible!
Hmm the hot commodity in my classroom is prob my festive page flags or folders. Simple but lovely 🙂

The hot commodity in our house is the fingernail clippers. We can never find them even though they only get used in the bathroom!

  • Rachel February 25, 2013, 7:35 am

Ours is leftover homemade pizza. My hubby always eats it for a late night snack so there’s never any left for my lunch the next day!
Would love to win some headphones!

  • Laurel February 25, 2013, 7:36 am

Chocolate baked goods are the hottest commodity in our house. Generally my husband’s a very conscientious sharer, but he goes into an eating trance when there are brownies and cookies around. He doesn’t even realize he’s eaten all of them until I ask what happened to the treats. If I think I might want any, I just fill up a baggie and hide it in the back of the freezer. It’s great because the plate typically goes so fast that I forget that there were ever treats around, and then I stumble across a fun surprise in the freezer a couple months later.

  • Heather From KC February 25, 2013, 7:38 am

The Ipad, it is mine, but my son and husband are always stealing it. I hid it from them and they take it and hid it from me. I sometimes hid it in my car and fake like I don’t know where it is.

  • My Neon Running Shoes February 25, 2013, 7:41 am

Wow awesome! The hot commodity in my house is… dessert! People always steal it and it NEVER lasts 😉 I’m guilty too though!

  • AD February 25, 2013, 7:42 am

iPhone chargers! My husband and I are always stealing them from each other.

  • Kathleen@newversionofme February 25, 2013, 7:44 am

The earbuds look awesome! Something we hide and can never find – our toenail clippers!! I use them to cut my nails, so I take them out and use them when i have time (in all sorts of random places). My husband will be looking for them and have to ask me, then after he uses them he’ll put them somewhere. Then when I need them, I can’t find them. It’s an endless cycle.

  • nichole February 25, 2013, 7:46 am

The phone charger! Somehow we lost one and so the one we have is constantly being moved around so when I go to charge my phone in it’s usual spot it’s never there.

  • Catie February 25, 2013, 7:49 am

The crossword! Someone always does it before the rest of the group gets there at my office!

  • Amyloispie February 25, 2013, 7:49 am

    The ‘good’ slippers lol

  • Caitlin February 25, 2013, 7:50 am

Ipad, it belongs to my hubby but I’m always stealing it.

  • Dina February 25, 2013, 7:57 am

Sweatshirts…can never find a good, cozy one when you need it.

  • Priscilla February 25, 2013, 7:58 am

Scissors! I still don’t know where they go; I just know I can’t EVER find them when I need them.

  • Katherine February 25, 2013, 7:59 am

desserts….they never last in my apartment. haha 🙂

  • Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat February 25, 2013, 8:00 am

My hot commodity is my Henckel knife that I use for cutting just about everything, from watermelon to tomatoes! Whenever people come to visit they tend to grab that one out of the drawer (likely because it’s always on top – I use it at least 3 times per day and always wash it and put it back in the drawer). The problem is, they always put it in the dishwasher or in the sink, so it’s not ‘in its spot’ when I go to look for it! I love visitors, but that always makes me tick!

  • Cate February 25, 2013, 8:01 am

Great giveaway since I recently swiped my husband’s earbuds after misplacing my own, so I need to replace mine. I can’t do the white Apple earbuds either; they hurt after about ten minutes.

The hot commodities at our house are the spare house keys, which never seem to get put back after walking the dog, going for a run, etc.

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 8:02 am

The blender bottle! My fiancé always uses it first and claims its because I put weird stuff in it……according to him. Lol.

  • Anne February 25, 2013, 8:02 am

Welllll, its just me and my dog, so I guess the only “hot commodities” are things I leave on the table that she can jump up and grab and chew….pens, hair ties, iphones, my wallet, flash drive…

  • Melissa February 25, 2013, 8:02 am

    My hair products/tools!

  • Nikki February 25, 2013, 8:04 am

The hot commodity in our house is a travel coffee mug we both LOVE. It definitely gets us going in the morning!

  • Tyffanie February 25, 2013, 8:05 am

The hot commodity in our house is a big fleece blanket that we always use in living room when we are watching TV or studying! Not as easy to hide as earbuds, but I’m sure if we could hide it easily, we would!

  • Caitlin February 25, 2013, 8:07 am

The hot commodity in our house is the iPad. It was a gift for my Fiance and I thought it was silly and now it’s a constant debate of whose iPad it actually is since one of us is always hoarding it from the other.
I’m in desperate need of new ear buds after my cat chewed through two pairs.

  • Kris February 25, 2013, 8:07 am

I hate to say this, doggie poop bags! We like to use newspaper bags, but we get one per day and the dog uses 4-5. Our neighbor gives us more, but still not enough. I buy either little dog bags or diaper bags at Dollar Tree but my husband won’t use them because he thinks they’re so hard to get apart, then uses big bags which drives me nuts (too much in landfill). So we’re always hunting down newspaper bags (but I try to be nice and leave them for him if we’re running short).

  • Joy February 25, 2013, 8:07 am

The hot commodity in my house are my homemade energy bars. They are always gone before you know it!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Jo Anna February 25, 2013, 8:08 am

Apple chargers for phone and ipad!

  • Holly February 25, 2013, 8:16 am

We are constantly battling over the ‘good’ coffee mugs!

  • Ann February 25, 2013, 8:17 am

Sugary cereal! When we do have it, my brother tries to make me cut it with “healthier” cereals, like corn flakes. But no way! Give me my Honey Nut Cheerios straight up! om nom.

  • Dana S February 25, 2013, 8:17 am

When I lived at home, the hot commodity was always leftovers! Had to hide them in special refrigerator compartments ha!

  • Lisa February 25, 2013, 8:18 am

I live alone, so there aren’t any hot commodities around my place! Everything is alllll mine.

  • F. Plvan February 25, 2013, 8:19 am

The hot commodity in my house is always candy!

  • Keri February 25, 2013, 8:20 am

For us, it’s the Macbook charger…..I leave mine at work, so my fiance and I are always fighting over his!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 8:20 am

Wow, I’d love to win these. I have tiny child-like ears and the white ones both hurt and fall out all the time.

In my house it’s the best travel coffee mug. We had two, but my husband lost one, and now he’s always taking mine!

  • Rachel February 25, 2013, 8:20 am

Love it! Our hot commodity is pajama pants- I’m guilty of stealing my fiance’s fleece pjs, and he’s guilty of stealing my sweatpants!

  • Kellie February 25, 2013, 8:21 am

My sunglasses. I can never find them when I need them!

  • Julie February 25, 2013, 8:22 am

Nail clippers! My husband and I have a constant game of hide the nail clippers from each other and neither of us can ever find a pair. We easily own 20 pairs of them but no one ever knows where any are. Now I hide them in the one place he dares not go–my purse.

  • Liz February 25, 2013, 8:23 am

Our hot commodity is definitely phone chargers! We are always stealing them from each other. Those earbuds look awesome! The white ipod earbuds hurt my ears, too.

  • Katie M February 25, 2013, 8:23 am

The 4-colors-in-1 pens by Bic are a prized possession at my office. If you leave one behind in a meeting room, you will never see it again.

  • Peggi February 25, 2013, 8:23 am

It depends on the time……whenever we have yogurt covered raisins or almonds they seem to be the going thing, especially since my son has decided he likes the raisins as well. Also small spoons……I DO NOT know how we go thru spoons so fast – I sware I need 50 of these to get us thru….lol! I love these new Jaybirds, I would love to win a pair!! Have a great one girlie!

  • laura February 25, 2013, 8:25 am

I’d love to win these! I have teeny tiny childlike ears and the white ones both hurt and fall out.

So, in our house it’s the travel coffee mug. We had two awesome ones, my husband lost his, and now he steals mine regularly.

  • melanie February 25, 2013, 8:25 am

those look incredible! someone is always stealing the best mugs and laptop chargers!

    Mina

  • Jeannine February 25, 2013, 8:26 am

Sweets! We try to eat fairly healthy so when there are cookies in the house everyone is fighting over them. 🙂

  • Logan @ Mountains and Miles February 25, 2013, 8:26 am

Phone/Ipod chargers!! Really, any kind of charger – garmin, phone, computer…

I lose my headphones all the time, so I only have the cheap $20 ones. I think I would have to be extra careful with these if I won!!

  • Lauren February 25, 2013, 8:28 am

    The iPad.

  • Kelsey Y. February 25, 2013, 8:29 am

Hard to think of a true ‘hot commodity’ in our little apartment since we live pretty simply, but I guess it would have to be the last of the sweet potato fries! Sounds funny, but there’s always a discussion on who “deserves” that last bit! PS, these headphones would be amazing!

  • Nicole February 25, 2013, 8:29 am

Oddly enough, the hottest commodity in our house at the moment seems to be lunchboxes. I have three different ones that I’ve accumulated over the years, and my roommate has one, but whenever I go to use one, they seem to all be missing. I’ve actually started hiding one in my closet so the roommate can’t leave them ALL at work. We lead very exciting lives for two people in their early twenties, obviously.

  • Amy @ Pumpkin & Pi February 25, 2013, 8:31 am

Chocolate is usually the first thing missing in our house, but flash drives are always hard to find too!

  • Linda February 25, 2013, 8:31 am

Chocolate – the “secret” chocolate stash is always gone when I go to grab a piece.

  • Sunny February 25, 2013, 8:32 am

Pens are a hot commodity in our house because our puppy is always chewing them up!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 8:32 am

I’m in desperate need of earbuds that don’t fall out of my ears!

Hot commodity? Definitely the TV in the living room, if that counts. Everybody is always fighting over it….and it doesn’t help that we always record our favorite TV shows on that tv either!

  • Kelly V. February 25, 2013, 8:33 am

Pens! I swear I buy new pens every trip to Target, but yet we never have pens when we need them! I’ve had my eyes on these ear buds for my husband & I.

  • everydayasian February 25, 2013, 8:33 am

    definitely the iphone chargers

  • nicole February 25, 2013, 8:33 am

Car keys! We have been driving each others vehicles on a regular basis for the last three months, and even though each has a spare set, and we have a designated key storage, they always seem to be missing!

  • Elizabeth February 25, 2013, 8:35 am

The hot commodity in our house is a super soft and cozy blanket to snuggle with! We all want it! I want those earbuds!

  • Katie February 25, 2013, 8:41 am

Scissors! We must have at least ten pairs of scissors (seriously) and there is only three of us in the house…but some how whenever I go looking for a pair someone has moved them or is using them… it drives me insane!!

  • Jennifer February 25, 2013, 8:48 am

I NEED these 🙂 The hot commodity in our house is the lint roller…..dog hair everywhere!

  • Melinda February 25, 2013, 8:49 am

Definitely the iPad… I thought my husband was silly for buying it since we already have a laptop. Would looooove a pair of the earbuds… Those white Apple ones are awful and I swear they don’t fit anyone’s ears properly.

  • Ashlee February 25, 2013, 8:50 am

Those earbuds sound amazing! Our hot commodity in the house is travel coffee mugs. I even have ‘girly’ ones (tinker bell, hot pink, etc) and the hubby still steals them! 🙂

  • Jackie February 25, 2013, 8:52 am

The hot commodity in our house is the chaise lounge part of our living room couch- the best place to read or watch a movie!

  • Laura @ RunningJunkie123 February 25, 2013, 8:52 am

The blanket on the couch! It’s so comfy and warm but unfortunately it’s not too large, so it’s terrible when 3 or 4 of us get up there and try to all get some of it!

That and coffee travel mugs. haha.

  • Britton February 25, 2013, 8:54 am

The hot comodity in our house definitely sweets! They always seem to disappear when we have them in the house!! I would love to win these earbuds! I just had to throw my pair away the other day because they stopped working. I could use a new pair!!!

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 8:54 am

We have the same problem with ear buds…and phone chargers. It might actually just be that I always lose everything. 😉

  • Lara ZP February 25, 2013, 8:56 am

well, i live alone, so there’s none of that, but at the office, it’s staplers, for sure. i always end up using one that’s broken!

  • Thomas De Smet February 25, 2013, 8:57 am

Hot commodity at our house probably is the iPad. My girlfriend always steels it when I want to do some lazy surfing on the couch. But I love her so I let her be and watch my tiny Galaxy Nexus screen so I stay up to date on stuff (like my favorite running blog 😉

Regards and keep up the good work!
    T.

  • Dana H February 25, 2013, 8:58 am

My girls are always fighting over our old droid phone they use for games. I know I should just cave and get a little DS or something… but this was free!

  • Margaret February 25, 2013, 8:59 am

Flatware is a hot commodity. Actually so are dishes. My brother “stockpiles” them in his room and my dad leaves them wherever he was eating. I find dishes on the back patio, in the chicken coop, and left in the tool shed. Seriously.

  • Molly Bendzick February 25, 2013, 8:59 am

My lip stuff! I have about 20 of them around the house and in my several purses because I can never seem to find them!

  • Clare @ Fitting It All In February 25, 2013, 9:00 am

I got these for my BF and he LOVES them so I’d love a pair too!!
Hot commodity? Hmm..probably M&Ms. Only because I usually eat them all.

  • Amy February 25, 2013, 9:04 am

Earbuds are a hot commodity in our house as well. Three teenagers…enough said. 🙂

  • Leah February 25, 2013, 9:07 am

Funnily enough the hot commodity in my house is my old Nintendo ds. Even though my daughter has her own for some reason she or the husband has taken with them somewhere. I love the brain games!

  • Megan S @ gourmet or go home February 25, 2013, 9:07 am

Thank you! The hot commodity in our house is definitely iPhone chargers:)

  • Paige February 25, 2013, 9:09 am

Hair things! No matter how many I buy, I can never find a hair tie when I need to pull my hair back

  • Steph February 25, 2013, 9:09 am

I phone chargers are the hot commodity here.

  • Erin February 25, 2013, 9:10 am

Argh scissors in our house! I think we have about 7 and I can never find any…

  • Kristina N. February 25, 2013, 9:10 am

Strangely enough it’s scissors in our office! That and Sharpie markers. Colored Sharpie markers 🙂

  • cait February 25, 2013, 9:11 am

salt & pepper kettle chips. once a bag is opened, it’s done. and whenever I go to get some the bag is sitting in the pantry with crumbs.

  • Lindsey February 25, 2013, 9:11 am

Great review! Ear buds that don’t hurt your ears and stay in place are hard to come by.
The hot commodity in our house is hands down the best (leak free) travel coffee mugs! We have 2 Tervis Tumblers that we’re constantly holding hostage. I don’t know why I don’t just toss all the leaky cups and buy more tumblers! I’ll add that to my to do list 🙂

  • Amy February 25, 2013, 9:11 am

These look awesome! The hot commodity in our house oddly enough is tape. I can never find scotch tape when I need it. I guess I should just buy more. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Stephanie G February 25, 2013, 9:11 am

Water bottles – I can never find one!

  • Caitlin February 25, 2013, 9:12 am

The hot commodity in our house is tape..shipping tape and regular old scotch tape. My roommate and I never seem to have any! And protein/granola bars of any kind. We always take the best flavors first, and then no one wants to eat oatmeal raisin.

  • Melanie February 25, 2013, 9:12 am

Our iphone chargers! We have two, but I swear one has disappeared completely, and I’m always tearing the house apart looking for the other one when my phone needs to be charged. A hot commodity for sure!

  • Jessica February 25, 2013, 9:13 am

In our house the headphones are always getting stolen by our cat snowball. He likes to consume the wires for his treats lol.

  • Melanie February 25, 2013, 9:14 am

My sister and I are always taking each other’s leggings…or any clothes for that matter ; ) The white ear buds always hurt my ears this seem great!

  • Regina February 25, 2013, 9:14 am

Food! My husband is constantly stealing all the food in the house. By his way of thinking “if you don’t eat it, it’s up for grabs!”

  • Julia February 25, 2013, 9:15 am

    The iphone charger!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 9:16 am

Chapstick is the hot commodity at our house. We have so many tubes but can never figure out where they’ve gone!

  • Julia S February 25, 2013, 9:17 am

Oddly enough, the “hot” item in our home that perhaps Sherlock Holmes can’t even find are the house keys- and this is very problematic as you can imagine. We have a designated key rack where everyone hangs their keys when they come home (we are a family of four) plus we hide spare keys under the floor-mat, and even in the cookie jar. But for some reason, especially during the winter, the keys never make it to the rack; the floor-mat key is always picked up and dragged off by the cat, and the cookie jar remains empty all the time!

  • Melissa C February 25, 2013, 9:17 am

Hairbrush! In a house of females, the hairbrush is a hot commodity. I always have it in my room and when I need it, its gone, and I have to do a manhunt to find it!

  • Cole February 25, 2013, 9:17 am

The hot commodity in my house is definitely nail files – it’s just me so you’d think I wouldn’t have to hide them or stock pile them, but I’m completely incapable of keeping track of them. Every 6 months or so, I’ll buy a 4 pack and then distribute them around (my purse, medicine cabinet, etc.).

  • Martha February 25, 2013, 10:13 am

Clothespins, if you can believe it — we use them as chip clips, and I guess we eat a lot of chips because we hoard the clothespins as if they were gold or something.

Iphone chargers! We are forever accusing each other of stealing them….

  • Kandie February 25, 2013, 10:23 am

  • Sydney February 25, 2013, 10:56 am

If I ever hide anything from the Hubs it is probably specialty food – I buy things like hummus, cheese, fancy tortilla chips and he eats them before I ever get any of it! So, I don’t tell him I bought them and try to “hide” them so I can at least have a taste before they are gone.

  • Leslie February 25, 2013, 10:56 am

    • Laura February 25, 2013, 2:38 pm

  • Lisa February 25, 2013, 11:19 am

Tape seems to be a hot commodity around here!

  • Amanda Hollenbaugh February 25, 2013, 11:20 am

Frozen waffles and bananas are definitely an issue in our house. I try to save the last one because he definitely gets more worked up about it, but then he won’t eat it because he’s weird about using the last of something until we replace it. So odd >.<

  • Cat February 25, 2013, 11:20 am

A hot commodity in my house is probably a iPhone charger. We have probably 5 or 6 of them but can never find one so we’re always stealing each other’s bed side charger.

  • Rachel F. February 25, 2013, 11:20 am

I live alone so I don’t have to fight for things like earbuds, but as a furmama I often fight for bed space. I always lose!

  • Abbey February 25, 2013, 11:20 am

Our hot commodity is the strainer! We seriously eat SO much pasta in our house — sometimes all four roommates will have it for dinner on the same night!

  • Amye February 25, 2013, 11:21 am

The ‘hot commodity’ in our house is the phone charger! I’d love to try these earbuds-thanks for the review!

  • Beverly February 25, 2013, 11:21 am

Definitely our super cool travel coffee mug. I am quick to grab the good one first when heading out.

  • Meredith February 25, 2013, 11:22 am

The over-sized bath towels. We have 4 or 5 and I feel like I’m always digging through a laundry basket to find one.

  • Jessica February 25, 2013, 11:23 am

The hot commodity in our house right now are the girl scout cookies! We hide them from one another and when we can’t find the box pray the other didn’t actually eat them all (he did 🙁 )

  • Clizia February 25, 2013, 11:23 am

Our hot commodity is my huge Winnie the Pooh mug – it’s really thick and keeps my tea warm for ages, my boyfriend is always stealing it !

  • Rob Runs February 25, 2013, 11:24 am

We have the same exact ear buds issue in my house, someone’s always scrounging around gym bags (theirs or someone else’s) or cubby holes trying to find a pair. And I keep buying cheapo ones that break after like two weeks so I’m definitely the more guilty party stealing my husband’s.

  • Renee C. February 25, 2013, 11:24 am

Hot commodity in our house is the peanut butter! Ha!

  • Danielle February 25, 2013, 11:27 am

Ours is definitely little spoons (is that weird?) haha. We have plenty of larger spoons but the little ones seem to disappear

  • Kristin February 25, 2013, 11:30 am

    phone chargers!

  • sofia February 25, 2013, 11:30 am

might not be a household item, but at the office, we are always in short supply of notebooks!

we are constantly hoarding them or getting them from a different office

  • Laurie February 25, 2013, 11:30 am

Ha, this post definitely sounds familiar! Our hot commodity is hangers…not even special ones, just regular plastic hangers. We keep buying more, and still (even when we don’t buy more clothes too) there never seem to be enough and we’re constantly fighting over them!

  • adina February 25, 2013, 11:31 am

The best seat on the couch is a hot commodity. Once my husband and dog lay down, my only choice is the floor!

  • Danielle B. February 25, 2013, 11:33 am

Oddly enough….the item that always seems to go missing are the nail clippers! I can never seem to find a pair….hmm 🙂 These ear buds look awesome….I would make sure they wouldnt go missing around the house!!

  • Sarah D. February 25, 2013, 11:34 am

Iphone chargers and ear buds are the hot commodity in our house. I always have to take a couple extra minutes before I head to the gym to find my earbuds. The Apple earbuds always fall out of my ears while working out too, so these would be great!

  • Michelle February 25, 2013, 11:35 am

Socks! I like my husbands taller socks for wearing during the winter with boots etc and he’s got eight zillion of them! Until we’ve both worn them every day for 2 weeks and haven’t done laundry…oops. 🙂

  • Karlee February 25, 2013, 11:36 am

right now the hot commodity in my house is Girl Scout cookies, my fiancé and I keep hiding them from each other haha.

  • Miranda February 25, 2013, 11:36 am

My bucket of Trader Joe’s crispy chocolate chip cookies.

  • Jessie February 25, 2013, 11:36 am

This may sound a bit silly, but I have a favorite pair of socks that I wear to workout in and once they’ve been worn and put in the wash, I’m always bummed that I can’t wear them again for my next workout. I should really just go buy a few more pairs!

  • Jen in TX February 25, 2013, 11:37 am

The iPods–which always seem to be uncharged when you want to go for a run!

  • Paj February 25, 2013, 11:39 am

anything with chocolate goes fast in my house. lol

  • Coco February 25, 2013, 11:39 am

I signed up for my first 2 races EVER in May & June (5ks), so these would be great for “training” runs! The hot commodity in my house is water cups. It sounds weird, but my boyfriend and I usually keep a glass that is “our” water glass, and get upset when the other person drinks out of it haha

  • Becki Walker February 25, 2013, 11:40 am

I don’t know about hot commodities but we seriously fight over Reese’s holiday candy in our house (eggs, christmas trees, etc) so we are constantly trying to find new hiding places for them!

  • Emily February 25, 2013, 11:40 am

In our house there is a CONSTANT battle over the iPhone chargers! It’s gotten so bad that my boyfriend will “accidentally” leave his at work so there’s no way I can steal it. The only good thing on my side of the battle- I have the only computer, so I can always use the USB to charge my phone through the computer (his tries to sync with my laptop if he does it, causing him to end up with all my contacts etc, which drives him nuts!)

  • Wendy February 25, 2013, 11:40 am

Not at our house, but at my parents’ house it is the “Secret Scissors.” (The really sharp, nice scissors that can cut anything.) My mom hid them in a drawer, but now everyone knows that drawer as the “Secret Scissors Drawer” – not so secret anymore!

  • soph February 25, 2013, 11:42 am

OK the hot commodity at our house right now is a DESK! We literally keep hiding it from each other… it’s currently in my closet. (I know.)

  • Jessica February 25, 2013, 11:42 am

our hot commodity is chapstick! My boyfriend and I are always losing ours (even though I have about 10) and are constantly just taking each others. These earphones look great – especially since mine just broke!

  • Jessica February 25, 2013, 11:43 am

The hot commodity in our house is probably pens. I have a few quality pens that I try to hide from my boyfriend. He manages to find them and the worst part is he has a horrible habit of chewing the heck out of them on the ends. So not only did he steal my good pen but he gnawed it up. “Umm, yea. You can keep that one!” Eww!

These headphones look amazing though! I’ve been wanting to try wireless earphones for my runs and bike trips. How did it affect your iPhone battery being connected to the bluetooth feature on there? Did it drain it fast?

  • Alexis February 25, 2013, 11:43 am

Haha, it’s funny you wrote this because this morning *I* scored the hot commodity in our office — The Mug. We have a huge bank of coffee mugs for the employees (200+) don’t have to bring their own, but there is one mug that is the perfect size, weight and has the best handle. It’s sort of a big deal to score The Mug, and today, it was me! (Probably because I got to the office at 7:20 :\ … but you win some, you lose some.)

  • Kim L. February 25, 2013, 11:43 am

The iPad is a hot commodity in our house and my husband is always looking for it- it’s usually in my son’s room!

  • Beth February 25, 2013, 11:43 am

Scissors!! We have multiple pairs but neither of us can ever find them when we need!! These earbuds look great!!

  • Chelsea February 25, 2013, 11:44 am

Ear buds for us too! The absolute worst is when you get the pair that only works on one side! Why we don’t through them out I don’t know.

  • sophie February 25, 2013, 11:44 am

my husband’s jackets.. i always would rather where his comfy huge jackets than mine so we’re always haggling over who wears what when we go out.

  • Heather H February 25, 2013, 11:49 am

    My favorite pen at work!!

  • Holly February 25, 2013, 11:49 am

At home, my husband and I are constantly ‘fighting’ for control over the microfleece blanket on the couch!

  • Elizabeth February 25, 2013, 11:50 am

Earbuds and iPhone chargers! We have so many and can never find any of them!

  • Deanne February 25, 2013, 11:50 am

Me and the cats are always fighting over hair ties (aka hair fubies) and hair clips. I have caught Trouble many times shoulder deep in my purse fishing out my hair ties to chase around the apartment. Flair will pull hair clips out of my hair if I let my guard down.

  • Casey February 25, 2013, 11:52 am

These things sound awesome! iPhone chargers are definitely a hot commodity in our place.

  • Katherine February 25, 2013, 12:00 pm

The dog’s leashes. She’s has three of them but I always have the hardest time finding one and I’ll find them in the strangest places.

  • liz February 25, 2013, 12:02 pm

I live on my own, but back when I was married the hot commodity was those small white towels for hot yoga. For some reason, whenever one of us needed one, we couldn’t find it. Now, the hot commodity in my office would definately be highlighters and those yellow legal pads. I swear, whenever a new order comes in, people must be taking them by the handfuls and hiding them in their desks.

  • Carly February 25, 2013, 12:02 pm

Definitely the best spot on the couch! I would LOVE these, I am so tired of getting tangled in my earbud wire!

  • Melissa Q February 25, 2013, 12:03 pm

Hangers – the “good ones.” Whenever the laundry comes out, we actually try to be the first to put our clothes away so we get the good ones.

I think it’s time for a quick trip and small investment at Bed, Bath, and Beyond!

  • Lesley February 25, 2013, 12:04 pm

The hot commodity in our house is phone chargers. My husband, Joe, and I both have one on our night stand. If for some reason you take your charger downstairs, it all goes down hill from there!

  • Darbi February 25, 2013, 12:04 pm

    The computer!

  • Kaitlin February 25, 2013, 12:05 pm

Do you really run with earbuds while you are running with your baby?

  • April February 25, 2013, 12:05 pm

My daughters are constantly stealing my shoes to play dress up. They are never where I left them…especially, my favorite pair of boots.

  • Sarah @climbinvegan February 25, 2013, 12:07 pm

My hot commodity in my apartment (with three boys) is totally the toilet paper…… they always steal mine! isn’t that weird??

  • Erin February 25, 2013, 12:08 pm

Any kind of cookie or treat. My husband sneaks “just one” until we’re out of them within a few days of buying or making them.

  • Kelsey LaPaglia February 25, 2013, 12:10 pm

The hot commodity in our house has got to be hummus and frozen fruit when it comes to kitchen necessities. Everyone’s got their favorites so it looks like that’s all we do is snack on hummus and smoothies!

  • Beckie February 25, 2013, 12:10 pm

Blankets!! Everyone and every pet in the house loves blankets and we have been known to fight over who gets which one!

  • Nicole February 25, 2013, 12:11 pm

Slippers! My husband always steals mine because he leaves his somewhere not accessible at that moment! Geez

  • Megan February 25, 2013, 12:12 pm

Pens are the hot item in our house too. They are so hard to keep track of!

  • Nancy B February 25, 2013, 12:12 pm

In my house, the hot commodity is the bag of peel and eat Twizzlers–the “rule” is one per person/per day, but my husband sneaks more than his “allotment” when he can.
    Sad, but true.

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 12:14 pm

Also – EARBUDS. I have the newest apple buds and my husband keeps stealing them. He “accidentally” took them on his last business trip and left his old pair in their spot! If I win these, though, I’ll have to hide them.

  • Alexa February 25, 2013, 12:14 pm

In my house, it’s strawberry starbursts, no lie! We each try to get them out of the bag before the other.

  • Samantha February 25, 2013, 12:15 pm

Chapstick. I have hid dozens around the house!

  • Melissa February 25, 2013, 12:17 pm

In my little apartment, glasses of water are a HOT commodity (my kitten loves to share water)!

  • Katherine February 25, 2013, 12:18 pm

The hot commodity in my household is Burts Bees lip balm! It may seem trivial but the battles over it are truly terrifying

  • Pam February 25, 2013, 12:19 pm

The hot commodity in our house is the Netflix queue. My boyfriend and I are always battling over the next DVD we get!

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 12:20 pm

The hot commodity at our house is my husbands laptop. Since he keeps his in the living room and I keep mine in the office…his is much more convenient!

  • Jenn February 25, 2013, 12:20 pm

Our “hot commodity” is chargers! We all have i Phones, iPods, or i Pads, and like you, we are always searching for one (even thought they all obvi came with one!).

  • Mari February 25, 2013, 12:21 pm

Keys! We have quite a few keys to our front door that are not attached to anything and it seems like they are always disappearing! We’ll find them in random places and are always fighting for them!

  • Amy @ Healthy and Fit for Real February 25, 2013, 12:22 pm

Pens! Both at work and home it is a struggle to keep track of them and we are always looking for some.

  • Lisa February 25, 2013, 12:22 pm

At home, iphone chargers for sure. Are there ever enough? 🙂

  • Claire February 25, 2013, 12:23 pm

I am so excited about this giveaway. These headphones look amazing. The hot commodity at my house is bathroom time. My roommate takes forever getting ready so it is always a battle to get in there first.

  • Becca February 25, 2013, 12:27 pm

    definitely the Apple laptop charger!

  • laura leane February 25, 2013, 12:27 pm

SCISSORS! omg! they’re always getting moved around and stashed in places. I try to have a bagillion pair all around everywhere, but they still get carted off to who knows where and fall into the black hole. xox

  • Emily February 25, 2013, 12:28 pm

iphone chargers and CAR KEYS are a hot commodity in my house 🙂

  • Jessi February 25, 2013, 12:30 pm

Would love to try these out! I have SUCH a problem with earbuds – – my ears are really small and mine hurt after awhile too, or they’re too big and just don’t fit nicely.

The hot commodity in my library — scissors! No matter HOW many times I claim a pair for my desk, give it a day and they’re gone!! Also — pens! We had to start putting our address labels on pens so we know when someone has swiped one 😉

  • Sharisse February 25, 2013, 12:30 pm

I’d say the remote control is a hot commodity in my house!

  • Ruby February 25, 2013, 12:31 pm

I’d say the hot commodity amongst my roommates and me are bowls and dishes. There are certain ones I prefer!

  • Melissa C. February 25, 2013, 12:32 pm

Oddly enough, the hot commodity in my house is the PB. Boyfriend and I are both PB obsessed and tend to always want the last spoonful 🙂

  • Cara February 25, 2013, 12:34 pm

    In our house it’s chapstick.

  • Sara February 25, 2013, 12:35 pm

The hot commodity in our house is probably pens – I can’t ever seem to find a good one when I need it! Or, the remote. We both like to be in charge of that one. 🙂

  • valene February 25, 2013, 12:35 pm

    definately the iphone charger

  • Julie February 25, 2013, 12:38 pm

The hot commodity is our house is wine 🙂

  • Stephanie February 25, 2013, 12:38 pm

Our keys. My husband and I have matching key rings so when we set them on the table, there is no way to know whose is whose. Let the arguing begin… (oh and we TOTALLY fight over apple earbuds too)

  • Abby February 25, 2013, 12:41 pm

    The Chocolate Milk!!

  • Emily February 25, 2013, 12:43 pm

I’m a college junior and I live with three other women in a four bedroom house near campus. A definite hot commodity in our house would be mugs. Whenever I go to make tea, 99% of the time there isn’t a clean mug to be had! And a lot of the times they are no dirty ones in the sink. I think we’re all mug hoarders. Because when I can’t find a clean (or dirty) mug in the kitchen I’ll go up to my room and usually find about 3 mugs there ( at least) or one or two dirty mugs in the bathroom that someone has cleverly left on the bathroom counter (probably in hopes someone would take it downstairs to the kitchen).

Mystery of the mug is never ending around here.

  • tiffany February 25, 2013, 12:44 pm

haha when at home…cereal. someone always finishes it!

  • Danielle February 25, 2013, 12:45 pm

Nail Clippers! We literally have 5 pairs of them. We’ve found them in the car, in the shower, under the bed. It’s nuts-o.

  • Norma Mollica February 25, 2013, 12:49 pm

Living in the northeast right now the hot item is the ice scrapers and snow brushes for the cars!!

  • Courtney @ Journey of a Dreamer February 25, 2013, 12:49 pm

Coffee is a hot commodity in our house! We use kcups and those things go fast!

  • Laura Z February 25, 2013, 12:54 pm

This is a touchy subject for sure. I have tried so many. My ears always hurt becasue buds are too big. Then they get sweaty and fall out. I had a great pair that I lost when walking the dogs one day. It was a sad day. I’d love a chance to try these.

  • Stephanie C February 25, 2013, 12:55 pm

Aside from the eabuds (those get stolen here, too – but we only have two pairs!), but the weirdest thing is that my husband is always stealing my highlighters! And he just admitted this to me after all these years 😉 as a grad student, I need my highlighters!

  • Samantha February 25, 2013, 12:56 pm

At work it’s pens, pens, pens. The good ones get picked up all the time.

  • Kristina February 25, 2013, 12:58 pm

It used to be box cutters at the small pet store I worked at! And everyone thought they had their clever hiding spots, but it was kind of funny because everyone else knew where the hiding spots were… So it pretty much just made for a strange routine of looking in a bunch of weird spots whenever you needed one! Haha

  • Natalie February 25, 2013, 12:58 pm

The hot commodity in my house is gum! The husband and I are constantly stealing pieces of gum out of each other’s car, bag, or desk. It always seems to disappear so fast!

  • Robyne Spillers February 25, 2013, 12:58 pm

A lighter! There are no smokers in our house, but we can never seem to find the lighter to start the grill or light a candle. It is upstairs when you need in down or vice versa.
If we splurge and buy two, well then one comes up missing. I could bet ya that we have a dozen of them stored away in the camping gear!

  • Megan @ The Running Doc February 25, 2013, 1:02 pm

The item that constantly gets moved around in our house is the paper towel roll! With 2 dogs and 1 cat it feels like we’re constantly cleaning up something which results in the roll of paper towels getting moved all over the house.

  • Alexandra February 25, 2013, 1:03 pm

The hot commodity in my house is the car keys. Who has them, where are they, in your pocket, in your purse, on the shelf? lol

  • Jacqueline February 25, 2013, 1:03 pm

    Black Pens!

  • Elisabeth February 25, 2013, 1:06 pm

At my house it’s pens! We both love cool pens & are always grabbing the best ones from each other 😉

  • Meredith B. February 25, 2013, 1:07 pm

Computer chargers are definitely something my husband and I constantly steal from each other.. and I swear my husband misplaces his earphones every other day!

  • Alex @ Raw Recovery February 25, 2013, 1:10 pm

The hot commodity in my house is dog chew toys…my two dogs go after each other’s toys (even though we have duplicates of almost everything) and the humans end up hiding them just to break up fights

  • JennieMc February 25, 2013, 1:10 pm

My pair of fingerless gloves with moist aches on them – everyone takes them, my twin 9 year old daughters, my 14 year old son, and my almost 50 husband! Something about the ‘stache makes it so everyone swipes them!

  • Megan February 25, 2013, 1:11 pm

Scissors and pens always seem to disappear when I need them! Headphones are also a hot commodity, so a new pair would be great!

  • JennieMc February 25, 2013, 1:12 pm

    Auto correct fail 🙁
    MUSTACHE.

  • katie h. February 25, 2013, 1:13 pm

THE COVERS. my boyfriend is a serial blanket stealer.

  • Nayomi February 25, 2013, 1:15 pm

My housemates and I all prefer the same spoon (seriously), so I often find myself waking up early so I can eat my oatmeal with it before it gets snagged by someone else!

  • Jill E. February 25, 2013, 1:24 pm

our hot commodity is definitely the latest issue of our magazines

  • Ashley February 25, 2013, 1:25 pm

iPad charger- We have lost so many of them it is ridiculous. I want to permanently attach one to an outlet so it can never be lost again.

  • Karin February 25, 2013, 1:27 pm

We are always stealing each other’s phone chargers. The best is when I can’t find mine and I secretly unplug my husband’s phone and plug mine in!

  • Brigid February 25, 2013, 1:28 pm

I would love these! My ears are really small, so I have trouble with ear buds. The hot commodity in our house is definitely the iPhone charger. We currently just have one between us.

  • Kristin February 25, 2013, 1:29 pm

We totally fight over earbuds too, but the hottest commodity in our house is totally my MacBook Pro. He has an old PC laptop that he can’t wait to get rid of and we’re always arguing over who gets to use mine. Oh, and iPhone 5 chargers. We have two iPhones and an iPad Mini, so we always need one and someone has always taken it. 🙂

  • Kate February 25, 2013, 1:31 pm

The Ipad is pretty hot in my house. Im always looking for it and someone is always on it. I have begun to hide it in hard to reach places. Yesterday I caught my two year old as she swiped it and ran!

  • Leah February 25, 2013, 1:32 pm

    ear buds!!!

  • Jess February 25, 2013, 1:32 pm

Hot commodity would definitely be a fav blanket!

  • Maura van der Linden February 25, 2013, 1:34 pm

I’d love to win a pair.

The hot commodity at our house is, courtesy of our 11 year old, spoons. He goes through all the small spoons between dishwasher running (we have a service for 12 and only 3 people in the house) because he likes a new, clean spoon for every new bowl of cereal, etc. I’m about to try buying some open stock spoons just for him.

  • Kathryn February 25, 2013, 1:36 pm

Headphones are definitely ours too! We are always fighting over then!

  • lauren salak February 25, 2013, 1:36 pm

the iphone chargers, the coconut milk creamer for coffee, and grilled chicken for our salads. wow thats a random mix 🙂

  • Andrea @ Vegvacious February 25, 2013, 1:37 pm

Earphones are definitely one of the hottest commodities in our house too — its especially bad when we’re leaving for vacation and each need a pair! My husband’s big baggy sweatpants are another one. I have lots of my own, but on a lazy Sunday I love wearing his with the drawstring tied tight – they’re comfy and huge and I just love them …. and he always seems to be looking for the pair that I’ve stolen 😉

  • Andrea February 25, 2013, 1:38 pm

    What are house shoes?

  • Jaleh February 25, 2013, 1:40 pm

SCISSORS! I hate when I need to use a pair scissors because they are impossible to find in my house.

  • Chaley February 25, 2013, 1:43 pm

My favorite sharp cheddar cheese. And STILL they find it!

  • Jessica February 25, 2013, 1:44 pm

At home- it’s always the phone charger!

  • mama February 25, 2013, 1:46 pm

Gum!! Even though there is plenty to go around, we always seem to want the kind the other person has!!

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 1:48 pm

I thought I left a comment but don’t see it?

SHARPIE! We mark our supplement boxes and I can never seem to find the “good one.” It’s always hiding somewhere 🙂

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 1:48 pm

It’s just me and my dog, but she is forever getting into my clean socks and running around with them. I have to hide from her to put my socks on!

  • erica February 25, 2013, 1:50 pm

    i-everything chargers! iphones/ipads/ipods
there never seems to be enough chargers!

my husband has these earbuds, and loves them, i’ve been secretly eyeing his! ;p

  • Mallory February 25, 2013, 1:51 pm

Headphones! It really is always headphones in our house as well…

  • Louise February 25, 2013, 1:52 pm

The hot commodity in my house is flavored sparkling water!

  • Beth February 25, 2013, 1:52 pm

The hot item in our house is the laptop. Each one of us always wants to be able to sit on the couch instead of at the desk. Great Post!

  • Angela February 25, 2013, 1:54 pm

This time of year it’s definitely the Girl Scout Cookies! 🙂

  • Kelly February 25, 2013, 1:56 pm

My “MAC”!! Everybody in the house has thier own laptop, but I am the only one with a MAC and my kids keep borrowing it!! Arghhh!

  • Vanessa V February 25, 2013, 1:57 pm

Chips! If I open a bag to have a few and don’t hide it they will be GONE the next day.

  • Amy February 25, 2013, 1:57 pm

Pens, staplers, and scissors – obviously I work in an office!

  • Sarah @ Yogi in Action February 25, 2013, 2:04 pm

In my house, the hot commodity is the loose tea strainer. We only have one so it’s a constant struggle over finding it, and then having to clean it so you can use it again.

  • Sandra February 25, 2013, 2:07 pm

Phone chargers are the hot commodity in our house.

  • Rachel @ RachelRuns29.11 February 25, 2013, 2:07 pm

Good pens. I’m a total pen snob and Bic just doesn’t do it for me. Do not take my pens!

  • Michelle Walker February 25, 2013, 2:10 pm

The Kindle Fire is a hot commodity! We all have our favorite shows to keep up with!

  • Jess of Team Awesome February 25, 2013, 2:10 pm

These look awesome! I have small ears so the apple (and any other I’ve tried) fall out & my ears hurt!

Our hot commodity is the scissors! We’ve got like 4 pair, but can never find any! I designated a scissor drawer in the kitchen, and that helps, but they still go missing!

  • Elizabeth February 25, 2013, 2:13 pm

Keys are a big one. We sometimes switch cars and then take the spares without putting the other one back and end up searching for keys for WAY too long. It’s not fun.

  • alexis February 25, 2013, 2:14 pm

My daughter loses hair elastics, to the cats. My husband and I fight over scissors, I don’t want him using my nice fabric or paper (also CLEARLY marked) scissors out in the garage to open bags of mulch–yes, that has happened more than once!

  • Jenna February 25, 2013, 2:15 pm

The remote! It’s always a fight….I usually win. Downton Abbey ftw.

  • Sandra A February 25, 2013, 2:15 pm

These earbuds look awesome! I live in a house with three roommates, so Tupperware is always in high demand and going missing!

  • Stacey February 25, 2013, 2:16 pm

    The tv remote!

  • Kimi February 25, 2013, 2:17 pm

My husband, myself and our 13 year old son constantly fight over the afghan my mother in law made us. Its the coziest blanket of the house and when it is cold and snowing out that is the go to commodity!

  • Carolyn February 25, 2013, 2:22 pm

Umbrella! For whatever reason I NEVER put my umbrella in the same place, so I’m always hunting to find it on rainy days.

  • JV February 25, 2013, 2:22 pm

    iPhone chargers always get snagged!!!

  • Katie @ Peace Love & Oats February 25, 2013, 2:34 pm

Well, I’m the only one in my apartment, but I’d have to say the hot commodity is hair bands. No matter how many I buy I can’t ever find a good one when I need it!

  • Kim February 25, 2013, 2:34 pm

Hottest commodity in our house is gum! My husbands chews it non stop so I hide my stash so that when I need it for training clients I’m not stuck having to race to the store!

  • Jenny O February 25, 2013, 2:36 pm

    Re-useable water bottles!!!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 2:36 pm

Definitely “the good pens”. I love a medium or bold point, and so does the husband. I’m all the time accusing him of taking my good pens, and I finally started buying him some of his own 🙂

  • Anu February 25, 2013, 2:36 pm

    the tv, for sure!

  • Gracie February 25, 2013, 2:36 pm

My roommates and I are constantly looking for our headphones too! We all have at least two pairs but whenever somebody is running out the door to the gym or on their way to class, not a single pair of earbuds can be found!

  • Lauren B February 25, 2013, 2:38 pm

My mom is always stealing my peacoat…she absolutely loves it and I never get to wear it anymore haha

  • Nicole February 25, 2013, 2:40 pm

Phone chargers always go missing at our house…

  • Angela @ happy fit mama February 25, 2013, 2:41 pm

My water bottle! My kiddos are constantly taking sips from it all day even though they each have the exact same one. 🙂

  • Tricia February 25, 2013, 2:41 pm

Pens and scissors are always a hot commodity around here.

  • Sarah February 25, 2013, 2:42 pm

Can my hot commodity be food? Every time there are some yummy leftovers, I’ll hide them in the back of the fridge to eat for lunch the next day, but the husband always grabs them first!! 🙂

  • Sara February 25, 2013, 2:45 pm

Pens! There are always a ton of pencils around but never a pen.

  • Amy February 25, 2013, 2:57 pm

The iPhone armband is definitely the thing we fight over 🙂

  • Anna February 25, 2013, 3:00 pm

Definitely the iPad, and we have to compete with our 2 year old!

  • Ashley February 25, 2013, 3:01 pm

Pens and water bottles are hot commodities!

  • Holly B February 25, 2013, 3:08 pm

It’s got to be the iPhone chargers in my house. We ordered a bunch and I always have mine hidden but plugged in behind the bed so I can charge my phone overnight.

  • Tara O February 25, 2013, 3:09 pm

Headphones as well! Hopefully we will have two now!

  • Amy February 25, 2013, 3:10 pm

Clean cups/glasses! My roommate and I are both awful about taking them to our cars/leaving them in our room/etc so there are never enough! These earbuds look awesome- I have the same issue with the Apple ones making my ears hurt after a while. Thanks for hosting this!

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 3:10 pm

Men’s v-neck t-shirts. My boyfriend has a lot of them, but they always seem to go missing. He wears them as under shirts, and I steal them for sleeping, exercising, going out…

  • Megan LH February 25, 2013, 3:11 pm

Smoothie cup- it’s so cool that everybody wants to use it!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 3:19 pm

The hot commodity around here are pens, specifically the Pilot G-2. They always go ‘missing,’ especially when I need one.

  • Katie February 25, 2013, 3:23 pm

The hot commodities around here are iphone charging cords and chocolate haha. It has happened on a few occasions that my stash of chocolate will be empty, and so I search out my husbands [which is usually found in the freezer] and enjoy 🙂

  • Debbie February 25, 2013, 3:32 pm

My favorite coffee mug is always MIA.

  • Abbey February 25, 2013, 3:33 pm

Chapstick! I’m normally the culprit though. I have an issue with not putting things back in their place 🙂

  • Genny February 25, 2013, 3:35 pm

Toilet paper, my hubs and I each have our own bathroom and we are always stealing each other’s rolls rather than getting new ones….ok so that’s kind of embarrassing now that I type it!

  • Talia February 25, 2013, 3:36 pm

    Chocolate!

  • Brent February 25, 2013, 3:38 pm

We covet boxes of Annie’s fruit bunnies in this house. Every time we buy them packages are hidden everywhere!

  • Lisa in IL February 25, 2013, 3:44 pm

phone chargers! I leave mine next to my dresser but my husband & daughter take theirs with them where ever they go & forget them, thus creating a need to constantly borrow mine.

  • Vicki February 25, 2013, 3:45 pm

Cool earbuds! The “hot commodity” in our house are my outdoor sandals. They are these gross, trashed sandals I’ve had since high school that sit right outside our back door for when we want to make a quick trip out to the garage or into the garden. If my husband is outside and I want to go outside too, it’s guaranteed that an argument ensues about where “my” sandals are (on his feet) and what am I going to wear if he’s wearing my sandals??? GAH! This has been a 10 year battle. 🙂

  • Navya February 25, 2013, 3:47 pm

The hot commodity at our home – iphone charger

  • Stephanie @ Food Fit 4 Real February 25, 2013, 3:52 pm

The pens in our kitchen junk drawer have a magical way of disappearing. I hate when I need to write something on the grocery list and ALL the pens are gone.

  • Cori February 25, 2013, 3:55 pm

The hot commodity in our house is fruit snacks. My kids would eat a whole box in one sitting if I let them. I have to put them up high and out of sight and give it to them sparingly!

  • Kellie February 25, 2013, 3:56 pm

the remote control. When I am mad at the kids I hide it.

  • Lindsay wells February 25, 2013, 4:01 pm

The hot commodity in our house is our dog, Finn. My husband and I argue over who gets to cuddle with him at night when we’re relaxing in front of the TV. He’s the most affectionate little pup!
Would love to win the headphones! Mine are all ranged up in a drawer somewhere, and barely work!

  • Lainie February 25, 2013, 4:03 pm

Definitely iPhone/iPad chargers! We have a million of them but can never find one when one of my devices is about to die!

  • Theresa J February 25, 2013, 4:08 pm

Socks are a hot commodity in our house. My son steals my husbands and my daughter and youngest son steal mine.

  • Katie B. February 25, 2013, 4:09 pm

Ice cream is definitely the hot commodity in our house!

  • Ailed Swearengin February 25, 2013, 4:10 pm

Headphones!!! We’ve gone as far as labeling them and they still manage to disappear.

  • Renee February 25, 2013, 4:10 pm

Lately, bananas have been a hot commodity here–sounds funny, but everyone wants them for cereal or smoothies.

  • Christina February 25, 2013, 4:12 pm

mechanical pencils! I’m always looking for one!

  • Lauren February 25, 2013, 4:13 pm

Hair ties are always disappearing in my house. Another thing is pens/pencils. I always catch family using the ones I’m looking for!

  • Hope February 25, 2013, 4:14 pm

Our hot commodity is definitely pens!

  • Caroline February 25, 2013, 4:21 pm

I think laptop chargers! I live with 5 other young professionals and we’re all always snatching up each others’! These headphones are so awesome–the wind whipped mine out of my ears on my run this weekend! I blame the cords.

  • Zoe Stern February 25, 2013, 4:22 pm

When I am with my sisters it’s my makeup! Always my makeup…that’s what happens with a 10 year old 🙂

  • Robyn February 25, 2013, 4:23 pm

I laughed when I scanned the comments and someone asked if it could be food. I’ll admit that’s one in my house, TJ’s Sweet Potato Chips to be exact!

  • Lisa C February 25, 2013, 4:24 pm

In my house it’s the remote. 6 girls are bound to want to watch different shows!

  • Monica February 25, 2013, 4:26 pm

The hot commodity is the cat! My fiance and I battle constantly for her attention (she’s a strange, people-loving cat).

  • Rachel February 25, 2013, 4:27 pm

TWEEZERS! Every time I turn around, my tweezers are gone for some crazy use and never returned to where they belong 🙂

  • Kate February 25, 2013, 4:27 pm

    Phone chargers!

  • Sara February 25, 2013, 4:28 pm

The hot commodity in my house is a pair of scissors!! We have two, and they are *supposed* to both be kept in the “junk Drawer,” but lo and behold they are never to be found when you really need them!

  • Netta February 25, 2013, 4:33 pm

The best spot on the couch! It’s usually a battle between one of us and the dog…

  • jessika February 25, 2013, 4:34 pm

The hot commodity in my house is pajama pants and beer. We’re constantly taking each others fleece pants, and it seems that when ever I look in the fridge, there’s an empty 6pack.

  • Angie February 25, 2013, 4:35 pm

My black sharpie. The kids are always using and misplacing it and then I buy a new one (or several). We have lots of black sharpies floating around the house!

I’d love to try some bluetooth headphones…

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 4:35 pm

My iphone charger and ear buds… Grrr!! 😉

  • Justine February 25, 2013, 4:37 pm

Since I live by myself, I don’t have to worry about anyone taking my stuff…unless it’s my cat eating random things!

  • Ilene February 25, 2013, 4:37 pm

My clothes in general haha but we’re in college so we just have one big closet full of everyone’s clothes to share all around 🙂

  • Sarah February 25, 2013, 4:39 pm

Chapstick is a big one. I always lose mine. And this one pair of black fuzzy shoes.

  • Candice February 25, 2013, 4:39 pm

Pens! The cats bat them around, so they’re always missing when we need one!

  • Beth February 25, 2013, 4:40 pm

    my fave Tiffany pen!

  • Erin February 25, 2013, 4:46 pm

    i want these sooo bad.
the hottest commodity in my house is leftovers!

  • lauren February 25, 2013, 4:50 pm

    I’m the culprit – my husband’s laptop.

  • Steph February 25, 2013, 4:51 pm

I’m not sure if it really is a hot commodity or I’ve made it up in my mind but I really act as if my office supplies are at risk at work. I label them, hide them, and generally have some serious control issues.

  • Melissa February 25, 2013, 4:53 pm

My boyfriend and I are both blanket hogs. Can never get enough of a cozy blanket. One of us always ends up waking up freezing cold and blaming the oth for stealing the blanket. Endless cycle!

  • Courtney @ Run-ista February 25, 2013, 4:54 pm

This is going to sound ridiculous, but socks are a hot commodity at my house. My boyfriend’s feet are at least twice the size of mine, but if he can’t find his own, he’ll have no problem stealing mine and squeezing his feet into them. Of course, he stretches them out in the process which makes them unwearable by me.

  • Lekki February 25, 2013, 4:58 pm

    Out toothbrushes. Gross, huh?

  • Marney February 25, 2013, 4:58 pm

I just started a new job at a university where the school color is purple. In our office all outgoing documents must be signed in purple (yes, I find it strange, too!!) Your pictures reminded me of our office- everyone has a place where they stash their purple pen so no one else will steal it- but everyone also knows everyone else’s purple pen stashing place. I don’t know why we buy anything except purple pens since we have this rule… but everyone’s desk has plenty of black and blue pens!

  • Amy February 25, 2013, 4:59 pm

    wineee

  • Annette February 25, 2013, 5:04 pm

Straws. I cannot leave them out or my cat will destroy them. He even recognizes them when they’re wrapped. A glass with a straw in it, left unattended, is a disaster waiting to happen.

  • Carolyn February 25, 2013, 5:07 pm

The maple syrup. I’m not sure if my husband is drinking it by the glass behind my back, or what – all I know is that I’ve had to buy a secondary secret bottle that only I know about, or else I’d never get any of the sweet stuff. And we’re Canadian, so, yeah – gotta have the maple or nothing at all!

  • Nicole February 25, 2013, 5:12 pm

Ours is definitely the iPod charger

  • Chelsea February 25, 2013, 5:13 pm

Our Apple laptop charger is the hot commodity at our house…my laptop battery can’t hold a charge, and my husband needs to charge his every once in a while, too 🙂 We should probably invest in another one…

  • Melissa February 25, 2013, 5:14 pm

Definitely the phone chargers in my house!

  • Kate February 25, 2013, 5:15 pm

Chargers. We are somehow down to one to charge our phones, ipods, and kindles. No idea where they all went!

  • Hannah February 25, 2013, 5:18 pm

The corner spot on the couch, or the last cup of coffee. And on the weekend, it’s both!

  • Jennifer February 25, 2013, 5:19 pm

In our house, especially in the winter, it’s chapstick. We each have a stash but we always misplace ours and are digging in the others stash. 😉

  • Nicole February 25, 2013, 5:24 pm

Socks! My husband always steals my tiny running socks and then they end up all stretched out!

  • Marissa @Barefoot Colorado February 25, 2013, 5:24 pm

Water bottles are what we argue over! WHO TOOK MY WATER BOTTLE. Now that I think about it it’s hilarious.

  • Jessica February 25, 2013, 5:25 pm

In our house it’s the spot next to mom in the bed. Our 3 kids start in their own beds and gradually creep into our bed during the night. I am often awoken by arguing over who’s turn it is to sleep next to me. It’s been 7 years since I have been a parent. When am I going to sleep through the night? ;o)

  • Matt February 25, 2013, 5:26 pm

    I’m a college student..my alcohol!

    • Caitlin February 25, 2013, 5:30 pm

      lol

      • Matt February 25, 2013, 5:32 pm

Other people might have elves hiding in their apartments stealing miscellaneous objects. I have a drunken dwarf!

  • Jen February 25, 2013, 5:28 pm

Chocolate coconut Luna bars! I can’t keep them in the house for more than 2 days!

  • Elizabeth V February 25, 2013, 5:28 pm

    Gum

  • Scott Eaton February 25, 2013, 5:31 pm

    First aide cream.

  • Ali @ Super Mario Twins February 25, 2013, 5:31 pm

Actually, we just had this discussion this weekend about how we’re always losing earbuds! There’s one pair that doesn’t work well and I keep forgetting to throw them out! I just bought a set on clearance at Marshall’s today and they were terrible. No wonder they were $5! They’ll be returned to the store tomorrow! Would love to win these earbuds, they look so comfy!

  • Stephanie February 25, 2013, 5:36 pm

I live by myself so there isn’t a hot commodity unless you count chocolate!!! 🙂

  • Megan O February 25, 2013, 5:39 pm

My good bourbon! I am really just a special occasion drinker but bought a really good bottle for a rich bourbon cake a while back, and keep the rest in the freezer for a rainy day that needs a cocktail or for company. However, my roommate, who loves her an after-work nightcap, starting “borrowing” from my bottle on a pretty frequent basis, til there was basically nothing left! (I made her replace it eventually lol)

  • Farrell February 25, 2013, 5:42 pm

apple headphones are the hot commodity in our house too!

  • Debr February 25, 2013, 5:45 pm

The usb charger is the hot commodity in the house. We currently only have one for 3 different electronics. We are always unplugging the others charging cord , even if something is charging. I think we better get another one soon or this may become a full on fight lol.

  • Jenn February 25, 2013, 5:46 pm

    The remote ha ha

  • Cellabella February 25, 2013, 5:49 pm

Drinking glasses! For some reason we keep breaking ours 😛

  • Michele February 25, 2013, 5:51 pm

The hot commodity in my house is chap stick!!! We don’t necessarily steal each other’s chap sticks, but there are definitely 121801 random chap sticks in every nook and cranny. Definitely comes in handy 🙂

  • Megan February 25, 2013, 6:08 pm

iPhone chargers!! we have two, but apparently need one for every room.

  • Chelsea February 25, 2013, 6:13 pm

Good leftovers!! When I clean up after dinner sometimes I’ll try to hide the left overs from
my fiancé. Nothing like having a craving all day & open the fridge to find nothing but disappointment!

  • Lisa February 25, 2013, 6:13 pm

I can’t really think of anything, but my husband and I are always breaking or losing our headphones…. We always get the cheap ones and they don’t last very long, so I would love to tries these out!

  • Lauren S February 25, 2013, 6:13 pm

The hot commodity in our house is oddly the last serving of cottage cheese!! And if I win these earbuds I think my husband will concede the next last serving to me without a fight since I will be giving these to him:)

  • Rebecca M. February 25, 2013, 6:15 pm

We are always looking for our water bottles!

  • Rebeccah February 25, 2013, 6:18 pm

Dental floss. We’re always arguing about who has it!

  • Jen February 25, 2013, 6:20 pm

For us, it’s the car keys! And we can NEVER find them. We should really get a key rack.

  • Jamie February 25, 2013, 6:21 pm

My headphones just broke yesterday and I am in the market for a new pair to wear running! The hot commodity in my house right now is my vacuum seal coffee mug. Just finally got it back yesterday!

  • Elaine February 25, 2013, 6:22 pm

It has to be the iphone charger! We have a bunch of them, but they are hard to fine when you actually need it!

  • ash February 25, 2013, 6:27 pm

    Our usb cords!

  • Patty February 25, 2013, 6:28 pm

In my office? The good pens – all you can ever find are the ones that barely write. Sooooo annoying

  • Kerry February 25, 2013, 6:30 pm

THERMOSES! No matter how many we have my roommates and I always seem to be fighting over the only two we can ever find.

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 6:35 pm

The hot commodity in my apt is the black Sharpie!

  • Shae February 25, 2013, 6:35 pm

PENS. I have a special kind of pen I like (Uniball) and they are seemingly always missing.

  • Erica February 25, 2013, 6:46 pm

The hottest commodity in our house is a super soft plush blanket. It is constantly a race to see who can snag it first each night after dinner.

  • lauren February 25, 2013, 6:49 pm

in my house it’s definitely string cheese! i can’t open one without my dog trying to swipe it

  • dani February 25, 2013, 6:58 pm

anytime there is a pack (or two) of gum in my house, my husband and i both do the same thing! we’re like squirrels hiding that stuff all over. after a few days everything has disappeared and we’re back at square one 🙂

  • Kristen E February 25, 2013, 7:00 pm

I have this giant, worn-in, comfy sweatshirt from high school…it’s my absolute favorite thing to lounge around in, and my fiance loves it too. Definitely hot commodity…first one to pull out of the clean laundry wins! 🙂

  • Amanda February 25, 2013, 7:01 pm

Well this is more of a hot commodity “category” but we are cutthroat with leftovers at my house. If you want your leftovers you have to CLEARLY label that they are yours!

  • Nicole February 25, 2013, 7:06 pm

The laptop. He’s always hogging it!

  • Ashley W February 25, 2013, 7:06 pm

I don’t have anything that anyone in my house tends to steal or want, that’s sad.

  • Sarah W. February 25, 2013, 7:09 pm

At our house it’s BlenderBottles. Between smoothies and protein shakes they are always in demand and in the dishwasher.

  • Erin February 25, 2013, 7:10 pm

My boyfriend has these and likes them a lot too – unfortunately since they’re customizable, I can’t steal them! I’d love a pair of my own.

I think the hot commodity at our house is the “good couch” we have two and one is HUGE (like as wide as a twin bed) and stuffed with down. It’s hands-down the best and the corner spot next to the side table is where we both go for.

  • Cindi February 25, 2013, 7:14 pm

Finger nail clippers! Somehow those are ALWAYS missing!

  • Debbie in WBL February 25, 2013, 7:18 pm

    Our one and only laptop!

  • Karen @ Runner Girl Eats February 25, 2013, 7:22 pm

Earbuds and phone chargers are equally as hot in our house. We have tons of them but can never actually find them!

  • Jennifer H February 25, 2013, 7:22 pm

Running armbands for our iPhones. We have two, and one is slightly better than the other. It’s a battle to get the good one.

  • Floey February 25, 2013, 7:24 pm

    A microwave 🙂 haha

  • Michelle February 25, 2013, 7:24 pm

My bf just showed me these this weekend!

The comforter is our hot commodity.
And on the rare occasion it is purchased…the Velveeta. 😉

  • stephanie February 25, 2013, 7:24 pm

At the office it’s ice, strangely enough. Sometimes I go mid-day to get ice for my drink and it’s all gone! (I live by myself so I can’t blame anyone for how the gum magically disappears).

  • Meg @ Anderstons in the Andes February 25, 2013, 7:25 pm

The hot commodities in my house are pillows and purified drinking water. We have to boil all our water in Peru and my husband is militant about every bottle being full at all times!

  • Laura @ Backstage Balance February 25, 2013, 7:26 pm

Toilet paper – we always have some around, but our dogs (two Australian Shepherds) and cat LOVE to steal the end of the roll and shred it, or run with it. It’s pretty hilarious, but who wants to use TP that someone’s already chewed on? We’ve resorted to keeping the TP “up high” so they can’t get at it!

  • Kelly February 25, 2013, 7:27 pm

    Definately the ipod charger.

  • Karen February 25, 2013, 7:28 pm

Its Double stuffed Oreos in my house!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 7:30 pm

The long end of the couch!

Definitely ear buds! Which is why getting a chance to try these would be awesome-o. 🙂

  • Heather P February 25, 2013, 7:33 pm

I have yet to find earbuds that don’t hurt my ears !! The hot commodity in my house is the kcups 🙂

  • Liz February 25, 2013, 7:45 pm

I live with 4 girls…and oddly it’s the Nail Polish Remover, someone ALWAYS is hiding it in their room.

  • Katie February 25, 2013, 7:45 pm

Diet Coke is a hot commodity in my house – it seems whenever I want to go have a glass it’s gone!! would love to try these ear buds – I have the same trouble with them hurting my ears as well.

  • Theresa February 25, 2013, 7:45 pm

The “hot commodity” in our house is definitely id-badges for our Y. Some family members have “misplaced” theirs and hoard the other family members’ badges…

  • Brandi February 25, 2013, 7:47 pm

We’re always looking for the universal charger!!

  • Jen February 25, 2013, 7:49 pm

  • Christine February 25, 2013, 7:50 pm

The iPhone/iPod chargers are always missing in our house!

  • Cat February 25, 2013, 7:51 pm

The hottest “commodity” has to be the keys to our garage which houses the workout equipment including the treadmill. We have a separate key chain with them on so whoever can get in there and it eliminates the risk of us locking our house keys in there. Anywho between my husband myself and my 2 year old who loves the “big boy’ keys it seems I need 45 minutes for that 30 minute workout. Guess we need to find a better system or maybe get 3 more extra keys 🙂

  • Holly February 25, 2013, 7:51 pm

Scissors! For some reason we LOSE scissors in our house!

  • Alex February 25, 2013, 7:52 pm

I’m always losing good pens, and I can’t stand to buy the cheap ones so I just splurge on the good ones again. Gah!

  • Laura February 25, 2013, 7:53 pm

iPhone & iPod chargers are priceless in our house! They disappear like single socks in the dryer…

  • Michal February 25, 2013, 7:59 pm

This is so funny because I was just telling my roomie how I seem to go through earbuds like crazy – my office pair have become dangerous to use (loose wires) and I accidentally left my home pair at the office today …..
But in terms of the hot commodity … it’s either ballpoint pens or bathroom keys. I keep accidentally taking my supervisor’s because they look exactly the same!

  • Erin February 25, 2013, 8:01 pm

Red Bull!! I know i know a lot of people frown upon this but I love the flavor so I buy a couple each grocery trip and the husband is always stealing them…NOOO!!!

  • kayla February 25, 2013, 8:01 pm

Socks!! My hubby’s socks are so comfortable! He has started hiding them from me!!!

The hot commodity in our house is coffee…especially on the weekends!

  • Chastity February 25, 2013, 8:08 pm

At work my hand lotion is always the “hot” commodity. You would think in an office full of women more than one person would keep lotion at their desk, but no!

  • Katryn February 25, 2013, 8:09 pm

Our fingernail and toenail clippers always seem to be MIA!

  • Tracy February 25, 2013, 8:12 pm

We have a really comfy chair & ottoman that each of us always wants to sit in!!

  • Jess February 25, 2013, 8:15 pm

Pens, mainly because we have to hide them from our little guy!

  • Audrey February 25, 2013, 8:20 pm

My hot commodity would have to be seasonal jar candles. I live with my sister, and my new Spring candles always seem to go missing right about now.

I have never seen wireless buds! I have the hardest time getting the white ones to stay in my ear. Constantly slipping out as I sweat and run. Those sound great!

  • Stacie February 25, 2013, 8:20 pm

The hot commodity in our house in our kitchen scissors – they are constantly missing — and it’s not like we don’t have other scissors in the house! 🙂

Coffee cups are hoarded in our house because we go through them so quickly!

  • Cate February 25, 2013, 8:47 pm

Gluten free pretzels! I’m the only person in the house who is actually gluten free, but everyone else has become addicted to them, too. I have to hide them whenever my sister comes home!

  • Danielle K February 25, 2013, 8:54 pm

There is a big green blanket on my couch that is the hot commodity. I always want to use it, but my hubby tries to steal it and my son likes to run around with it like a cape 🙂

  • Macrae February 25, 2013, 8:56 pm

My coffee mug! I have one that I use every single day. It’s the perfect size, not too bulky so that the lip of the cup interferes, and sturdy. Without fail, whenever we have guests my mug is the first to go!

  • Kerry February 25, 2013, 8:57 pm

Our hot commodity is bourbon 😉

  • Lauren February 25, 2013, 8:59 pm

My husband always steals my scissors! I have even started labeling mine so no one be confused but somehow they end up finding their way to his desk… he says they grow legs over night 😉

  • Lisa February 25, 2013, 9:00 pm

The phone charger! We have one of that charges any phone (multiple cord inserts) and it’s a battle almost every day to be the first to use it.

  • Christine February 25, 2013, 9:02 pm

A handknit scarf. Someone is always freezing!

  • Sarah J February 25, 2013, 9:02 pm

    My husband’s sweatshirts!

The laptop is always being stolen from each other! 🙂

  • Caroline February 25, 2013, 9:13 pm

Earbuds are also a hot commodity at my house! And wine haha- we always run low at the wrong times.

  • Krissy February 25, 2013, 9:15 pm

Ours is definitely water bottles. Usually it’s my fault because I hoard them in my car. Earbuds are definitely a close second. I feel like we are always down to one pair. (I hide them in my gloves! Don’t tell!)

  • Sara February 25, 2013, 9:17 pm

woohoo those look awesome! glad you found ones that fit
toilet paper is definitely a hot commodity ’round here

  • Lindsey February 25, 2013, 9:17 pm

  • Danielle February 25, 2013, 9:20 pm

  • Liz A February 25, 2013, 10:50 pm

Cookies! Or any kind of dessert. I savor things, and it takes me weeks to finish a box of Girl Scout Cookies. Husband could eat them all in one sitting, so we have to hide our treats from each other. Mostly me from him though!

  • brittany February 25, 2013, 10:51 pm

Pen theif! At my vet clinic, someone is always stealing my pen and my bandage scissors! At home, the freaking laudry machine eats all my socks so I never have a matching pair. How, tell me HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!! But I guess I am to blame for eating all the hummus (oh Sabra you do a girl proud) 😉

  • Amy @ What Jew Wanna Eat February 25, 2013, 10:55 pm

I would say my favorite BIG coffee mug has always just been used!

  • Carrie February 26, 2013, 12:34 am

Most definitely our iPhone/iPod chargers! Where do they go??

  • Mia February 26, 2013, 12:47 am

Pen thievery is a huge thing at my work. People are always demanding to see each others pens to try and find their lost/stolen/missing pens. It’s a hot button issue.

  • Stacey @Starpulp February 26, 2013, 12:50 am

We’re always stealing the covers from each other! Lol

  • Megan February 26, 2013, 12:53 am

Blankets! Mia, our dog is always stealing the blanket. And pillows!

  • Nicole February 26, 2013, 12:59 am

Hairties, seriously, I buy a massive pack and then 2days later I’m down to the last precious two and then a few days later nothing. I think there’s like a carpet monster eating all the hair ties!!

  • Ashley Y February 26, 2013, 1:22 am

There are a few hot commodities here: 1. Scissors- we had a bad habit of not always putting them where they go 2. Toe nail clippers- same situation 3. Phone charger- we lost one in our last move and seem to always need to charge our phones at the same time.

The toilet rolls, we run out so fast and we hide the last one from each other!!

  • applepommemanzana February 26, 2013, 5:43 am

Pens!! I like to buy nice pens with a fine point. The hubby doesn’t believe in paying money for things you can get for free at the bank. But what does he write with? Pens he filched from my collection. You’re welcome, sweetie.

  • Karen February 26, 2013, 5:56 am

The wall charger for our iphones, ipad, and ipod is definitely a hot commodity in our house. It’s so convenient and we’d be lost without it.

  • Kim February 26, 2013, 6:07 am

Computer charger. We both claim it’s ours, and have no idea where the second one went. Sharing is caring, right?

  • Lauren February 26, 2013, 6:09 am

Pens are a hot commodity. I’m a nurse so I have about a thousand of them and just when I’ve strategically put them in common places we use them they disappear.

  • Katie February 26, 2013, 8:23 am

Apple charging cord. We always move them to charge our phones or plug them into the computer. We are always on the hunt for where the cord went.

  • Aimee B February 26, 2013, 8:52 am

I’m not sure we have a hot commodity per se, but someone at my office ate all of my brownies over the weekend (it’s a tax & accounting office) and stole my favorite pen! Gah! I don’t even know how I functioned yesterday!

  • Stephanie February 26, 2013, 8:59 am

The “good” water bottles always seem to disapear!

  • Amanda February 26, 2013, 9:01 am

Gum is our hot commodity! I’ll buy myself a pack and my husband will steal it .. grrr

  • Beks February 26, 2013, 9:03 am

Right now, it’s socks. I just did laundry and all of my socks are GONE. I don’t think my mother has taken them, but you just never know. Time to go buy more, I suppose.

Those are pretty badass earbuds. Need to get more. I’ve got the ones that came with my HTC Rhyme, and the left earbud stopped working ( 🙁 ), so I’m on the hunt for new ones.

  • Emily February 26, 2013, 9:08 am

    Nail clippers! (Gross)

  • Dori February 26, 2013, 9:11 am

The hot commodity in my house is right toe socks – you need a right and a left because they go around each individual toe, and for some reason I have a drawer full of lefts and no rights. It makes no sense, and when I see a right I get really excited. They are all I wear to work out.

  • Jennifer February 26, 2013, 9:16 am

The hot commodity in my house is Greek yogurt, specifically Chobani 🙂

  • Danielle February 26, 2013, 9:34 am

Lol! This is a particularly “real life” post and I love it! The hot commodities in our house are our iPhone chargers and scissors, believe it or not. You’d think I’d just go out and buy a few extra pairs of scissors, but nope…playfully arguing over them is more fun 😀

  • Katy D February 26, 2013, 10:00 am

My iPhone – I have a game installed that my husband can’t get on his Droid so he is always stealing it, he’s obsessed. Drives me nuts!

  • Linda February 26, 2013, 10:26 am

It’s definitely slippers in my house!

  • Emma @ Fawn Log February 26, 2013, 11:02 am

The extra large travel coffee mug! My boyfriend and I fight over it. We really ought to just shell out the $10 for another one 🙂

  • Jody February 26, 2013, 11:03 am

Tupperware for sure! We can never keep it in the house

  • Cortney February 26, 2013, 11:21 am

The hot commodity in our house is definitely CHOCOLATE. My husband works from home and I work at an office to which I commute. If I did not keep an emergency secret stash of my own, I would never get to have any!

  • sandra February 26, 2013, 11:29 am

Pens go missing all the time, especially if it’s a “nice” one – the rare promo freebie pen that writes really smoothly.

  • Sara February 26, 2013, 11:45 am

My hubby seems constitutionally incapable of putting things in the same place twice, so we are constantly searching for things . . . the biggest victims seem to be his car keys, his phone and any set of fingernail clippers.

  • Kimberly C February 26, 2013, 11:45 am

The use of the tv after 8:00 PM.

  • Lindsay February 26, 2013, 11:49 am

Chapstick disappears in our house faster than anyone can imagine! I don’t know where they go! Well, that is, until I realized we were washing them in pants pockets, and they apparently got stuck in the lip on our high efficiency washer. Mmmm….three-month-old, damp chapsticks… Such is life, right? 🙂

  • roopa February 26, 2013, 12:07 pm

    iphone chargers!

  • Samantha S February 26, 2013, 12:12 pm

    Scissors!! They always go missing!

  • Julia February 26, 2013, 12:37 pm

Absolutely slippers. Our dog ate my pair, so I stole my husband’s. Now the three of us (my husband, the dog, and me) fight over the remaining pair.

  • Stephanie February 26, 2013, 12:40 pm

Definitely food. If I want to be sure that something is still in the fridge when I get home from work, I have to hide it from my husband!

  • Fallon February 26, 2013, 1:06 pm

I could have used these on my honeymoon during the 22 hour flight. I had my iPod earbuds and after a couple hours my ears were aching. In our house a hot commodity is definitely doggie poo bags. We always run out and often find them stashed in pockets and drawers around the house.

  • Kelsey February 26, 2013, 2:10 pm

Earbuds are a hot commodity at our house too! We buy the ones that are like $5 from Target because we go through them so fast!

  • Rachel February 26, 2013, 2:33 pm

  • Laura C. February 26, 2013, 2:34 pm

most definitely the scissors! they grow legs and walk away, never to return again….

  • Jenny February 26, 2013, 3:52 pm

The hot commodities in our house are headphones, iphone chargers, and leftovers (especially the yummy ones)!

  • Steph February 26, 2013, 3:57 pm

Travel mugs! More specifically ones with a lid. The lids always manage to disappear. Everyone always wants the vacuum sealing Costco contigo mug…

  • Amanda February 26, 2013, 3:59 pm

Blankets, especially this time of year!

  • Katie February 26, 2013, 4:09 pm

iPhone/iPad/iTouch chargers…we have 5 devices in our house total and we always seem to be short a few.

  • Axel February 26, 2013, 4:14 pm

I use the Jaybird Freedoms. I need the over-the-ear hook to keep them on, but I do like them. Not having to deal with the extra cord length is sweet.

I’m always having to borrow my wife’s Yoga mat… I’ve had at least two of my own, that the cat has destroyed or ruined…

  • Laura February 26, 2013, 4:26 pm

My husband and I are sharing a laptop charger so we’re always stealing it from each other.

  • Erin @ Living Made Healthy February 26, 2013, 4:44 pm

  • Laura @ The Bright Side February 26, 2013, 7:05 pm

My awesome (not) green hair turban!

  • DD February 26, 2013, 7:30 pm

food of any kind, especially take out or good leftovers!

  • Monica February 26, 2013, 7:51 pm

Socks! A matching pair is always hard to find, so when a perfect match is located, my sister takes them!

  • Melissa February 26, 2013, 8:05 pm

The hottest commodity in our house is bananas. We can never keep enough. Whenever I see the last one in the fruit bowl, I hide it in my lunch bag.

  • Nicole G February 26, 2013, 9:40 pm

Hottest commodity – the remote? Despite having three tvs, all with the same channels, there seems to always be a race to the couch on weekends to get the bigger tv or the tv closest to the kitchen.

Wow it makes my family sound really lazy – that we are not. We just have different tv preferences and enjoy watching tv late at night.

  • Mikella February 26, 2013, 10:06 pm

My roommate and I never seem to be able to lay hands on a pair of scissors when we need them. I swear we have 5 pairs around at all times, but we seem to always end up using kitchen scissors because they are the only ones that have a real home. Also, the torch lighter for lighting our candles. There is only one and I swear we hide it from each other. I’ve even found it outdoors!

  • Marla February 26, 2013, 10:36 pm

The hot commodity at my house is the iPad! Everyone wants to use it all the time. 🙂

  • Cassie February 27, 2013, 2:22 am

Nail scissors! My roommate and I are in a constant, passive-aggressive spat over whose nail scissors are whose. They look exactly the same, and like Chapstick, they seem to get lost all the time. Most recently, she announced that she couldn’t find ANY in the house, so she bought a new pair (for herself). I needed them one day when she was out, and I couldn’t find any in the bathroom cabinet. I peeked in the drawer where she keeps hair stuff. Three pairs of nail scissors! Three! Obviously, I took the one I think is mine and stashed it in my swim bag. Hopefully she won’t look there.

That’s a good question, I guess the hot commodity in my house would have to be my 365 brand almond milk. Neither my dad nor my brother are vegan, they both drink dairy milk, but they just love the taste of almond milk so much that they use it often. the funny part is that whenever I ask them if I should get a larger container of almond milk, they act all confused and say “why, you’re the only one who drinks it?” but I’ve seen them both using it often. Its funny, but I don’t actually mind that much 🙂

If you want a carrying case for another pair, I found an awesome idea on another blog long ago. I wish I could give credit but I can’t find the post. Buy a $2.00 Q-tip container (travel size). It is the perfect size and you can use the Q-tips too so no waste!
