Pets Make It Better

All through the day, I turn a corner and practically trip over a dog or a cat.  My pets like to hang out in the sunny spots, but those spots are always right underfoot.  Gotta pay attention, lest I make a Maggie pancake!

James looks like a doggie model in that pic, huh?

In addition to sleeping in all the great spots, Maggie has taken a serious liking to Henry.  I wrote about this a few weeks ago, but they have decided they are best buddies and hang out all the time.  He likes to play with her velvety ears.

And Pippa? Oh, Pippa.  I’m so glad we adopted Pippa.  She’s so funny and crazy.  Pippa goes into hibernation all day long (under the table, usually), and then appears at 9 PM to chase dust bunnies and stare at ghosts.  Sometimes, she wakes me up in the dead of night because she’s playing with Henry’s toys in the living room and meowing at his jumper.  She’s weird.  Thus, she hits right in.

The pets are a lot of work, but really, I don’t think we’d change a thing. They are well worth the effort. I love our wild and crazy house.

Pets forever!

This was such a heartwarming post to read. My family just lost my twelve year old childhood pup two days ago and miss her dearly already. Cherish every moment you have tripping over those pets- they’re angels on earth!

I agree. My dogs are both totally loco, but I love them to pieces. The house just wouldn’t be the same without them!

Pippa seems so normal compared to my two. I wake up nightly to Trouble head butting me for pets or sleeping on my pillow. Sometimes she sleeps on my chest or under the covers. More often than not though she does all of the above, nightly. Flair she likes to bring toys to bed wanting to play fetch. Hair clips, forks, balls, cough candies, coins, bottle caps, ect. Trouble sleeps all day then runs laps around 9pm bouncing into walls and doors. Flair sits on the coffee table staring at the laser waiting for you to make any movement that may mean you’ll play with her. She can hear you touch that thing from anywhere in the apartment. The moment my husband leaves she jumps into my lap for cuddles. I love my cats. Hey are über wierd and keep me company when my husband is out foun fire calls. I would sleep in my car before giving up my cats they are family and would never abandon them.

And yes I am crazy enough to give my cats their own blog. Lol. Although its been a while since I updated it.

James does look like a pet model there, such a serious expression. I’m constantly tripping over dogs but wouldn’t change it for the world. Mine plus all those I help at the shelters bring me peace, happiness and reminder of what’s important in life! :)

Ha, James is giving the blue steel look. Love it. I wish I didn’t have any allergies so that I could have a pet filled house too!

I think I will always have a doggie! I wish we could have more than one, but just not feasible in our small house. Someday :)

I love my pets. They’re all so crazy and different (and cliquish. Two of our cats refuse to hang out with our dog or my cat, so these two hang out together. I frequently find them cuddling). We have one cat who is regal as a queen (and deigns to let us live in her house), Henry who is tough as an alley cat, but has the nickname “Catstrati” (Has has a really high-pitched meow for a boy cat), Jane’s a scaredy cat, and attached to my hip, and Frisket is our dog, who just wants to play. He looks like an Ewok.

People with pets just don’t understand the power these guys hold over us. They really make life more complete. :-)

My Jack Russell puppy,Otto, is 5 months old & always at my side. My cat Tubby is 14 years old & also nearby. Aren ‘t pets wonderful company?
I am teaching Otto to run with me in the mornings. He can hike 3 miles but running will take more training!

Pets ARE the best, aren’t they?! I love how Maggie has really grown to love Henry. I have a very big 110lb rottweiler, but he is just the sweetest thing with children. At 1.5 years old he has NO idea how large he is, and he is full of energy. He has a habit of running under peoples legs, and if you aren’t paying attention it is very likely he will pick you up while doing so or accidentally knock you over. But with children he is so delicate, it is a really cool thing to see. Our 4 year old neighbor has a balance disability and falls a lot, but he and Bo are like two peas in a pod. He climbs all over Bo, and Bo knows to just let him do his thing and catch him when he falls. Everyone needs a pet!

We have two cats and a tortoise….the tortoise loves hanging out in the sun, too! (He’s a house tortoise on occasion!)

My fiance recently got a boxer puppy. I am a bit apprehensive as I’m not a pet lover, but your post makes me feel better :) I think he will grow on me!
