I’ve always wanted to do this, too! Though I’d just like to visit NYC for a day or two. love the fog 🙂

Nice job. I like the pictures a lot!

  • Lisa January 30, 2013, 8:56 am

Great pictures 🙂 Everyone should get the chance to run in Central Park at least once, it is so awesome!

  • Army Amy* January 30, 2013, 8:58 am

High five for knocking out those items on your list left and right!*

  • Nadine January 30, 2013, 8:59 am

I hope you ran with a buddy–looks ominous!

  • Katie @ Peace Love & Oats January 30, 2013, 9:12 am

Your run looks gorgeous! I’ve only been to New York once, when I was a junior in High School! That was… 8 years ago! I’d really love to go back.

  • Nina January 30, 2013, 9:29 am

Central Park looks scary on those pictures, but scary in a good way! I would like to visit NYC oneday, and the first thing I would do would probably be running in Central Park. All those NYC running blogs got me hooked!

  • Meghan @ Rhymes with Dots January 30, 2013, 9:33 am

Oh man, this is awesome. I’m going to New York at the end of next month for work and running through Central Park is at the top of my to-do list! I love that second picture. What route did you run?

  • Allison January 30, 2013, 9:35 am

    How awesome!!

  • Elisabeth January 30, 2013, 9:36 am

Some great photos there! Congrats on crossing 2 off the list already 🙂

  • Anne Weber-Falk January 30, 2013, 9:49 am

Two down and only 27 more to go! Yay for you!! I really like that first foggy photo, the one after the map. It’s lovely. Sorta looks old and very Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Have a great time NYC.

I love New York! Very jealous that you’re there right now. Congrats on already knocking 2 off the list- with progress like that, you’ll hit all 29 no problem.

  • Molly@This Life Is Sparkling January 30, 2013, 10:24 am

I would love to run through Central Park! Looks so beautiful.

  • Jessica January 30, 2013, 11:18 am

Hi! I need to know: is it SUPER hilly?! My first half marathon post baby is in central park and i live in philly so hill training has only been happening once a week on the ‘mill. I am scaaarrred! Do share!

    • Sarah W. January 30, 2013, 3:47 pm

Most of central park is pretty flat. The elevation changes that are there are very gradual. If you know the race course you could plot it out on mapmyrun.com and see what elevation change you can expect and at what mile the changes occur.

I did a 5K in NYC when I lived there during a two-month internship and it is still my favorite 5k!

      • Jessica January 31, 2013, 10:35 am

Thank you so much! i am waiting for them to post the race map…

        • Caitlin January 31, 2013, 10:43 am

Hi 🙂 sorry I couldn’t respond yesterday. I would say its moderately hilly. If you look at my Race Recaps, I did a half marathon in Central Park new years ago. Have fun!

  • Emilia January 30, 2013, 1:01 pm

Congratulations on crossing off your first goal! What a spectacular one to start with. I got to say, I’m a bit jealous. I’ve lived in NYC more/less my whole life but I’ve never run through central park. Thinking that needs to change on my next trip home, I’m feeling inspired! 🙂

  • sara @ fitcupcaker January 30, 2013, 1:25 pm

looked like a scary run a little…but good job, your not knocking them off right and left! You go girl!

  • Anne January 30, 2013, 1:54 pm

Thats awesome! Great pictures….what a neat morning to run through Central park 🙂 Keep it up!

  • Sarah @climbinvegan January 30, 2013, 2:27 pm

Eek! I’m going back in three weeks to visit all my friends…. it looks pretty foggy and gross there!

  • Rachel @ Eat, Learn, Discover! January 30, 2013, 2:37 pm

Nice! Funny, I’ve lived in NYC for 4 years, and have yet to go running in central park (granted I only started running outside about 1.5 years ago. and I live downtown).

But still, definitely added to my realistic bucket list!

  • Angela January 30, 2013, 3:39 pm

What a fun run! Just curious…do you carry any sort of protection while you run, especially in unfamiliar places? This sounds silly but your pictures were a little spooky and I remembered Kevin from Home Alone in Central Park and how scared that used to make me. Hahaha

  • Lara January 30, 2013, 4:57 pm

How long are you in NYC? I work in the city – live in NJ – care for a meet up ?

    • Caitlin January 30, 2013, 7:17 pm

Aw I’m on my way home now! Dratz!

  • Katie @ Talk Less, Say More January 30, 2013, 6:23 pm

Oh man, such beautiful photos of a beautiful city. I LOVE New York City so much. 🙂

  • Joli January 31, 2013, 10:12 am

Where you in NYC for that Kotex event? I thought you swore by the ol’ Diva Cup?

  • Elizabeth February 2, 2013, 12:01 pm

Coming out of lurkdom to say that I’ve lived in NYC since July and have not run through Central Park, although I’ve had numerous chances. When I first moved here, I lived very close by the Park, then after I moved one of my co-workers was visiting the NY office and was looking for someone to run with him in the morning, not to mention that I was registered for 2 half marathons that took place in the park and bailed on both. I’m registered for another half this month…I’m determined to make it!

Also…you were right by my office in Times Square, that last picture is a view I see every day, only I was on the other side of the country this week!
