Squashed

in All Posts

We didn’t see Santa today.  However, Henry did have his first (indoor) pool experience, which was oh-so-exciting for everyone involved.  Henry also discovered that smashing pears and squash between his toes feels really, really cool.  We’re working on getting the food in his mouth.

Thankfully, pears and squash happened before our dip in the pool.  No need to take two baths in one day, right?

Right.

Our lunch was so, so tasty.  I’ve been trying to create more ‘winter’ flavors.  This one was a keeper.

In the quinoa dish:

Red quinoa (tastes pretty much like regular quinoa to me)

Stir-fried carrots and raisins (in coconut oil)

Chopped pecans

Beets

Lentils

With roasted squash on the side.

The baby is napping, and I should probably use this opportunity to scrub mushed-up squash out of the cracks of his play mat… Smile

Henry is the cutest! Cheers to not creeping the newborn out by Santa! There’s always next year.

FYI the best “swim diaper” you could ever buy is just a cloth diaper shell. I chose two used Grovia one-size shells and they’ve my daughter’s swim diaper for 2 years of swimming. Not sure how much disposable swim diapers are but I’m sure after 2 years the $30 has paid for itself many times over!

Red quinoa totally tastes the same as other colors, but it’s so much prettier! I love it.
