Par-Tay

in All Posts

When I walked into the kitchen this morning, it looked like this.  Whew.  Someone had quite the dinner par-tay last night.

My sister-in-law came over and we exchanged Christmas gifts since she’ll be out of the country on the actual holiday.  The Husband made dinner, I made brownies, and it was loads of fun.  A messy kitchen is always a good sign!

So upon discovering my destroyed kitchen, I made coffee and simply moved all the dirty dishes around the sink to make them neater, giving my kitchen the appearance of tidiness without having to actually wash anything.  <—Anyone else do this?

Thank goodness Henry is sleeping better – I’d be a zombie today otherwise!

A simple breakfast.

Melon, toast with Earth Balance, eggs and Soy Chorizo.

On my agenda: It’s a rest day so lots of laziness.  We may seek out Santa Claus (torturing the baby, one strange, jolly man in a red velvet coat at a time).

Have a good one!

Oh, I do the re-arranging of the dirty dishes all the time! I bet you’re so excited for Henry’s first Christmas. I can’t wait to see his picture with Santa! Random question – what’s the story behind the 4 stockings? Is one for the sis?

Oh me + husband + dogs.

What??? No stocking for Henry? Or is Santa bringing one? For his first Christmas, he deserves one! (even if nothing is in it-ha.)

The first thing I noticed was that sponge holder which made me laugh! Happy Saturday!

Hehe yep, I do that dish stacking thing too! Today is going to be full of lazy for me too. Well, lazy and laundry and grocery shopping. I just got back from a work trip and I need to get my life and house back in order! Have a great one Caitlin!

Yep, rearrange dishes all the time. I think I secretly hope that boyfriend will do them before I get around to it. Also, I LOVE your dish ware. Sort of simple funky.
    Good luck with Santa today!

If you decide to see Santa, go to South Park. I took the baby there, and that Santa is awesome! Not at all scary. 🙂

Ha! I rinse and stack my dirty dishes so neatly my family has to ask if they are dirty or clean! I LOATHE washing dishes!

dinner parties are the best!! love that your husband took the reigns and cooked, too. please share what was on your menu! it’s always hard for me to come up with guest-worthy dinners to actually serve to someone else!

That would drive me nuts! I hate clutter on my countertops. Do you not have a dishwasher?

Henry may surprise you with Santa. My kids never had much stranger anxiety as babies so we got some cute pics. Actually my 3 1/2 yr old is more afraid of him now than she ever was as a babe!

You dishes part made me think of that scene from that Jennifer Aniston movie the break up, and how she always does them the night before to make sure it’s not a mess in the morning. And then she had her little “I want you to want to do the dishes” meltdown that I replicate in variations for my husband ALL the time.

  • Sarah @ Yogi in Action December 8, 2012, 4:11 pm

haha I rearrange the dishes all the time just so that it looks cleaner. Glad to know I’m not the only one who does this!

  • Erin December 8, 2012, 5:22 pm

Your kitchen looks like mine on a good day! Hahahah!!! Looks like you had fun!

  • Katie @ Talk Less, Say More December 8, 2012, 8:47 pm

Sounds like a fun evening! And sounds like a well deserved day of relaxing and being lazy!

I don’t want to do Santa and my husband does. I want to teach my future kids the real story of Saint Nicholas. We’ll figure it out once it comes up! Oh and I definitely organize the dishes in the sink. I don’t put them on the counters, but I will totally leave one half of the sink free to be able to refill our reusable water bottles or to rinse something else. Yeah the hubby thinks I’m crazy…

Okay, maybe it’s just me, but since you posted your training plans the other day, I can only read your blog on my laptop? Now if i try it on the ipad (using safari on both) everything but the photos is hidden behind a repeating pattern of the training plans! Is this happening to anyone else?

    • Caitlin December 9, 2012, 8:10 am

weird! try clearing your cache. it’s prob your computer and not the blog. so sorry! let me know if it doesnt clear up!

      • Max December 9, 2012, 8:13 am

Well, I haven’t done anything and after 2 days it is suddenly back to normal…. How odd!

  • Courtney December 9, 2012, 12:09 pm

This website has pretty good prices for personalized stockings. We just got ours last week and they look great, not cheap looking at all (and I’m pretty picky).
