Working Lunch

Wrapping up the week on a work note at the office.  We’re feeling productive, banging out meeting after meeting and task after task.  I think I’m going to go for a run in a bit – the running areas around the office are so nice, and I could definitely use a change of scenery!

We took a nice lunch break at Fern.  When we spotted the Mint Mocha latte on the menu, we immediately jumped on it.  Made it almond milk, it was creamy and sweet and delicious.  I wish I hadn’t had to share.

And for my entrée:

The Buddha Bowl – a mix of pink rice (when the server said it came with pink rice, I said, “OOOOOH PINK RICE??! And was kind of disappointed that it wasn’t fuchsia pink) and locally sourced veggies.  So good.  You know how you feel kind of sick to your stomach when you eat something greasy and heavy and salty for lunch – even if it tastes reaaaaally good?  Yeah.  This meal was the exact opposite.  I ate it and felt energized and satiated and warm and full.

A little more work to do, and then we’re freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.  Happy Friday!

Do you take Henry with you to restaurants? I think Marea would get so bored! We have not taken her to a restaurant yet.

That’s okay. It was his nap time anyway, right? 2.5-3 hrs after Nap 1. :)

So, was Henry in the car or on the floor?

Um I’m hoping this isn’t a serious question… You can’t leave a baby in the car while you go have lunch (??).

That place looks excellent – I’ll have to add it to my list next time I’m in town visiting family. I want to go there and other place you have talked about several times – lunas kitchen or something like that?!

I totally had a greasy salty lunch today and am feeling the blah effects of it. Pictures of colorful fruits and vegetables have a strange angel chorus soundtrack. I think I know what I’m doing do dinner. Probably juice.

I hear ya on the greasy lunch front. Today I had the choice of making a quick dash into a fast food place but I knew I’d be feeling yucky afterward. Soooo, instead I popped into a grocery store and bought a delicious apple, chicken, walnut salad which I’m enjoying as we speak. Good decisions make a difference, right? ;)

That is so interesting about cats not being able to be vegetarian. I hope that you are going to make sure that your cat continues to get meat. I don’t think any cat deserves to go blind!

Looks so good! What kind of sauce was on top of the veggies?

My dog doesn’t have any weird eating traits but now that my daughter is old enough she loves bringing the food over to him, piece by piece. It’s super cute but ugh, she smells like dog food!
