I feel you, Pip.

I am flying through my pre-holiday chores.  I’ve still got to do all the floors (ugh) and tidy the kitchen, but I decided that scrubbing the kitchen would be a waste of time since the Thanksgiving 2012 bomb is about to go off.  The one thing working in my favor right now is that Henry has finally figured out how to nap consistently (yay, sleep training <— I owe you a post on this), and it’s definitely given me more freedom around the house.

Keeping it super simple today – brown rice, lentils, carrots, and celery.  With Earth Balance buttah on top.

How’s your day?

I hope that post on sleep training is coming soon.

    Sincerely,
    A mom who’s baby won’t nap!!!!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Sleep training is simple and either your baby is going to love it or hate it. We follow the EASY plan (google it). It’s basically eat, activiy, sleep then your time. My baby is 12 weeks and is up for 1.5 hours max then follows by a nap of anywhere of 1 hour to 2 hours. She also sleeps through the night with a bedtime routine of shower or bath, lotioin, diaper, footed warm jammies, bottle and bed. She sleeps 9PM-9AM with only waking up once at 6AM to eat.

        Nice, Irene.

The thing for me was accepting that, if you choose to sleep train, all forms of sleep training include some crying, and that crying will not kill him or her. It’s not easy but it works QUICKLY.

I tried to follow EASY, but my boy still catnapped so the ‘Eat’ part was happening when he wasn’t hungry yet and it all fell apart. Now the only thing I do is make sure I put him down to sleep after the same amount of awake time each time. His nighttime sleeps are fine and his naps are slooooowly getting longer

My dog tries to pee on everything in the pet store (and sometimes succeeds) – so embarrassing!

I am looking forward to the sleep training post as well. My daughter is 9 weeks and sleeps through the night (yay!) but is not doing the nap thing (occasionally in the stroller). So I’ll be interested to hear how you worked through that. 🙂
    Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ve been waiting to hear how sleep training went! I’m in the midst of doing it myself and it SUCKS. Can’t wait to read about your experience, and hopefully I’ll pick up some tips from you!
