Monday Massage

in All Posts

Mondays are Bradley Method class night.  I like the classes because they are fun and interesting; I do not like the classes because we sit on the floor and my butt ends up hurting.  Whine, whine.  I know.

Actually, I really liked tonight’s class because the second part consisted of me pretending to have contractions (AKA relaxing on the floor with my head on a pillow) while the Husband rubbed my back and whispered sweet nothings in my ear.  Um, score.  Hi, my name is Caitlin, and I wish that actual labor will be exactly like the practice contractions in class.

So – yes.  That was my Monday in a nutshell.  Work, work, work, sweet nothings.  Not so bad at all.

Eats included:  peanut butter slam smoothie.

A super quick dinner of eggs, toast, salad, and an apple.  I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve had this exact same meal recently.

I’m gonna go rummage up a snack and hit the hay.

Peanut butter slam smoothie? Can I have one?! that sounds amazing!

And Eggs on toast with an apple and salad are some of the best dinners because they are so easy, quick and nutritious. It’s become one of my go-tos, especially when I don’t actually feel like cooking.

I hope that real labor is still a good experience for you! I’d get the husband to practice massaging more often 🙂 Have you had any prenatal massages?

Glad your Monday wasn’t too painful! One day down 🙂 Eggs are always a good choice! Yum.

Just because I know someone will say it so it might as well be me – you think THAT makes your butt hurt? Hehe. Just you wait…:)

Will you recap exactly what labor feels like? No one talks about itttt!

Seriously, I would pretend I’m in labor for that right this second! I’ve been eating a similar meal lately too. Eggs are the easiest tastiest protein around. Have a great night Caitlin!

Are there any husbands in your class that seem totally awkward? I dread the day I have to ask my husband to go to one of those… 😉

    • CaitlinHTP March 13, 2012, 11:29 am

Yes but I think they are just nervous! Understandable.

my friend used bradley and loved it!!! i wish i had looked into it when i was pregnant! she didnt go to the hospital till she was 7 cm and her husband stayed by her side using what they learned in class the whole time. she raves about it. i am def. going to look into it the next time around since my labor was not the best!

When you’re that pregnant, you can whine about anything that hurts. And you can whine as much as you want to. Go for it.

Haha I’ve had that same dinner quite frequently lately too! Even on days when I have time to actually cook I find myself craving dippy eggs more than tofu!

  • Kelly March 13, 2012, 8:27 am

I have been eating a lot of eggs and toast too. I also had strawberry jelly. It is so comforting to me!

  • Leah @ Chocolate and Wild Air March 13, 2012, 9:46 am

Your Carolina smoothies always sound so good – makes me want to take a little trip just to try them!!

  • Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife March 13, 2012, 11:11 am

I love eggs and toast!! SOOOO delicious!

  • Katie March 13, 2012, 12:28 pm

Ha! I also loved those Bradley classes! We’re on class 10 this coming week- this past week was “advanced 1st stage techniques” and I was really hoping we’d do more practice labor so I could get my back rubbed. Alas, we did not. 😉 I don’t know if you’ve felt like this but our Bradley class (2 couples and a single mom) has begun to feel like a little family- I’ll miss it when it’s over!

I am stuck in a food rut right now too, at least it’s a tasty one! Peanut butter slam smoothie sounds awesome.
