Today’s breakfast brought to you in part by an old 7-11 gas station:

A very tasty production, indeed. Sometimes, you’ve got to really rummage for a good breakfast when traveling for work.

IMG_7389

Worth the effort.

I’m saving some of the fruit for later, but the granola and peach Chobani hit the spot.

Especially with pulpy orange juice.  Can we talk about OJ pulp?  The Husband HATES pulp in orange juice, so we always buy big cartons of pulp free – but whenever I travel or buy a single-serving OJ, I always get pulpy orange juice.  I love it.  I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want pulp!

The other thing in production this morning…

A workout.  It’s been really challenging to squeeze in workouts with so much work travel.  But – look!  I packed my sneakers and my gear, so I had to find the time to spare this morning for a sweaty hotel gym session.

25 weeks preggers and still doing heel clicks.  Winning!

I did an interval elliptical workout and some weights.  When I do an interval session on the elliptical machine, I alternate resistance, position, and speed so that I do hard sprints every two minutes or so for a minute.

Time to pull myself together – stay tuned for The Naked Face Project update!

  • Liz @ Tip Top Shape March 2, 2012, 8:51 am

  • Erin March 2, 2012, 8:54 am

  • Kelly March 2, 2012, 8:58 am

  • Stellina @ My Yogurt Addiction March 2, 2012, 8:59 am

I might be in DC all next week so I’m scrambling to find a healthy hotel there. it’s nuts.

  • Cait @ Beyond Bananas March 2, 2012, 9:00 am

I am like your husband and can’t stand pulp in OJ!!

Way to fit that workout in!

  • Gina @ Running to the Kitchen March 2, 2012, 9:01 am

  • Lindsay @ The Reluctant Runner March 2, 2012, 9:05 am

I was staying at a HEI the weekend before last and I’d recognize that cinnamon granola anywhere–it was so good! I’m impressed that you passed up the pancake machine for the novelty of it alone!

  • Emily March 2, 2012, 9:08 am

Nice work forcing yourself to go to the hotel gym. I always find that tough!

  • Khushboo March 2, 2012, 9:09 am

I have a strong urge to try doing a heel click!

  • Coco March 2, 2012, 9:12 am

Haha.. Your just too cute- that picture is awesome! I think its amazing that your staying so active during your pregnancy- especially with all the travel! When I drove cross country searching for good and healthy food was always a challenge.. but if you put in a little effort (and stock up at the continental breakfasts) you can put together some good meals 🙂

  • Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat March 2, 2012, 9:13 am

That is an awesome photo Caitlin!! I’m on team pulp-free… I just don’t like the bits getting in the way!

  • LizW March 2, 2012, 9:18 am

My sister calls the pulp “hair”. I can see why she wouldn’t want to drink it if that’s what she thinks of it. But I love it! 🙂

  • Brittney March 2, 2012, 9:23 am

    Team pulp all the way!

  • Caroline @ After Dinner Dance March 2, 2012, 9:29 am

I hate pulpy orange juice too!

  • Katie @ Peace Love & Oats March 2, 2012, 9:30 am

Congrats on getting in the workout! Haha and I always have trouble scouring gas stations for good snacks (especially gluten free ones…), I’m surprised you found that chobani!

  • Kelly March 2, 2012, 9:42 am

I LOVE that heel click picture! You go girl!

  • beatrice March 2, 2012, 9:47 am

would you mind telling me what’s your brand of granola?

    • CaitlinHTP March 3, 2012, 8:58 am

Hmm i can’t remember!!! it was a gift from the college.

  • Caity @ Gym Rag March 2, 2012, 10:04 am

MMM orange juice pulp is great!
Perhaps this is what you meant when you said you alternate “position” on the elliptical, but I find it’s very effective to do have of your workout pedaling forwards, and half pedaling backwards. Pedaling backwards is more challenging and works your leg muscles differently (and uses more stabilizing muscles) than pedaling forwards.
    🙂

  • Claire @ Live and Love to Eat March 2, 2012, 10:06 am

I love all the options on ellipticals for interals – backward, forward, resistance and incline!

  • Christine @ BookishlyB March 2, 2012, 10:08 am

I cannot handle pulp in my OJ. It makes be feel like a Baleen Whale.

  • Mariel March 2, 2012, 10:21 am

Ahh, I hate pulp! When I was little, I used to say that I didn’t want “crumbs” in my orange juice 🙂

  • Ashley @ Cooking for John March 2, 2012, 10:22 am

    I adore pulpy orange juice!

  • Britt @ BalancedBritt March 2, 2012, 10:24 am

Love the heel kick picture 🙂 Sometimes I think piecing together a healthy breakfast is a fun challenge. I do it all the time at work since I work in a hospital. Navigating my way around the junk food and finding healthy options is a little challenge everyday, lol.

  • Amanda March 2, 2012, 10:39 am

Kudos for eating well and exercising while traveling! I’ve been traveling a lot for work the past year and find that if I can eat well (especially when the meals are by myself, not out with clients), exercise, and get enough sleep, it’s actually a nice little recharge/solo time trip!

  • Heather @ For the Love of Kale March 2, 2012, 10:40 am

Your heel-kick picture is a gem. You remind me of a fit and healthy leprechaun. …and I mean that in the nicest and least-weirdest way possible.:-) Haha!
    Regardless, you’re one hott mama-to-be!

P.S. – I watched your Naked Face new video the other day and was so pumped to see my Naked Face at the beginning of it! It totally made my day. You and Molly are total rock stars.

  • Sophie @ threetimesf March 2, 2012, 11:18 am

Ewwww pulp!! It’s the texture…it really freaks me out!!

  • Johanna B March 2, 2012, 11:38 am

I’m a pulp in the juice person as well. Go pulp!!!

  • Samantha March 2, 2012, 12:03 pm

I don’t like pulp in my OJ either, so I’m siding with your husband on this one, ha. And are you doing that heel click with the camera on self-timer? Because if so, that = quirky and unbelievably awesome 🙂

  • Britt March 2, 2012, 12:05 pm

Try doing heel clicks at 35 weeks pregnant!!! It’s a whole nother story!

    • CaitlinHTP March 3, 2012, 8:57 am

Hahah I love it. I will prob only get like 2 inches off the ground at that point 🙂

  • Jessica @ The Process of Healing March 2, 2012, 12:21 pm

I’ve been ADDICTED to orange juice lately! I don’t know what it is. I like the Tropicana with SOME pulp, I like a little but not heavy pulp.

  • Allison K March 2, 2012, 12:27 pm

Love the heel click picture. At 31 weeks pregnant…I miss being 25 weeks pregnant. Everything is getting much harder now!

  • Abby @ Abz 'n' Oats March 2, 2012, 12:44 pm

I’m definitely team pulp! I buy the stuff with the maximum amount of pulp possible. lol.

  • Kelly March 2, 2012, 2:05 pm

    LOVE that picture!

  • kate March 2, 2012, 2:12 pm

dude, i like my oj super pulpy. husband hates it! but honestly, it’s like a smoothie then!

  • Amber K March 2, 2012, 2:31 pm

Pulp is so…pulpy? Blech. At least this is something Aubrey and I can agree on. No pulp! 🙂

  • Mary March 2, 2012, 3:35 pm

    Very impressive heel click!

  • Kelley March 2, 2012, 4:02 pm

    Pulpy OJ Rules!!!

HAHAHA Glad to see you ‘Jump’ with the baby too! My baby and I did ‘Leaps’ for ‘Leap Year’ this week! baby loves jumping! http://kelocity.com/2012/02/29/happy-leap-day/

  • Katie @ Katie Without Restrictions March 2, 2012, 5:26 pm

I definitely take my oj pulp free! And hubby doesn’t drink it at all 🙂

  • Amy March 2, 2012, 7:26 pm

ooo i love pulp in my oj..or any juice. it just tastes so much fresher i love it!

  • Debbie~ March 2, 2012, 7:27 pm

No pulp for me..I hate that sludge that forms on the inside of the glass..shudders!!!!

  • BroccoliHut March 2, 2012, 8:03 pm

Pulpy OJ is actually much better for you nutritionally. Not only does the pulp contain extra fiber, but it also binds the vitamins and minerals that are in the orange. So drink up!

    • CaitlinHTP March 3, 2012, 8:56 am

      SEE! Pulp for the win!

  • Leila @ Spinach and Skittles March 2, 2012, 9:38 pm

Nice heel click! I can’t do that and I’m NOT 25 weeks pregnant, haha. The hubs and I are the opposite – I hate pulp and he loves it. Whenever he buys pulpy oj I whine and moan about it 🙂

  • Jen March 3, 2012, 2:49 am

Hahahaha…LOVE the heel click – you are definitely one of life’s winners! 🙂

As for the pulp, I guess I can deal with it if I have to, but would just as soon not… (Yes, I KNOW that it’s healthier!) 🙂
