Whoa. Monday is over. Thank goodness, right? Mondays are always wild over here – too much to do and too much to catch up on. We worked at the clinic all day and well into the night. I rushed home for lunch to let out the pups and make lunch.
Brown rice, tahini sauce, broccoli slaw, and leftover baked tofu. With a little hydration station of orange juice and coconut water.
Munched on a bag of baby carrots on the way back to work.
A few hours later, I dug into my purse for a Larabar (anyone else keep emergency snacks in their bag?!). This flavor is excellent.
And by the time we got home at 7:45, all I could muster the energy for was Greek yogurt, caramel sauce, blueberries, and raw oats.
Side note: doesn’t Maggie have the cutest, most wrinkly neck ever?
Plus loads of these delicious bites of air.
I should probably go eat another vegetable or something.
Thought of the Day:
Happy early Valentine’s Day!

Um, I support them. Here is what’s currently in my purse:
-two packets of peanut butter
-one packet of trail mix
-two Clif granola bars
-two lollipops
-a bag of cheese popcorn
It’s a bit out of control.
Yes, I definitely keep snacks with me! I always have a little container of raw nuts with me – hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc.
I used to carry a whole bunch of snacks (especially when I was in University and commuting). I’d also store all kinds of stuff in my locker–including juice boxes. Everyone knew me as the go-to girl to get your snack fix.
I always bring a sliced up apple and some kind of granola bar (today it was a cherry pie larabar!) to school with me! Sometimes I try and keep a stash of raw almonds in my bag too, just in case!
I usually have a little something in my purse – and I throw extra things if I’m going somewhere for the day. I try and keep some lara or luna bars in my car as well!
I wish I could, but if I have food with me while I’m out and about, I automatically eat it, no matter how hungry I am. I try to just figure out what I’ll eat for the day in the morning, and keep my afternoon snack in the car for after work/before dinner.
LOL @ Maggie’s Jowls. She takes after her namesake a bit.
I’ve got a bag of almonds in the truck, a couple of granola bars in my school bag and purse. I never let myself go without because when hunger strikes, I will eat anything!
I think my favorite of it all is the oatmeal, blueberry, yogurt and caramel sauce
Simple and quick is sometimes the best. I’m glad Monday is over too…wishing you a calmer Tuesday!
Emergency stashes are a must. I like Justin’s Maple Almond Butter (best when paired with apples or bananas), Lara Bars, dry roasted edamame, and Primal Strips vegan jerky.
On another note, your broccoli slaw & brown rice look awesome!
My coworkers call my purse “the food satchel”, I’m obviously a supporter of the emergency food stash
I’ve never seen the cappucino flavor before. Is it new??
Definitely keep emergency snacks on hand: a larabar, a baggie of almonds, something! Half marathon training makes me super hungry, so I always want snacks.
I keep almonds, saltine crackers, kashi berry crumble cereal, and apples and peanut butter at work. I teach fourth grade and my students are very curious about my recently snacking habits. I have serious morning sickness right now, and they keep asking, “If you don’t feel good, why do you keep eating?” I haven’t told my coworkers yet but my bland snacks have probably given me away by now.
I love broc slaw!!! I throw it in tons of stuff for a nice crunch! I really want to try that larabar but I can’t seem to find it in Seattle. Well, I haven’t really been looking but now I will!
I always carry something with me, especially being pregnant. Right now I have two Cliff Mojo bars in my purse as well as a snack bag of trail mix.
I have not tried the cappuccino flavor of Larabar… sounds really yum!
I would die without granola bars.
Currently I have two larabars in my purse, a coconut water box, popcorn, pumpkin seeds, and dried figs and dates. Myths ever hubby is hungry on the road, all he has to do s reach in my purse and find a snack.
Nak’d bars are always in my purse for emergencies (they are the UK version of Larabars!)
Cappuccino LaraBar? HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THESE?!
And I’m a big believer in ALWAYS having emergency snacks on hand. You never know when they’ll be needed.
Luna bars, Larabars, Cliff bars, and nuts! I feel lost without my stash.
Munchies:
Apple
Orange
(BANANAS = BAD IDEA)
Larabars
Nuts
Cereal
I am intrigued by those delicious bites of air! (Of course, I have to be intrigued by the least healthy thing you mention.)
Happy Valentines Day!
they are SOOOO good. i can seriously put away a bag in a sitting, though, because they are so light and fluffy.
Hug Maggie for me. She is a cutie
Definitely like larabars, even though I don’t necessarily feel satisfied after I eat them. PB Choc Chip is forever my favorite…and goes well with a hot cup of tea or coffee! I also carry trail mix with me, I like the raw packs from TJs!
I totally support them – I tend to keep them in the car, incase of ‘emergencies’ – Obv an emergency is just me being hungry! Cans of coke and a few chocolate bars are standard, then possibly some cereal that I can eat with my hands! haha, I can be such a tramp sometimes!
I keep snacks on me at all times—my purse, my desk, etc. Usually it’s a Cliff bar or some almonds, but it’s always something!
Emergency munchie stashes = various swag bag contents.
anyone else?
I always keep some kind of cliff or luna bar stashed in my purse and grab an apple before walking out the door. I try not to keep anything stored in my car since I would most likely forget about it and it would melt in the SC heat!
I do keep a secret chocolate stash in the house. Doesn’t every woman?
I have a big snack drawer at work filled with granola, granola bars, some random fruit, some sun chips, oatmeal, and a bag of Hershey kisses. When hunger strikes at work, I’m ready!
I hate when I’m out somewhere and I’m hungry and there are no options, I’m a big fan of planning ahead and bringing something along
I always keep health snacks in my bag and desk at work, then I’m not tempted by unhealthy vending machine foods!
I almost always have an apple and Ziploc bag filled with cereal, almonds, and raisins in my purse!
Nice post today. Just got done reading the Adopt a Shelter Dog posts about Maggie and James. They made me smile. Thank you and Happy Valentines Day to all of you.

I work in an office so it is more like a snack drawer. I have peanut butter, apples, yogurt, oatmeal and pistachios in case I get hungry. I usually do need something between lunch and dinner and I don’t want to spend money (or extra calories) on buying a snack every day.
Did you make the broccoli slaw or buy it? If you made it, do you have the recipe to share?
Bought it from Trader Joes!
Those sour cream puffs are my FAVORITE from TJ’s. Might be rivaled by the wasabi seaweed, but seriously…SO GOOD. And it’s nice that they’re “airy” because then I don’t feel so bad about eating almost half the bag in one sitting!
you should see my desk drawer…it has all sorts of bars…Clif white chocolate macadamia nut, peanut toffeee buzz and my recent favorite Luna Peanut Honey Pretzel!
I also have things like Emerald Sweet and Salty Nut Mixes, Barney Butter Packets, Pretzels…
Yup, I am fully stocked
I like Larabars for emergency snacks, because so many other suggestions I’ve seen I can’t do. Anything with dairy I’d want cold, most fruit I like cold and same with cut up veggies or dips. Nuts I could do, but again I much prefer them straight from the freezer. I just need some sort of cooler in my car! lol
My Dad jokes that I carry a whole commissary in my purse!
Since I was a kid I’ve always had a granola bar on me in case of a low blood-sugar (was pretty sure I employeed someone at Chewy/Quaker back in the day). I’m a huge snack bar supporter – can’t wait to try the Larabar Cappuccino flavor.
Just wait until Baby HTP is Toddler HTP. Then you’ll have an insane amount of snacks in your purse. With a 7 and a 3 1/2 year old, I currently have 2 granola bars, fruit strips, misc. dum dum suckers, and 3 boxes of raisins in mine. And this is after they ate the pretzels.
