    Your superlatives got me thinking, and I don mt know if you’ve talked about this yet, but a good post topic could be about deciding whether or not to raise your child as a vegetarian. I’d love to hear your opinions and I’m sure it would make for an interesting discussion!

      @Katie @ Peace Love and Oats: That would be an interesting post. My parents were vegetarian when I was born and they did raise me as a vegetarian. I have actually never in my life eaten meat! I do however think it is an interesting question.

        @Celia: Oh yes – definitely need to address this. I have strong opinions on it!!! But not maybe what you would expect.

    I missed the whole photoshop discussion, and after reading through the post & comments I just had to commend you for the way you handle controversy on your blog. Seriously, you manage to be mature and respectful, and rather than dismiss negativity as the work of “haters,” you actually take the time to give considered responses…I think that’s pretty rare in the blog world – keep it up!

      @Sarah: Thanks Sarah – I appreciate that. I really do value healthy discussion!

      Caitlin, I am new to your blog but I wanted to introduce myself and let you know how much I love love love your writing style and the totally friendly vibe!

      I was wondering about the evolution of your blog… did it form just as an off-shoot of operation beautiful?

      Looking forward to tuning in!

        @Libby: Hi there!

        Actually, HTP was first, in June 2008, and OB was an offshoot of HTP, in July 2009. 🙂

    Caitlin, I have been reading your blog forever and just caught up on the last bunch of posts. I wanted to give you a tip for James.

    I have an adopted rescue Staffie (staffordshire bull terrier). We have been using a “tie-down” method for years so that she learns to stay in her bed/ place. Here is more info: http://www.hssv.org/docs/behavior/dog_tie_down.pdf.

    Basically, you can put James’s bed next to your nightstand, tuck him in with a blanket or whatever he likes, and attached the tie down to the night stand and his collar. My dog has plenty of ability to move around, but we dont have to worry about her getting up in the middle of the night to pee on the floor (our main concern with her). We have never had any issues health wise and she has gotten so much more comfortable in her bed. She doesnt need it much anymore. Good luck. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions! I know how difficult dog training/ management can be!

    Congrats on your pregnancy!!! You look great.

      @Kat: Oh this is a great idea. We will definitely consider this. So far he has stayed in his own bed in our bedroom pretty well.

    I have to say…it was your post on how to open a pomegranate that got me to buy one and use your method to get all the lovely yummies out.
