Y’all are giving me such good advice and support about swimming in the comments section of this post – I have to find a way to thank you for being awesome readers! 🙂

How about this sweet 10-cup food processor?

41 WQLDWBtL._SL500_AA300_

Oh yea.

You can use this food processor to make hummus and nut butters, like most other food processors.  But this food processor has an awesome slicing blade that easily chops veggies.  In fact, I use the slicing blade almost every single day because it’s so easy to clean and the processor is not too heavy.  Instead of relying on weighing as much as a ton of brick to stay on the counter during processing, it has little suction feet – cute!

I clap my hands and squeal every time I use this processor.  It makes healthy cooking SO much faster.

I’ll pick the winner of the FREE food processor (must ship to USA) tomorrow afternoon.  To enter, leave a comment describing a moment you felt truly beautiful (or handsome!).

This giveaway is sponsored by me, myself, and I (and the Husband, I guess)!

The moment my fiancé proposed last June. We were on the beach and had just finished working out, but I never felt more beautiful or magical than in that moment.

  • Kristen April 21, 2011, 6:58 pm

    On my wedding day!!

  • Lindsay April 21, 2011, 6:58 pm

Awesome giveaway! My teeny food processor doesn’t really cut it with all the fun veggie cooking I do!
I feel truly beautiful everytime I wake up in the morning with my hair everywhere and yesterday’s mascara running, and my boyfriend still looks at me like I’m a goddess and tells me how beautiful I am. 🙂

  • Dannielle April 21, 2011, 7:00 pm

Last week – I realized I hadn’t weighed myself in 1 month. As I was getting ready and looking in the mirror, I felt absolutely beautiful. This was huge for me – since prior to this, every morning the scale dictated whether I would feel “beautiful” or “ugly”. I’m so happy that I’ve come to this place – where I don’t need a number to determine how I look. I am beautiful because I’m ME!

    • Jen April 22, 2011, 12:40 am

If this was Facebook, I’d totally like your post 🙂 This is awesome. Good for you!!!!

  • Whitney April 21, 2011, 7:01 pm

I feel the most beautiful after a long hard run. Ironically the sweat, the rosy cheeks, the feeling in my gut makes me feel fantastic.

  • Lara @ six times the yum April 21, 2011, 7:02 pm

Awesome giveaway! One time I truly felt beautiful was the first time I put on my high school junior prom dress on. It was this beautiful long, yellow maxidress with bright red roses. It wasn’t your typical prom dress, but that’s what I loved about it. It fit perfectly, and I called it my “happy dress” because whenever I wore it, I felt absolutely happy – and beautiful!

  • Racheal April 21, 2011, 7:03 pm

I feel the most beautiful in the summer when I wear no makeup and flaunt all my natural freckles with pride!

  • Libby April 21, 2011, 7:03 pm

I felt truly beautiful when I was working at my church’s childcare and one of the little girls came up to me and told me that I was a beautiful human being. 🙂 I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

  • Liz April 21, 2011, 7:04 pm

I felt beautiful crossing the finish line at the Peachtree Road Race last summer! It was my first race ever and I trained for months. I had never been able to run even a mile before that so it made me feel beautiful AND strong!

  • Sarah L. April 21, 2011, 7:04 pm

I felt truly beautiful on my wedding day, when I married the man of my dreams 2 years ago. When I look at him, I am reminded of that day and he continues to make me feel like the most amazing woman on earth.

  • Kara April 21, 2011, 7:05 pm

I felt the most beautiful after I gave birth, even though I hadn’t showered in 2 days and I was in a hospital gown. I couldn’t believe that I had made such a perfect baby.

*this feeling of happiness and beauty may have been influenced by drugs.

  • Bridget April 21, 2011, 7:05 pm

  • Jenn April 21, 2011, 7:06 pm

Before I reached recovery (ten years ago), I experienced years of others telling me that I needed to get well, from my eating disorder in order to live. I look back and can remember the dramatic acts they would take, to get me to begin to see myself as they saw me, rather than I have viewed me. Due to my distortion, I was unable to trust or believe them. Because I was living without faith, I went through life not believing anything, unless I saw it, for myself. Because of the distortions of ED (former Eating Disorder) and low self esteem, I was in a desperate need of clarity. What I was seeing. Was what I believed. At this time, I believing I was to be blamed for the bad things happening in the world around me, somehow, believing they were my fault. And the consequence of this belief was self punishment, used to rid myself of the guilt I felt.

One morning, a morning that began like all others, yet ended slightly different. For the first time in years, I took a glimpse of myself in the mirror and was able to see me…the real me. Now, this was VERY brief at the time, but I will never forget the love, peace, and realness I felt in that moment. I was taken back by it and couldn’t understand it. What was all that warmth, sincerity, and peace, I just felt? Later, I realized, it was truth and clarity. The truth and clarity I have been wanting to see within.THIS IS THE MOMENT I FELT TRULY BEAUTIFUL! When my mind and body were seen with clarity.

After my fleeting moment of clarity, I wanted more of them. I wanted to feel these warm loving feelings on a more frequent basis! I decided to take a vow. At first, I was convinced that this, like past vows, was going to be short lived. But this was one time, I couldn’t be more grateful for being wrong! My vow? Was for one year, I was to “Be Me”. This lead to a full recovery after difficult times and lots of hard work. I can now truly feel beautiful and moments of clarity come SO often : )
I have been recovered for over 8 years and share my support to serving others at http://www.becomfortablewithme.com

  • Carly April 21, 2011, 7:06 pm

I recently started going make up free half the time and realized a few days into the experiment that I look just as beautiful without it!

  • Ashley April 21, 2011, 7:06 pm

My wedding day…and not because of all the work done on my hair and make up or because of the big white dress, but because of the way my husband looked at me when the doors of the church opened and I started to walk down the aisle. That’s why.

  • Danielle J April 21, 2011, 7:08 pm

I felt beautiful at my friends wedding. I had been overseas for 10 months and felt like I’d grown a lot as a person and overall felt very confident 😀

  • Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman April 21, 2011, 7:08 pm

Thank you for this giveaway! A food processor has been on my Want List for a while now.

I felt the most beautiful on my wedding day. And it wasn’t because my hair was all done up and I was wearing a gorgeous dress. It was because I was so happy to be marrying my best friend.

  • Kathleen April 21, 2011, 7:09 pm

My wedding day was magical. I’ve never felt more beautiful. Casual beach wedding in Maui with an amazing dress and my hot husband and 25 guests – made up of our family and close friends. Yes please…sign me up. Such incredible memories of how I felt on that day.

  • Caitlin @ The Caitie Experiment April 21, 2011, 7:09 pm

I feel beautiful every time I catch myself making a negative observation in the mirror and turn it into a positive affirmation! All those “my arms jiggle.. but can haul my monster-ass nephew around with ease!” Add up!

  • katie April 21, 2011, 7:09 pm

  • Cyndi @ Weightless Life April 21, 2011, 7:11 pm

Awesome giveaway! I can honestly say that I felt the most beautiful on my honeymoon with my husband. Even though I was at my heaviest weight I was happy with where I was in life and every time I looked in the mirror I felt like I was glowing.

  • maria @ Chasing the Now April 21, 2011, 7:11 pm

I feel beautiful when I look in the mirror after a run and realize how awesome my body is!

  • Joy April 21, 2011, 7:11 pm

I feel like I’m supposed to say on my wedding day (and I did feel beautiful that day) but even moreso when I see a stunning woman and I point her out to my hubs and he doesn’t even look up – he usually tells me he’s already looking at the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen.

And this isn’t when I feel most beautiful but I feel most “right in my world” when I’m in the woods with my pup and he looks back to make sure I’m coming – and if it’s not fast enough he runs back to me! That is where my heaven exists!

  • Barb April 21, 2011, 7:12 pm

For the first 3 months of my marriage, my husband worked overnight shifts. It was so hard to sleep without him there. My faithful pit mix Uma was there for me every night. The worst part of it was that my husband was either sleeping or cranky between shifts. I tried my best to bear it but I did feel ignored and stressed. His last day at the job was the best day in our marriage so far, he came home, we had a quiet dinner together and it was as though we were reliving our first date! The way he looked at me made me feel absolutely beautiful and knowing that he would be home with me in the coming months was uplifting thought for both of us!

  • Heba @ My Life in a Pyramid April 21, 2011, 7:12 pm

When I think of how blessed I am to be healthy. When my husband looks me in the eye and smiles and tells me he thinks I’m beautiful. And when I dress up and pamper myself!

  • Kim April 21, 2011, 7:15 pm

I feel the most beautiful when I am surrounded by my best friends and family. I’ve also noticed as the weather gets nicer and the flowers start blooming, I feel more beauty within too :-). Beauty and happiness definitely go together in my book.

I’ve been drooling over food processors for quite some time, what an awesome give away!

  • Heather April 21, 2011, 7:15 pm

I felt truly beautiful the day I gave birth. I had been laying in a hospital bed all day, unbrushed hair and no shower (and deodorant that was probably starting to wear off), but none of that mattered when I saw my perfect daughter for the first time. 🙂

  • Brittany (a healthy slice of life) April 21, 2011, 7:17 pm

  • Jodi R. April 21, 2011, 7:18 pm

I was 20 years old, and life was good. I was halfway through college, singing in a choir that I adored, in love with a boy who was halfway across the world–in short, living the life I’d been waiting for. I was more confident and happy than I’d been at any time in my life, and it showed. My best friend was coming over to pick me up, and I had 15 minutes to get ready. I showered, dressed, and did my hair and makeup in 15 minutes and when I looked in the mirror, I was gorgeous! I knew it was true because I didn’t need anybody else to tell me, I could see it–feel it–all on my own.

  • Jacqueline April 21, 2011, 7:18 pm

  • jen @ taste life April 21, 2011, 7:19 pm

I felt beautiful this morning, actually. The hickey on my neck may have helped. Yes, I’m 31, not a teenager.

I may have a hickey, but don’t have a food processor!

  • Madison April 21, 2011, 7:21 pm

I felt the most beautiful when I was out walking my puppies around the block and my live-in boyfriend drove by. I had no makeup on, my hair was blowing everywhere in the wind, and he still told me that I looked adorable! I would take being called cute, adorable, or beautiful any day over hot 🙂

  • Caroline April 21, 2011, 7:22 pm

When I ran 4 miles for the first time!

  • Caroline April 21, 2011, 7:23 pm

A moment I felt truly beautiful … hmm. Ideas that come to mind: the day my fiance proposed, my first day at my first job out of college (up and moved from Ohio to the big city of Chicago to be a big city girl), or anytime my mom reassures me I’m beautiful both inside and out. But, I’m not going to pick any of those. I’m 26 years old, and one memory that comes to mind is my senior prom, 8 years ago; mainly because I was all dressed up, but still had a piece of “Caroline” with me … see, I wore this amazingly gorgeous big ball gown (powder pink), gloves, had my hair in an updo beehive style (but elegant) … yet, I wore my favorite pair of SNEAKERS underneath all that glam. These were my favorite shoes in the world; they were years old and so ugly. Yet, I felt perfect. I didn’t care what anyone thought about my weird combo, because I felt amazing … it’s a memory I know I’ll have forever 🙂

I had a moment over the last few months where I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and was struck by my shoulder and collar bone. I had been doing some extra strength training and finally was starting to see some definition. Because I was obese for so long, I NEVER used to be able to see my collar bone, so the combination of seeing both my collar bone and my shoulders looking defined made me feel beautiful!

Last week, when I tried on my favorite pair of jeans for the first time in nearly 8 months… and they fit. Now, this isn’t because I got smaller to fit in them. No, quite the opposite. I had finally gained the weight from my disordered thinking and habits back. I feel like myself again. I feel beautiful. I feel free, and I plan to stay this way!

I feel beautiful when I’m comfortable. Does that sound too basic? Let me elaborate: when I’m wearing an outfit that I like, hanging out with people I love in a pleasant environment (like my living room) — that’s when I feel the most beautiful. For me, beauty and the feeling of authenticity are inextricable.

Last autumn, after a summer of great running/walking and yoga, I spent a weekend with my wonderful sisters in Montreal to celebrate each other. I felt in great shape and excited to be there. We spent an evening primping, enjoying a little wine and dressing each other up in our newly purchased clothes before going out for dinner together. I felt gorgeous because I had the two best accessories a girl could ask for – her fabulous sisters!

  • April April 21, 2011, 7:33 pm

I am so happy for this give away. I do need a food processor and it made me sit down and think positively about myself. I asked myself “When have I felt truly beautiful?” To my astonishment I thought quickly of several times where I felt truly beautiful. I feel truly beautiful everytime I look at my youngest daughter. She is a slitting image of me, and I think she is adorable. My other daughter is adorable too, but she looks more like my husband (who I can also gaze at all day :))

  • Mary April 21, 2011, 7:36 pm

um I’m going to be really honest (& a little bit of a downer) & say it has been a LONG time. & I didn’t even realize it until I started to answer the question! I think feeling beautiful has a lot to do with your level of happiness, & my level hasn’t been at an all time high lately. However, I do always feel beautiful when I am with my family, particularly my niece and nephew. When I was last with him (over Christmas break) my 2.5yo nephew told me I looked like a princess which is quite the compliment if I do say so myself. 🙂

Awe, kids are the best!!! I appreciate your honesty. I can tell you ARE a beautiful person!!!!

  • Michelle April 21, 2011, 7:37 pm

This was hard for me to decide on as I don’t know that I actively think this a lot but…I spend a week every summer volunteering at a camp in Maine. When i’m in shorts and flip flops and running around in the grass under the hot sun with those kids I feel as content and peaceful as I could ever feel. And I think that level of content-ness(Is that a word?) and happiness must radiate beauty. 🙂

I’ve really been struggling with accepting my body especially in the last few months while I’ve been under a lot of stress. Two weeks ago I ran my first half marathon, which was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done but when I finished I was so amazed at what my body had accomplished and truly felt beautiful and loved my body for the first time in a long time.

  • Erin (Travel, Eat, Repeat) April 21, 2011, 7:42 pm

For whatever reason, I was considered really pretty by Korean standards. Walking down the street, teaching students, riding the Metro — people stopped me all the time to tell me how pretty I was. It made me laugh but also smile and genuinely feel beautiful.

You. Are. Awesome. Thank you for this giveaway! I felt beautiful recently when I was talking on the phone. I’ve been working to organize a visit by the Dalai Lama, and after helping a gentleman figure out the situation with his missing ticket, he thanked me for being kind, patient, and having a gentle voice. It made me remember what it’s like to feel beautiful from the inside out 🙂

This may sound so cliche, but it is so true! I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world on the day of my wedding. It wasn’t the hair, the dress, or the makeup. It was the way my sweet hubby looked at me 🙂

  • Allie April 21, 2011, 7:49 pm

  • Coco April 21, 2011, 7:55 pm

I felt beautiful yesterday. I was in the elevator at work (I work in a medical center in Baltimore) and I felt a tug on my skirt. I turned around to see a little boy, aged 5 or 6, looking up at me. “You look beautiful,” he said, “like an angel from heaven!” I just about died. It made the rest of my busy/stressful day more bearable.

  • Alex @ Working Housewife April 21, 2011, 7:55 pm

  • Samantha April 21, 2011, 7:56 pm

When I finished running my first-ever half-marathon (the fitness/more half, when we tried to meet up!), I had never felt so beautiful. My body gave me the ability to do such an amazing thing. And at the end of the day, I realized I hadn’t weighed myself the entire time I was training for this race. It wasn’t about losing weight, it was about feeling beautiful, strong, confident and comfortable in my own skin.

  • Lauren April 21, 2011, 7:59 pm

I feel truly beautiful when I’m not trying. When I don’t look in the mirror every 10 min, when I don’t care if my hair is perfect, when my makeup is not on, and when my nail polished is chipped, when I’m wearing sweat pants and have food spills on my shirt. When the rest of the world could case less about how I look, the only person in this world that does matter looks over at me and says, “I love you beautiful.” That is how I know I’m always enough. 🙂

  • Emily April 21, 2011, 7:59 pm

When struggling with my eating disorder, I never felt beautiful. I realized I was searching for the ‘wrong’ beauty.

I truly felt beautiful when I finished my first Warrior Girl 5k. I was covered in mud and sweaty, but knowing that I had trudged through pools of mud (thanks to my strong legs and heart) and persevered to the finish made me feel beautiful inside and out.

  • Michelle April 21, 2011, 8:00 pm

🙂 How sweet of you to do a giveaway! 🙂 I felt the most beautiful when I would visit my (then) fiancee` which was long distance, and no matter how tired and worn out I knew I looked, he made me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. 🙂 He still makes me feel this way, It’s amazing.

  • Jessica Gordon April 21, 2011, 8:00 pm

Usually I don’t want to post for these things, but I will always remember a specific time when I felt the most beautiful.

I had lost quite a bit of weight in high school, after getting on track with my eating. I went to an ice cream parlor and turned and looked in the window and seeing my reflection I honestly did not recognize myself. I felt a rush of emotions. I was proud, happy, and even a little confused.

I still have trouble with “fat” talk, and staying healthy, but I will always remember that moment.

  • Janene @ One Run at a Time April 21, 2011, 8:00 pm

I can’t pick one, honest, so you get three:

    1) The first time I put on the wedding dress I’ll wear in 6 months.
    2) @ weeks ago when I finished my 1st 10k WAAAAAY faster than I ever thought I could run.
    3) Everytime I take a shower and then put lotion on my legs and marvel at how strong they’ve gotten in the past few months. Yowza!

Thankfully, my attitude is changing these days, and I find myself feeling smokin’ hot a lot! 😀

  • Brie @ Brie Fit April 21, 2011, 8:02 pm

  • Catherine April 21, 2011, 8:02 pm

January 1, 2011 – after ten years of battling my eating disorder, I felt so beautiful on this day as it was the first time I had gone one whole year without any eating disorder symptoms. I am now 15 months ED free, and trusting my body makes me feel beautiful every day!

  • julie o. April 21, 2011, 8:04 pm

I feel truly beautiful when I am givinig of myself! I have 6 children…when I hear them tell me that they love and appreciate me…..I know that all the things that I thought were important compared to what I KNOW is important, there is no comparison!!! I mentor many moms, and have such an awesome husband, but when I know that I have impacted my children’s lives, it makes me feel BEAUTIFUL!!! I love my kiddos!!!

  • Cassie April 21, 2011, 8:05 pm

I feel most beautiful when I feel confident. And trying new things make me feel confident. Thus…

I felt beautiful when I tried surfing on vacation in Brazil. I was the only woman on the beach trying to surf. I think the fact that I was trying it drew a lot of attention and made me feel proud. To me, being brave or trying something new does a lot more for beauty than sculpted thighs.

  • Cait @ Beyond Bananas April 21, 2011, 8:05 pm

I felt beautiful on the inside and out just last week. I have just began my blog and I teetered as to whether or not I was going to expose my ED history. Ultimately, I decided I wanted to share the details – even the ugly ones. I have been working hard in recovery and sometimes struggle – needing lots of energy and support to keep from recovery. But finally sharing my full story – all of the dark demons that have been locked up inside me – exposing myself in the most public way possible..made me feel BEAUTIFUL… truly beautiful – for the first time in a very long time. I am so happy with my decision and have been carrying this beauty in my pocket..and in my smile ever since.

  • Kim April 21, 2011, 8:07 pm

  • Kortney April 21, 2011, 8:08 pm

I felt the most beautiful the other day when I got out of bed hadn’t brushed my hair and am in the odd stage of being pregnant (not looking pregnant and yet not looking like my normal self) my husband looks at me and says – I have never seen a woman as beautiful as you and cannot be more happy to be happy to have my child with you. I don’t know if it was the hormones or just how sweet he was but I defiantly started crying. Now I can’t quit thinking what a beautiful thing I’m doing by caring a child and how it is only making me stronger and prettier every single day.

    • Mary April 21, 2011, 9:02 pm

  • Beth @ 990 Square April 21, 2011, 8:10 pm

  • Kathy April 21, 2011, 8:10 pm

Sometimes when it’s late at night, I’m wearing my pink pajama pants, oversized comfy t-shirt, glasses and no makeup, and yet I surprisingly still feel comfortable enough to let my boyfriend see me this way, as we cuddle and doze off on the couch watching TV. That’s when I feel beautiful, because I know my boyfriend loves me for me, not because of how I look when I’m done up in cute clothes and makeup 🙂

  • Kate April 21, 2011, 8:10 pm

Every time I finish up assisting with a heart surgery. It’s always amazing to help someone by doing something I truly love.

  • Katie H April 21, 2011, 8:11 pm

Being pregnant taught me the true meaning of beauty. I used to hate my stomach, but I fell in love with it during my pregnancy. Every time I looked at my big, round belly in the mirror, it made me happy. I knew that it was nourishing and protecting the precious baby inside of me, and nothing ever looked more beautiful to me.

  • Bry April 21, 2011, 8:11 pm

I felt the most beautiful when I spent a month living with indigenous people the the Amazon Rainforest in Brasil. These people had never seen commercial makeup or beauty supplies and rely on plants and animals (like the blood of animals) for special occasions. With no running water, makeup, or any beauty novelties, when I was at my most natural state, I felt my most beautiful because I knew that people liked me for exactly the way I really am.

I felt beautiful after a run with my husband – I spent the entire time trying to keep up with him. As we finished, panting sweating and laughing, he said that he still can’t over my gumption/determination after 18 years together. 🙂 Then he thanked me for getting him into running –

  • Allison @ Happy Tales April 21, 2011, 8:13 pm

Aw, what a wonderful thing for you and the hubs to do! I feel most beautiful after getting back from a long run. I know my body is so strong and can carry me for such long distances, and it makes me feel wonderful! (BTW, I already have a food processor, so if it’s me, just pass it along to the next person. But really, that’s so sweet of you to do!)

  • Kendall April 21, 2011, 8:17 pm

Swimming builds such mental toughness it’s crazy. I also swam laps a while ago when I hurt my knee, and once you get in the water it’s not too bad. 🙂 I am sure people have mentioned this, but what helped me was switching up strokes after a few laps. Also, that tip saying to alternate between using just your arms or just your feet helped me fight the boredom as well.

The moment I felt most beautiful was actually last month. I was sitting in front of a mirror doing my cool down stretches at the gym. I looked at myself drenched in sweat, in a baggy shirt and my favorite tempo shorts and realized that even though I wasn’t dolled up or relatively sanitary I felt the most beautiful I had ever been. I was in my element, drenched in my passion- and that to me was absolutely beautiful!

P.S. I found this pic on the lululemon site while browsing today and it totally made me think of you and your goal:

i definitely feel most beautiful when i push myself physically (with running, swimming, etc.) i don’t think i’m perfect and sometimes i notice a stretch mark or a dimple on my leg but then i think “these legs can run 13+ miles!”/”these legs won your age group”/”these legs were the 5th fastest pair today” and i just feel so happy!

  • jeSs April 21, 2011, 8:25 pm

I feel my most beautiful when I’m fresh out of the showeR, clean and relaxed, and natural 🙂

  • J April 21, 2011, 8:25 pm

After a long, lovely day in Georgia (not humid) weather! Like today 🙂

  • Ruth April 21, 2011, 8:25 pm

I felt beautiful today after getting back from the gym. It was my first time back to running after a long break, and despite the inevitable frustration with the fact that I’m not up to where I used to be in terms of endurance or speed, it felt absolutely wonderful to get moving again.

  • Chris H. April 21, 2011, 8:26 pm

When I lie in my Girlfriend’s arms or visa-versa

  • Michelle April 21, 2011, 8:26 pm

The last time I felt truly beautiful was when I was pregnant. Sure I’m not at my ideal weight, I’m gassy, I blue veins popping out of me everywhere (and I mean – everywhere), and I have brown blotchy spots all over my face — but I have never felt better about myself!

  • Carrie April 21, 2011, 8:27 pm

Wedding day, hands down. But only because it is so rare for me to get all polished and dressed up. I think jeans and a t-shirt are just as gorgeous!

  • L. Marie April 21, 2011, 8:27 pm

I felt particularly beautiful this past week!
This past November, I started changing my diet and exercise habits in order to lose weight since I was about 30lbs outside my healthy weight range. I began running on a regular basis and controlling my portion sizes as well as cutting back on processed foods.
In January, however, I became suffered an ankle injury from running and have been dealing with that ever since. On Monday, I will meet with an orthopedic surgeon to discuss my surgery as a possible option. During this injury process I have not been able to exercise at all due to doctor’s orders. Nevertheless, I stuck with the healthy changes that I had incorporated into my diet.
I am PROUD to have lost 30 lbs since November (averaging a loss of 1.5lbs or so a week)! When I reached my goal this past week I felt so beautiful and cried tears of JOY! 🙂

I always feel confident and powerful when I run trails. That feeling was amplified a thousand times when I finished my first trail ultra in March. It was a really tough course and I conquered it! Woohoo!

  • Sara April 21, 2011, 8:31 pm

During law school we had a “law prom” every year. My second year of law school it was on my birthday, so it was even more important to me to really look amazing. I remember walking down steps coming from one of the bars and seeing my now boyfriend (who was then just a guy who kept trying to take mt out) and when he saw me he just stopped and his jaw dropped. I’ve never felt more beautiful than at that moment.

  • Ashley K April 21, 2011, 8:31 pm

I feel most beautiful after a long hard workout….I know seems weird, but the feeling of strength is truly beautiful.

  • Laura April 21, 2011, 8:35 pm

How about right now? My hair is unwashed and greasy and my pajama stained shirt is on, but I just ate an amazingly simple and delicious dinner after a HARD work day and interval run. I feel pretty darn beautiful 🙂

  • Danielle C. April 21, 2011, 8:36 pm

Last year I surprised my boyfriend with an amazing dinner out and a night at a fancy hotel. I put on my favorite dress and painful heels (lol), and looked at myself in the mirror.

2010 was a tough year for me, I left a 10 year long emotionally and physically abusive relationship (2 year marriage). After everything I had been through (and continue to go through)and the things I accomplished to that point…I felt amazing and beautiful. When I walked out to meet my bf, the look on his face confirmed it at all. The evening was simply a way to thank him for his unconditional love and support. 🙂

  • Sarra April 21, 2011, 8:36 pm

A moment I felt truly beautiful was when I decided to start exercising for health and (inner and outer) strength and not for a number on the scale 🙂

when my hair is natural and wavy!

  • k April 21, 2011, 8:38 pm

Today, when I was looking into the mirror in the locker room all I saw were the imperfections in my body. But then in my strength training class I had a spot up front were I had a good view of myself in the mirror and I realized that despite any perceived imprefections, I looked really strong (and beautiful).

  • MJ April 21, 2011, 8:38 pm

  • Jacalyn April 21, 2011, 8:45 pm

I was running in the Austin half marathon this past February upset at how slow my pace has been recently. Before I had my son, I always finished sub 2 hours. I was tired, slow and felt chubby when I ran around a bend and came toward the capital. I looked to my left and saw my beautiful 1-1/2 year old son sitting on his uncle’s shoulders with the hugest smile I have ever seen. “Mama!!!!” I left the race course, ran over to him and gave him lots of kisses. In that instant my sadness went away and I knew a slower pace was worth that beautiful face. I have still yet to finish a half marathon under 2 hours. One day I hope to get my pace back, but for now, I’ll take those 9 minute miles.

  • Katie April 21, 2011, 8:46 pm

I feel beautiful every time I put on my favorite black dress!

  • Katie April 21, 2011, 8:46 pm

I felt truly beautiful the moment I found my wedding dress. Not the moment I had my hair and makeup done and then put the dress on, but the moment I found my dress. I wasn’t planning on shopping for it yet but a friend convinced me to just try on a few dresses for her sake. We had been bumming it all morning so I was not in the mood and I definitely wasn’t dolled up-but then I tried on my dress and I felt so beautiful (which is hard for me to say) but I had that moment where I cried when I saw myself in the mirror. It was a magical moment.

  • Briana April 21, 2011, 8:50 pm

Caitlin, it’s great that you’re doing this all on your own. Reading some of these comments have got me teary eyed! I always feel beautiful when I’m with my family, but most specifically my grandmom who has Alzheimer’s. She repeats a lot of the same phrases over and over again, and one thing she always says to me is that I get more and more beautiful every day..I don’t mind hearing that every 5 minutes 🙂

    • Caitlin April 21, 2011, 9:50 pm

Aww I am sorry about your grandma.

  • molly April 21, 2011, 8:51 pm

  • Christy April 21, 2011, 8:52 pm

Honestly, I felt truly beautiful on Tuesday when I got my braces off. I had them on for two years and during that time, my confidence in myself was a roller coaster. I thought my braces made me look hideous when they probably did not. Now that they are off though, I feel beautiful and ready to stop dressing like a lazy bum and wear some jeans. (: I love my face now.

  • Martha April 21, 2011, 8:52 pm

The day of my college graduation was the time I felt most beautiful — and that was even when I was wearing that frumpy gown! I just felt so confident and accomplished. 🙂

  • Gina April 21, 2011, 8:53 pm

A few weeks ago I went to get my hair cut at a fancy schmancy place and got a little insecure with all the cool, skinny people in the salon. I put a big smile on my face and explained what I wanted to my new stylist and when she whirled me around at the end and I saw my new ‘Do, I thought, “darn, I look hot”!

I always feel most beautiful after I come back from camping- I might be dirty and stinky but I feel gorgeous

  • chandana April 21, 2011, 8:56 pm

The “Borders” store close to our home was closing. I feel very bad seeing any store closing especially thinking of how many families it effects. I purchased something and was at the counter, when the sales person was packing my stuff I asked if he was going to work at a different BORDERS location now, he said “No. there are not enough Borders stores to accomodate all the employees. So, most of us will have to find something else”. I said “All the Best to you then”. when I said this this he paused I repeated the same thing and he said “thank you!”
it was not a usual “thank you”. It was one I will remember forever.I can never forget his expression.
I came home and shared this with my husband. When I was telling him I felt how a simple thing like saying ‘ all the best ” can make a stranger so happy. I felt truly beautiful for doing this.

  • Emilie April 21, 2011, 8:56 pm

  • Rosi April 21, 2011, 8:59 pm

With “day old” hair (the day after I get it perfectly styled… and then sleep on it!). It’s always effortless (I roll out of bed and twist up the curls in a loose heap on my head) and I feel amazing and beautiful even if I just throw on jeans and a tank top.
Usually, I’m so obsessed with making sure my curls are perfect, but on the days I don’t care (my “day old” days) are the days everyone thinks I did a little something extra, even though it was really nothing at all.

  • Carly April 21, 2011, 8:59 pm

As cheesy as it sounds, the time when I’ve felt the most beautiful was my wedding day. Not because of the dress, or the hair and makeup, but because for once, my spirit felt beautiful and wholly loved.

  • Megan April 21, 2011, 8:59 pm

Both times when I was pregnant- the whole 9 months!

  • SarahC April 21, 2011, 8:59 pm

Last year I went to Rwanda to do research for my thesis. Due to my research, I had the incredible opportunity to travel the country and visit with people in rural villages – something not many are able to experience in such a tight political environment. I also made quick friends with several workers at my hotel, several of whom I am still in contact with. Everyone, especially the hotel employees, were so warm and welcoming, so generous and positive (even introducing me to their families). This might sound weird but … the way everyone embraced me, the way they celebrated the small joys in life … just made everything seem beautiful to me. It made me feel beautiful, and it made the world seem beautiful. It’s something I can’t describe, but I really try to hold onto that, especially when it is easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day grind.

  • HilaryJo April 21, 2011, 9:00 pm

The first “date” my now hubby and I went on…we played broomball for a couple hours, then went to steak’n’shake…as we shared those chocolate chip pancakes, I was so happy!!! I felt beautiful because I was so happy. Pretty sure my face hurt from smiling for about a week afterwards. haah

I felt most beautiful when I looked in the mirror one day about 2 years ago and said to myself “You are beautiful. You are a strong, confident and beautiful woman.” For the first time in my entire life, I did not immediately think of something negative or critical to say about myself. The power of that moment has stayed with me ever since. To love oneself and to not judge oneself is quite freeing, and beautiful! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Nicole April 21, 2011, 9:08 pm

As a nurse, I see people and their families at their worst and I have to admit that it can be easy to become desensitized to bad situations, poor prognoses, etc. Every so often though, I’ll have a patient that really needs me…whether for support, reassurance, education, or as an advocate for their healthcare. The feeling of truly making an impact on someone else’s life, even if only for a brief moment, is one of the best feelings there is. I might physically feel more beautiful after a good workout or when dressed to the nines, but I truly feel the most beautiful at the end of a long shift in scrubs, with a ponytail and 12 hour old make-up.

  • Tammy Root April 21, 2011, 9:08 pm

When my husband tells me I’m beautiful, and means it, when I have no make-up on, my hair is in a ponytail, low-key clothes, bloated stomach, etc.

I used to be so obsessed with how I looked that I truly never thought someone would love me ‘as is’ — when he did, I not only knew he was the one, but I realized that all the things I thought defined me as “beautiful” really didn’t.

  • Allison April 21, 2011, 9:17 pm

I feel truly beautiful when a members in my group fitness classes come up to me after class and tell me what an impact as an instructor I have had on them. It really means the world to me when members tell me they were able to push through a weekend activity or vacation because of the strength they have built in my Body Pump class. I’m so hard on myself and so consumed with the way I look that I forget about my impact on others.

  • Heather @ Side of Sneakers April 21, 2011, 9:17 pm

A few months ago I had an allergic reaction that made my face an absolute disaster. I have a 15 year old sister in law that I try to be a good role model for, and I don’t want her to think you have to wear make up to be beautiful, so despite my horrible rash, I went to a family birthday party without covering it up. No one looked twice and I knew it’s because I wasn’t letting it bother me, so it wasn’t bothering them.

A moment in which I felt truly beautiful was when in the 8th grade. I put on some weight from the medication I was taking at the time (for my Ulcerated Colitis)but at this particular moment, It didn’t really matter. It was during a school play, and though I was in full costume and makeup (I was playing a Iago from Aladdin so you can imagine how crazy it must have looked) I was still very much myself. Performing to an audience made me realize that it is our inner individual talents and quirks that make us beautiful, not our exteriors.

  • Patti April 21, 2011, 9:29 pm

Just knowing that I was doing the best thing for my body felt great! It’s been a struggle (to say the least) to get back into a workout routine post-surgery but I recently starting taking a class called Kazaxe which is like an extreme Zumba and I’m slowly getting back on track!

Especially allowing me to run my first 5k this summer!

The first time I did bird of paradise pose in a yoga class. I was still a yoga newbie and my form was far from perfect, but flowing through all the moves made me feel so graceful and strong. The first time our instructor guided us into bird of paradise, I was terrified and awkward, but suddenly, I popped into it and it felt so so incredibly awesome. I mean, my leg was still bent and I’m sure I looked more like a chicken than a beautiful bird, but I still felt so proud in that moment, I’m sure I was glowing :).

  • Toa Green April 21, 2011, 9:49 pm

I felt truly beautiful (and strong) during my 2nd Olympic triathlon. Someone smacked my butt from behind on the run and it turned out to be my husband passing me. Since I am a faster swimmer than him he always has to catch up on the run(which he is faster at) but this time as he passed he said, “dang, babe – it took me 4.5 miles to catch you this time. You’re amazing!”

I also broke 3hrs at that tri — it was a great day!

  • Christina April 21, 2011, 9:49 pm

I think it has happened after the birth of each of my three children, but especially after the birth of my third, my first son, I felt beautiful. I felt really good in my skin with that pregnancy first of all, but after a slightly complicated pregnancy followed by an induction that did not go how I planned, I was still able to admire my body for what it had done and that I was now holding my new, beautiful and healthy son. That made me feel beautiful.

The moment I felt truly beautiful was when I stopped weighing myself everyday, beating myself up for every cookie or scoop of ice cream I had. When I realized that being beautiful doesn’t mean being super skinny. It means being comfortable in your own skin, working out because you feel accomplished every time you do and eating healthy because you enjoy putting high quality food into your body. I felt truly beautiful when I realized my self worth.

I felt beautiful when I finally ran 20 miles ( last weekend) while training for my first marathon. I was feeling awesome! • Amanda April 21, 2011, 10:05 pm

I feel most beautiful when all the things typically considered beautiful are out of the picture. I feel most beautiful when I am rosy red and my shirt is drenched in sweat after running five miles. I feel most beautiful when I can feel my body getting stronger every time I run a little further. I feel most beautiful when I ace that test after long hours of studying. All these things not only make me feel beautiful, but make me feel whole.

When I was diagnosed with PCOS – finally I stopped feeling so so bad, after having being told for years that I was the “fat kid” and that “if only you lost weight, you’d be perfect…” I was on the swim team, ate well, exercised regularly, but was always “chunky” – but thanks to the PCOS diagnosis, carefully regulated meds and a continuation of swimming and running, I FEEL healthy. Even if someone comments how I’ve “put on a bit” I smile and chuckle inside thinking, YOU HAVE NO IDEA how far I’ve come. I felt beautiful that day when my endocrinologist told me I had a sickness!! 🙂

  • Melissa April 21, 2011, 10:12 pm

Oddly enough, one time I felt truly beautiful was immediately following a time that I felt truly disgusting. Coming home from the gym one day with no makeup on my hair a sweaty mess, I felt gross and exhausted. As we were getting home, my 3 year old daughter asked me if I would please make her some chicken before I took a shower. “Yes of course my sweet one.” I answered her happily, delighted in her good manners. My husband was within hearing range and came over, gave me warm hug (despite my sweat and stink), and, with a loving look in his eyes said, “You are a great mommy.”
I’ve never felt so beautiful as I did in that moment.

  • Jill Kirkwood April 21, 2011, 10:13 pm

I felt truly beautiful on my wedding day and it had nothing to do with my hair and makeup being done and hardly to do with the beautiful dress. I felt beautiful being surrounded by so much love and family and seeing my husband at the end of the aisle waiting for me. Cheesy but true! 🙂

  • Cindy April 21, 2011, 10:20 pm

  • Em April 21, 2011, 10:20 pm

Yesterday, I was having horrible pregnancy cramps and stayed in bed all day. My H came home from work and couldn’t stop telling me how beautiful I am and that he thinks I’m even more beautiful now than when I was in my best shape. He’s such a keeper 😀

  • Amber from Girl with the Red Hair April 21, 2011, 10:21 pm

    What a great giveaway!

I feel the most beautiful after a good workout and a shower. I just feel so strong and fit and clean and I dunno. I just always feel good 🙂

I also feel pretty when my fiance randomly grabs my butt or gives me a hug while just hanging out at home! 😉

  • SaraA April 21, 2011, 10:21 pm

As a dancer, I feel most beautiful when I’m in my element, at the dance studio. I feel alive when in motion!

  • LauraJayne April 21, 2011, 10:22 pm

I felt beautiful on Saturday. I’d had a horrible failed long run and had convinced myself that I wasn’t going to be able to complete my first half-marathon in a week. I didn’t feel like going on my date, but I did – and he told me I was “intimidatingly pretty.” Instead of contradicting him (like I normally would have), I said thank you. It felt great and I felt beautiful.

  • Deva (Voracious Vorilee) April 21, 2011, 10:23 pm

I feel beautiful every time I walk in the front door at the end of the day and see The Boy’s face light up to see me.

  • Tricia April 21, 2011, 10:24 pm

  • Grace April 21, 2011, 10:27 pm

It’s a tie between the day I graduated nursing school and when I finished my first half-marathon. Both such awesome feelings. And I’ve been DREAMING of a food processor forever! Can’t wait to make my own nut butter 🙂

  • Harmony April 21, 2011, 10:28 pm

I feel beautiful when i’m pregnant. So much so that i’m pregnant with my second child in 2 years:)

  • BeckyH April 21, 2011, 10:30 pm

There isn’t an exact moment … there are moment(s) when I feel beautiful. When I wear a certain shade of lipstick, when that eyeshadow makes my brown eyes look extra large. When my husband sneaks up behind me and says “I love you.” After I finish 3 miles (that’s a long way for me), when I have that extra high heel on. So I suppose *my* “I’m Beautiful” comes in different packages, from myself and from my husband.

  • Meg April 21, 2011, 10:31 pm

When i truly realized what forgiveness was. I realized God loved me ….i am still working on remembering it daily though! So i guess, actually, i feel beautiful daily!

  • Gracie (complicated day) April 21, 2011, 10:32 pm

When he was 2 years old, my little brother Abe had a pet name for me: “Beauty”. Little children have it right: If they love you, you are beautiful to them. Every time he called me Beauty I’d smile!

  • meg c April 21, 2011, 10:32 pm

when i finished my first half marathon!

  • Lesley April 21, 2011, 10:35 pm

Is it silly that I feel beautiful when I put on my favorite dress and heels? Most of the time I wear jeans, so whenever I get dressed up I feel good about myself.

Oh, and crossing the finish line of the disney marathon–sweat and all 🙂

I remember truly feeling beautiful right after band camp one day when my hair was a mess, I was sweaty (and I’m sure smelly), wearing baggy clothes, and totally worn out when one of my guy friends told me I looked radiant. Must have been the sweat. 😉 haha

  • Linz April 21, 2011, 10:46 pm

I felt really beautiful when I finished my first half marathon, something I’d never dreamed was possible only a year before.

  • JenRD April 21, 2011, 10:47 pm

    Hmmm…that is a good one!
I have to say that I have struggled with self esteem issues my whole life. But now, I have a baby–life–growing inside me. My body is changing, my skin is breaking out, but I am truly “glowing” from within. I have never felt more beautiful.

  • Jenny April 21, 2011, 10:48 pm

I started to feel beautiful the first week I went without weighing myself, measuring out every single bite of food I ate and began to focus on less on “losing weight” and more on being healthy =)

  • Karla April 21, 2011, 10:49 pm

  • Emily April 21, 2011, 10:51 pm

I feel beautiful everyday since about 3 years ago when I started really thinking about the foods I was putting in my body. Instead of worrying about a number on a scale or what other people think, educating myself about nutrition has boosted my attitude and confidence!

  • Beth April 21, 2011, 10:58 pm

I feel most beautiful after I’ve done my morning walk, or a 5K walk, and then freshly showered. I feel like my body is clean inside and out at that point. I breathe deeper, I smile more, and feel most relaxed because I have just taken my health in my own hands, which for me, is a constant battle.

  • Cari April 21, 2011, 10:58 pm

I feel truly beautiful when I accomplish something difficult for the first time, especially if I didn’t think it was possible before– like finishing a really hard rock climbing route, learning to surf and catching my first wave by myself, or running 6.5 miles pain free after a 2 year struggle with a shin injury :).

  • Haley April 21, 2011, 10:58 pm

When I push past my limits 🙂

  • B April 21, 2011, 10:59 pm

The moment I felt truly beautiful was after I had given birth, and placed my baby into the hands of two amazing people who were meant to be her parents. It was incredible to be that kind of blessing in someone’s life, while devastatingly heartbreaking to acknowledge the fact that I wasn’t ready to raise a child. I think some of our most beautiful moments come from times when we are humbled and able to offer something to someone that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to have.

  • marie [would] April 21, 2011, 10:59 pm

ugh i really have to think about this! i know that totally goes against the whole purpose of this blog (which i love), but i haven’t felt beautiful in a good long while! i think the last time i felt ~beautiful~ was… halloween two years ago? i was just starting grad school and had zero dollars but was working at macy’s so i got this real red lipstick and just went to town (on my lips, not my whole body or anything)! red lipstick = beauty maker that night!

  • Meagan April 21, 2011, 11:00 pm

I always feel beautiful after I accomplish something, as if the pride I feel on the inside becomes the beauty I see I the outside! It’s awesome!

  • Stephanie April 21, 2011, 11:02 pm

  • Kristy Hartnett April 21, 2011, 11:04 pm

I feel the most beautifu when…. my little boy (4 yrs old0 says “mommy, you look pretty”. He usually says it on the days I have spent beating myself up for not being a perfect mom, for not getting my workout in or for not keeping a perfectly clean house, for having a hard day at work (and somedays, it is all of the above). I have to believe it is my son’s wonderful heart and God speaking through him, reminding me I don’t have to be perfect, I am loved and beautiful for who I am.

  • Laura April 21, 2011, 11:04 pm

I feel most beautiful after a tub, lying in bed with my husband and the pups, completely content.

  • Pam April 21, 2011, 11:20 pm

Wow! Great giveaway. I had one of my most profound and beautiful moments after one of my countless reconstructive surgeries for my cleft lip and palate. I realized that even though I was going thru alll this pain just to look like the “normal” person I was already a beautiful person on the inside and I had friends and family who loved me for me. And I wanted to help others just like me and help them realize they were beautiful too. I love helping children with birth defects realize that they are beautiful to and it’s whats on the inside that counts. And if you are truly a good person that will be the first thing people see.

  • Shauna April 21, 2011, 11:21 pm

I felt beautiful last night, when I took my hair down from its half-up hairdo. Because I’m half black, my hair is insanely thick and poufy. I always have half of it pulled back because it’s an insane mess when I wear it all down, but I do like it that way. I don’t wear it fully down in public very often because I’d rather not draw attention to myself, but as I did some reading last night at 3 in the morning with my hair chillin’ in its poufy insanity, I must say I did in fact feel quite ravishing.

  • JenATX April 21, 2011, 11:22 pm

Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂 I felt truly beautiful the other night wearing my completely lace-back shirt out on the town 😉 I was also wearing my walking cast boot, and my hair in it’s natural curls (rather than straight), but I don’t remember the last time I’d felt so confident out with friends! I don’t know if that’s the type of “beautiful” you were looking for, but I really did!

  • Anna April 21, 2011, 11:23 pm

November 14, 2008. I had given birth to my first child on the 12th. I was standing in the hospital mirror holding this amazing little bundle of joy. She was smiling, and I was crying, and yet at that moment, I was beautiful. A beautiful mom holding on to the most amazing gift I had ever been given.

  • Beth April 22, 2011, 12:02 am

I was jumping up and down like a mad woman, moving to the music, and I could see that everyone else was feeling it too- we were having a blast! Inspiring people to push farther made me feel absolutely gorgeous since I knew others felt that way, too.

  • Jill April 22, 2011, 12:11 am

At work in Wednesday. I felt crummy initially because I ran out of time getting ready in the morning, so I just threw my hair up in a bun. But I got so many compliments that day on the darn bun! My coworkers made me feel beautiful!

I feel beautiful when I am happy!

  • Caitlin April 22, 2011, 12:17 am

I feel beautiful when I do my hair and it actually turns out right! I have very fair skin and very blonde lashes and brows, so my face doesn’t get a lot of definition naturally. I usually don’t feel beautiful without makeup. But I curled my hair the other day and it turned out awesome. I took a picture, with no make-up, and it’s the first picture I can remember taking this way in a long time that I actually liked =)

  • Kristyn April 22, 2011, 12:19 am

  • Lauren April 22, 2011, 12:21 am

  • Michelle April 22, 2011, 12:50 am

When your best friend(s) tell you that you are beautiful, and they don’t mean it just in regard to outside appearance, but who you are on the inside as well. A best friend has nothing to gain from telling you this – they aren’t trying to woo you, win you over, or get you in bed (ha!). It is a pure compliment with no expectation of reciprocity, which means it must be true – and makes you feel pretty darn good!

  • Karen April 22, 2011, 12:52 am

I felt gorgeous after my first acupuncture appt. Everything wad zen and in balance.

  • Elise April 22, 2011, 12:59 am

  • Lili April 22, 2011, 1:05 am

The other day after an evening shower , i looked in the mirror with no make up on, wet hair and wearing my husband’s old buttoned shirt just for fun…. I felt natually beautiful and comfortable with myself.

  • Laura April 22, 2011, 1:06 am

I felt beautiful (and still feel beautiful!) in the mornings when my husband looks at me, with my bed-head, sleepy eyes and a smile on my face as I look at him, and tell me I am so beautiful. I get that beautiful feeling tingle!

  • Melissa April 22, 2011, 1:06 am

This afternoon I was sitting in a waiting room and I both my kids (2 & 3 yrs old) were piled on top of me….on top of my stomach and lap, in which my purse was already piled…but they didn’t care…as long as they were as close to me as they could get. I’m sure we looked ridiculous, as they were perched on top of me like a couple of roosting hens, but I just felt beautiful because I knew these little people love me so much.

  • Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife April 22, 2011, 1:06 am

  • Rachel @ The Perseverance Diaries April 22, 2011, 1:14 am

The moment I truly felt beautiful was in February of this year. I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 24. My first thought was that I was going to lose my hair. I know it sounds silly because here I am faced with disease and I am worried about losing my long blonde hair. After my second treatment, my hair started falling out in clumps. I took control, I couldn’t handle the torture anymore so I went to a salon and had it completely shaved. That night I got home and forced myself to look in the mirror. What I saw was my beautiful face, without hair. With or without hair, I am still ME and I am still beautiful. Hair is just a security blanket.

I didn’t even want to share this to win something at all, your question however just made me think. I just felt compelled to share because it was extremely enlightening and eye opening as a woman to lose my hair and still feel as though I am as beautiful as I was before. I now look at any woman with a bald head as beautiful because it’s a badge, a beauty mark, a battle wound.

  • lauren April 22, 2011, 1:17 am

A random Sunday after my freshman year of college i realized that it doesn’t take a mirror to realize one’s true beauty, so what does a girl do? Throw it in the dumpster! Best moment of my life!

My dad isn’t a man of words. He is more of an action/doing man than a talker. The day he told me I was pretty was the day I felt the prettiest. It meant so much 🙂

  • Dee S April 22, 2011, 1:57 am

Going through treatment for an ED..there was just a moment when I was sitting there with a really good friend next to me (who was also in treatment). It clicked, I finally felt *ok* and beautiful for the first time in years.

  • Tara April 22, 2011, 1:58 am

  • Rachel April 22, 2011, 2:00 am

  • Tricia April 22, 2011, 2:06 am

When I see hints of my mom in me!

  • Megan April 22, 2011, 2:07 am

The prettiest I ever felt was when an old boyfriend caught me at a totally random moment and said “You know you’re beautiful, right?” For myself, I sometimes catch myself in the mirror and think that I look pretty – it’s a nice change from the self criticism I tend to engage in (I’m trying to stop!)

  • Shaya April 22, 2011, 2:21 am

a moment I felt truly beautiful was after running my first race– beautiful, alive, and so so proud 🙂

  • Krista April 22, 2011, 2:24 am

I love this question Caitlin, such a great idea! I felt most beautiful at my college graduation. I had recently lost a lost of weight after being heavy my whole life, I was in this really pretty dress & I felt like I had the whole world in front of me. I remember feeling really beautiful on that special day.

  • Morgan @ Endorphaholic April 22, 2011, 2:33 am

I feel beautiful when I am with my mom. She is so confident and happy with who she is and how she looks that it is absolutely contagious. It also helps that she is stunningly gorgeous!

  • Ker April 22, 2011, 2:50 am

I had a hard summer struggling with substance abuse and addiction, and I was feeling really down about myself as a whole. I had recently moved to a new city, cleaned up everything about my lifestyle, and started swimming and working out again. I was DD for a big fair that was in town, and I was walking around with one of my best friends. He turned to me and said “You know, I don’t know what I would do without you. You’re an amazing friend, and I love you so much. I’m so happy you’re here. And it’s fun to have a hot best friend” and hugged me. After trying so hard to make so many positive changes in my life, I had never felt as beautiful in my life as I did then. Nothing feels as good as one of the most important people in your life noticing how hard you’re trying.

  • Lilian April 22, 2011, 3:00 am

  • stacey steiner April 22, 2011, 3:13 am

The week after I’d broken up with my ex. I finally went out & bought a new swimsuit, a bikini, which he’d always said I could never “pull off”. Once I got home, I put it on, stood in front of the mirror & was shocked. I thought to myself, he’s an idiot, I am wearing this bikini & it looks fine. (seriously did, folks..) it was then I realized I was actually beautiful!

  • Julie April 22, 2011, 3:24 am

I felt truly beautiful yesterday when my sorority hosted a local Girl Scout troop at the house to earn an anti-bullying badge. I was asked to participate in some anti-bullying discussion and I was absolutely blown away by the clarity of these elementary school-aged girls’ definitions of true friendship and standing up for others. Those Girl Scouts are beautiful inside and out, and having the honor of being a mentor to such lovely girls makes me feel beautiful too.

During this past summer, I had the opportunity to perform with a drum and bugle corps. Our final costume of the show were these gorgeous cream and gold “pantaloons” but the character we were playing was very charming and alluring. I specifically recall our final performance at quarterfinals– wearing that costume at the very end of our show and the combination of the music, and getting to play that role made me feel gorgeous.

I would have to say my wedding day. I had been freaking out about gaining weight (due to health problems) and I was sick but my dress fit great, I had a slight healthy looking tan, and I just felt great about myself!

  • Jessica April 22, 2011, 6:18 am

Showering after a long morning run on the beach, I went back out to watch the sunrise over the ocean. Sitting on the towel and looking back and forth realizing it was just me, the seagulls, the sun, the sand and the waves…I’ve never felt closer to nature and apart of the beautiful calm and serenity that is apart of nature. The entire experience was different when I went back to the beach a few hours later, when people had begun to take over the beach, the natural beauty had slipped.

I actually felt most beautiful on New Years, the night my (now) fiance proposed to me. I had worked hard and lost some weight over the course of the year and I wanted to kick off the new year right, so I treated myself to a beautiful new cocktail dress and some (super)sparkly heels without a clue as to what was ACTUALLY going to happen that night. Without a doubt I felt GORGEOUS, then at midnight I turned to my fiance who was down on one knee and suddenly it didn’t matter what I was wearing or how my hair looked; someone loves me for me, all the time no matter what I look like… That made me feel beautiful. 🙂

  • Shannon April 22, 2011, 8:49 am

It’s not an exact moment but after I ran my first marathon I started looking in the mirror and thinking how much I loved my legs for being strong enough to carry me 26.2 miles – those thoughts of “oh my legs are huge” are so rare since then. I appreciate my body and looks now!

  • Anna April 22, 2011, 8:52 am

I felt most beautiful on my wedding day last July! Whenever I’m feeling self concious I peek at the pictures and remember how I felt on that day. Also, my husband reminds every morning!

  • Liz April 22, 2011, 8:56 am

My husband and I went to his law school prom a few weeks ago and when I walked out of our bedroom all fancy he looked up at me and said “you have never been more beautiful than right at this moment.” He made me tear up! I had to fix my makeup, but it was worth it!!!

  • kimmy April 22, 2011, 8:58 am

I felt beautiful on my wedding day. Even when I look at the pictures I cant believe that was me!

  • Christy April 22, 2011, 8:59 am

Over the last year and a half I have lost about 150 pounds. I had gotten to the point where I was just tired of being overweight and tired. Since then I have had two moments where I have felt truly beautiful…the first, last summer when I finished my first ever half marathon under my goal time of 2:10. The second, a few months ago when I went into a bridal boutique and was able to fit into a regular size wedding dress!

  • brandi April 22, 2011, 9:01 am

Even though it hasn’t happened in a while (thanks to a bad winter, surgery, and moving into a new house), I feel the most beautiful after a good workout. My face is always flushed, and even when I’m horribly sweaty, I just feel GOOD.

  • Sarah April 22, 2011, 9:02 am

  • Sara April 22, 2011, 9:14 am

At the end of last year, I finally got serious about working out my upper body and am beginning to see results! These days, I feel most beautiful (and strong!) after a good workout at the gym. Nothing like showing off muscles to makea girl feel pretty!

  • MariaBu April 22, 2011, 9:17 am

I have never felt more beautiful than after having my 3 precious babies! I think it is the pure happiness and joy of having these little angels bless my world and knowing that MY AWESOME BODY was capable of making a little human being and nurturing them that makes me feel beautiful! And my hubby saying that I am beautiful, stretch marks (battle wounds as we call them) and all helps a lot too!

  • kelly April 22, 2011, 9:18 am

However, the look on my husband’s face when I came down the aisle made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. With his love and support, I am finally healthy and fit and now I feel beautiful everyday!

A few years ago, when I was a sophomore in college, I went to visit my boyfriend who was starring in a show in Chicago. Waking up the first morning in bed with him, with the sun of another city shining through the window– just us– was the most beautiful I’ve ever felt. And I wasn’t even wearing makeup!

  • Emmy April 22, 2011, 9:44 am

Last weekend, I was standing on the subway next to a girl who I noticed looked great – she had on a really cute outfit, was fit and very tall, and I was admiring her purse from afar. After a few stops, she leaned towards me and said “I just wanted to tell you, you have the most beautiful eye color.” It was amazing that a stranger who I’d never seen before had given me such a wonderful comment, and it made my day and made me feel totally beautiful. For the rest of the day, every time I saw someone who I thought had a cute bag, or pair of shoes, or great hair, I told them, and spreading the feeling that stranger on the subway had given me made me feel even more beautiful 🙂

  • Lindsey April 22, 2011, 9:45 am

I felt truly beautiful at my Senior Prom. I can NOT do my own makeup well, but the stars aligned that night and my makeup looked professionally done(!) and my hair (which WAS professionally done) looked perfect. My dress fit exactly right, my date was my best guy friend and I just felt like a supermodel. I hope I have the same good fortune on my wedding day.

  • Angela April 22, 2011, 9:45 am

After giving birth to my three kids. There is truly nothing like natural childbirth. <3

  • Alison April 22, 2011, 9:47 am

    After a great workout!

  • Dory April 22, 2011, 9:48 am

This was such a great idea, I loved skimming through everyone else’s comments. It also gave me a great reflection of myself. I actually feel beautiful often, but it has nothing to do with makeup or cute hair. I feel beautiful when I get out of the shower, most days when I wake up and always when my boyfriend wraps me up in his arms and I lay in my final savasna.

  • chloe@ 321delish April 22, 2011, 9:49 am

When I finally realized (and it was just in the past few months 🙂 at 26 years old) that the fit of my clothes, the size of my thighs, the color of my hair, etc. was NOT what makes me beautiful. It is me…my heart and my head.

  • Sara April 22, 2011, 9:50 am

Every time I finish a good workout, especially when the weather is nice & sunny outside!

  • Katie April 22, 2011, 9:52 am

I felt most beautiful when I caught my boyfriend staring at me for no reason other than he thought “I looked beautiful.” And I was in the couch, in sweats. I felt truly loved and therefore beautiful!

    • Katie April 22, 2011, 10:00 am

I just had to comment on this…my name’s Katie too and that’s EXACTLY what I was going to post too! Ah, we’re all connected in some way, huh? 🙂

I recently went skydiving for the first time! I was worried the pictures (freefalling @ 12000ft) would be awful, as I am not very photogenic. But, they turned out great because I was truly having the time of my life! Happiness is beautiful.

  • Jodie April 22, 2011, 9:53 am

  • K is for Karma April 22, 2011, 9:56 am

I felt truly beautiful (and confident!) when I ran my first mile about 5 years ago. I struggled for so long to embrace and challenge my inner “athlete” because for so long I felt like I wasn’t one. That first mile made me so proud, so accomplished and so gorgeous! Every time I run I am reminded of this amazing moment!

  • Mallory April 22, 2011, 9:56 am

A moment that I truly felt beautiful was the day I woke up and realized that my eating disorder was not going to get the best of me. With tears in my eyes, and a smile on my face, I discovered that I could, in fact, beat this disease!

  • Jenny April 22, 2011, 10:11 am

The first moment in my adult life, when I felt truly beautiful was about 2 years ago. My car had just died, I was moving to a new apartment, life was so frustrating and stressful – and I went with it. I remember the day after the move, I’d put a down payment on my car, I was driving home and I just felt – alive and grown up and responsible. I didn’t need my parents or a boyfriend or anyone to help me. I was just this independent self-sufficient woman, starting a life, and it felt amazing. I felt beautiful and peaceful and wonderful all at the same time.

  • Sarah April 22, 2011, 10:13 am

I always feel most beautiful directly after leaving the gym. I feel healthy, energetic, and strong. Also, nothing beats that post workout sweaty face flush 🙂

  • Shannon R. April 22, 2011, 10:14 am

I have been going through numerous transitions in my life recenty, which has caused me to question disconnect from my soul…my spirit and question my strength.

A beautiful moment happened two weeks ago when I was in the produce section at the grocery store. A woman came up to me and said, “I really don’t know how to tell you this (I thought to myself ‘oh here we go…what did I say/do/etc….that icky negative mind!)….but I’ve been watching you and and your daughter for a while now… I have to say how I like the way you talk to her and how you have been describing all the fruits and vegtables to her… you’ve even let her touch them and put them in the bags…I haven’t seen that a lot with parents and their children… thank you.”

I was floored! I looked at my 2yr old love bundle and almost cried. I didn’t even realize it was a beautiful moment until I posted this. As I’m writing this beautiful moment between this stranger/my daughter/and myself I’m realizing my spirit/soul/STRENGTH is in me because I’m clearly passing it on to my daughter without even knowing it.

The small communication with the stranger and this posting are my BEAUTIFUL MOMENT! 🙂 Thanks Caitlin for reminding me of this and my strength…..

The first time I completed a 10 mile run. I bawled as I slowed to a walk and realized what I’d done. Six months prior I couldn’t run for more than two minutes at a time…but at that moment I realized I could train and fuel my body to do anything that I wanted to. THAT is beautiful. I am beautiful..and truly realized it at that moment. We are strong!

When I’m ‘strong’- finishing a duathalon, or long run makes me feel good about myself. It’s easy to slather on makeup or spend $$ on new clothes, or another temporary fix, but training to accomplish a huge physical challege makes me feel ‘pretty’ in a weird way.

  • julie April 22, 2011, 10:33 am

I feel so strong and beautiful when I dance. I have no dance training (unless you count those six months of ballet before I lost interest and moved on to the violin), but I take dance fitness classes now. It started as a whim, spurred by a Groupon, and yet another attempt to “get in shape.” I feel beautiful when I dance because, yes, it has helped me get healthier – not just physically, though. Dancing feeds my soul, too, and in the end, that’s why I feel so amazing when I’m there.

    I WANT THAT FOOD PROCESSOR!

  • Natalia - a side of simple April 22, 2011, 10:58 am

What a generous giveaway!! I’ve wanted a food processor for so long 🙂

Great giveaway! Would love to win! I think I had one of my best days where I felt my most beautiful (and also my smartest and most deserving) when I got my first offer of publication. It was a really great moment that I’ll never forget!

  • Amy Tully April 22, 2011, 11:00 am

When I tried on wedding dresses! I was kind of dreading dress shopping, because I was afraid all of my insecurities would come out as I tried on dresses. Instead, to my surprise, I felt beautiful in all of the dresses I tried on, and particularly “glowy” in the one I chose. Now, instead of worrying about how I will look on my wedding day, I am looking forward to putting my dress back on.

  • Rachel April 22, 2011, 11:01 am

Last March I went home to visit my parents for a weekend. I had been really stressed at the time. I was living with my former boyfriend and things had turned rocky in our relationship (everything would crash in a couple months). I also was unsatisfied with my job and thoroughly stressed out and anxious after applying to graduate schools over the last few months. To top it off, my beloved childhood dog who I had had for almost 14 years passed away. Suffice to say, my self esteem and happiness had tanked. My parents, though, had rescued two new dogs, which was one of the reasons I was visiting. When I walked in their door, the dogs BOUNDED and jumped all over me, kissing me and wagging their tails at what had to be a 1000 mph. Such unconditional love upon a first meeting rejuvenated me and made me feel absolutely gorgeous. Never underestimate how happy and beautiful a dog (or any other animal) can make you feel!

  • Megan April 22, 2011, 11:01 am

I felt like a knock-out when I was sweaty and horribly disgusting at my track meet last year and my boyfriend came up to hug me and congratulate me, getting my B.O. all over him! He said my hair looked the same as it always does (which may or may not be a good thing!) =)

  • Kim April 22, 2011, 11:22 am

I always feel most beautiful after completing a run or a race. I was never active when I was younger and I even let myself become obese for several years. I changed my lifestyle a few years ago, cleaned up my diet, lost the excess weight, and found myself pretty much addicted to running even though I swore I would never run. So with that in mind, after a race or long run even though I’m a sweaty mess, I always feel so strong and in shape and I find that so empowering.

  • Carrie April 22, 2011, 11:22 am

I feel beautiful when my husband gives me hug, kisses my lips, or reaches for my hand when out walking together. I also feel beautiful when outside walking through the neighborhood or park to blend in with such replendent beauty.

When I’m hiking, and I can feel the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, and see for miles. I feel like I’m part of the awesomeness that is the world.

  • Chelsea April 22, 2011, 11:23 am

  • Laura R April 22, 2011, 11:26 am

When I ran 3 miles for the first time 3 years ago and realized how strong I was becoming.

  • Bonnie April 22, 2011, 11:33 am

Last year, I started going out with my boyfriend (we’ve been together ten months) and he was constantly telling me how gorgeous I was and how great I was and motivating me to do well in school and take care of my body, even motivating me to exercise. Usually, whenever someone (especially a significant other) tries to motivate me to get healthy, I would get defensive and upset, thinking that they were unhappy with my body and the way I looked, but really it was me.

I was going to write that I felt most beautiful when he told me he loved me for the first time, and I did. I was so happy and I looked in the mirror, and for the first time, I felt beautiful.

But I just looked in the mirror now, and I see just how much I’ve changed in the past year, not just physically, but my life is so much more on track and I am so much happier with myself today than I was ten months ago. I feel the most beautiful today, because of every obstacle I’ve faced and surpassed and because despite the fact that there were plenty of times in the past twenty years that I wanted to give up, I still managed to get back up again and I made it to where I am now.

  • Robyn April 22, 2011, 11:40 am

    On my wedding day!

  • Raya April 22, 2011, 11:40 am

Actually, it was last night. I went to a Lululemon free yoga event on the rooftop of the W Hotel in Scottsdale, and we practiced yoga by their rooftop pool at sunset overlooking the mountains and the palm trees. It was simply breathtaking. In that moment I closed my eyes, felt the breeze, and could honestly say that EVERYTHING (umm like the fact that my bank acct is currently in the negative, the fact that I still have weight to lose and can’t seem to do it, and all my other insecurities) melted away and in that moment I felt that not only was I beautiful, but so was everyone else around me. And I’ve never felt more convinced that I am exactly where I am supposed to be in the world. It was amazing.

  • jennifer April 22, 2011, 11:41 am

I know it’s cliche, but on my wedding day. I felt radiant for the whole day 🙂

  • Allison W. April 22, 2011, 11:43 am

I feel beautiful after a hard workout. When my face is red and sweaty, I know that will translate into how good my body looks and feels now and in the future.

  • Caitlin April 22, 2011, 11:44 am

I felt the most beautiful on my graduation day. It wasn’t because I was having a great hair day or wearing the perfect dress. I felt beautiful because I saw how much I had transformed in my four years of college. I had gained four years of knowledge, healthier eating habits, and learned to love running. Smart, healthy, and strong is what defines my beauty.

  • Alanna April 22, 2011, 11:44 am

Last November, I went out for a run even though I didn’t really have my head in the game. I told myself to just run 2 or 3 miles and see how it goes, trying to trick myself with mini-goals. I ended up running 10 miles and I felt so amazing and strong and beautiful. I never thought I could increase my mileage that much and I was so proud of myself. I need to get back out there – I’ve been depressed and I’ve lost my motivation.

I also need a food processor, so I can make my own nut butter!

  • Carol S April 22, 2011, 11:45 am

I would have to say holding my daughter for the first time. I was a tragic mess but as soon as I the nurse gave her to me, the mess suddenly became organized. Beautiful memory 🙂

  • nicole April 22, 2011, 11:45 am

After a run, when I’m at peace with my surroundings and with myself. I love running!

  • Andrea April 22, 2011, 11:45 am

I feel truly beautiful when I get all dolled up to go out with friends. I’m a graduate student, so these occasions seem so rare, but when they occur, I feel so beautiful 🙂

  • Michelle S April 22, 2011, 11:53 am

When I’m running a race! The race photos might show otherwise, haha, but I think there’s nothing more beautiful than when I’m doing what I love and not worried about makeup or how my hair looks or what other people think!

  • Kellie April 22, 2011, 11:55 am

I had a “I feel bad about myself day” yesterday. I climbed into bed in a bad mood and found a note my 7 year old daughter left me on my pillow that said she loved me. That was all it took to feel beautiful.

  • Kerrie April 22, 2011, 11:57 am

At my senior prom. I saw a dress I loved in a magazine and when I found it, it was the last one on the rack and fit me perfectly. Everything else came together on the night of the prom and I felt beautiful.

  • Maura April 22, 2011, 11:58 am

AMAZING giveaway!! One time I felt truly beautiful recently was when I finished running 5 miles without stopping for the first time since high school(at a 9:31 pace to boot — great pace for me!!)

  • Tracey April 22, 2011, 12:04 pm

I felt so great the first time I went to a charity event. Not only was I wearing a fantastic dress but I felt so good that everything happening at that event was going towards a good cause. I felt both physically and spiritually beautiful.

  • Emily G. April 22, 2011, 12:24 pm

Oh, that would be amazing to play with recipes for nut butters! Drooolls!!

Anyway, I felt beautiful yesterday. I was at work waiting to go to school and my co-workers granddaughter came in. Out of no where, she gave me a huge hug and told me how pretty I was. This came from a 5 year old – and they always speak their mind! 🙂 I was having a rough day and really needed to hear that!

  • Kate April 22, 2011, 12:31 pm

  • Tami April 22, 2011, 12:48 pm

My beautiful moment came when I was trying on dresses for my wedding. I was a big tomboy in high school and never went to any dances because in my eyes a dress on me would look ridiculous. That day I tried on wedding dresses was the first time in my life I was able to look myself in the mirror and say, “I am a beautiful woman!”

  • amyt April 22, 2011, 12:49 pm

my husband and my kiddos make me feel beautiful – the way they look at me or want to be near me – I think that is just true beauty – it goes way deeper than the skin.

  • Christin April 22, 2011, 12:51 pm

I feel most beautiful in the summer. I’m so much more active, eating fresh things, and I’m outside all the time!! It makes me feel great and look my best. So glad that time of year is coming around again!!

  • Alexa @ The Girl In Chucks April 22, 2011, 12:51 pm

I felt beautiful last August when I was a bridesmaid at my high school friends’ wedding. I never get dolled up in real life. I am always in jeans, t-shirt and chucks. My hair is always in a ponytail and while I do wear make-up once in awhile, I’m not very good at putting it on, so I stick to a very plain look.

That day I wore a long, pretty gown. We got our hair and make-up professionally done. I looked in the mirror and I seriously didn’t even recognize myself. I didn’t believe I could ever look that good….but there are pictures…I DID! 😉

You certainly don’t need to be painted and dressed to be beautiful, but for once, it was nice to feel that I could be as glamorous and pretty as I always think other women are.

  • Kristine April 22, 2011, 12:52 pm

The other day my 7 year old son told me I was the prettiest mom ever!

  • Sarah April 22, 2011, 12:59 pm

When i was 12 my best friend was dying from a brain tumor. One thing we always had in common was our long thick hair. When she lost hers due to chemo she was devastated to say the least. So i cut my hair and donated it to locks of love. My long hair was always my favorite feature, but to know that i had just made another girl feel beautiful again, made me feel more beautiful then my hair ever did.

  • Melissa April 22, 2011, 1:00 pm

Right after I met my boyfriend I went on a trip to Pittsburgh to celebrate Halloween with friends. I flew back to Chicago on Sunday and was exhausted. He texted me, trying to make plans to get together, but I was soo tired. He wrote, “it would make my day to get to see your beautiful face”. The rest is history and he continues to say these things to me at surprising moments, like right after a run or on a walk with our dog. He’s good and it never gets old, hearing these kinds of things 😉

  • Alicia April 22, 2011, 1:02 pm

After I finished my first 10K last November. It was something I never thought I could do, but I finished with a decent time to boot. I felt strong, accomplished, and beautiful, despite my outward sweaty appearance.

When the husband tells me I look beautiful and I’m wearing no makeup. I tell him that I’m not wearing any and he just says “You’re not? Wow…you’re SO beautiful!”. 🙂 I’m self-conscious without make-up, but he’s the only one I want to impress and he thinks I’m beautiful without the extras.

  • Sam April 22, 2011, 1:12 pm

  • Chris April 22, 2011, 1:16 pm

I always feel beautiful after my spin class on Wednesday nights. I always get my butt kicked and I love how strong and determined I look during the class, and how sweaty I look after. It is times like this that I am reminded of all of the things my body does for me! It’s amazing!

  • Emily April 22, 2011, 1:31 pm

My cousins and my husband (fiance at the time) made a video for my bridal shower and my husband told them (on the video) that what he loved most about me was how I always wear sweats, no makeup and my hair in a pony. He said, “when we met in college it was so refreshing to see her like that. She didn’t feel the need to impress me and try to be someone she was not. She was just being herself. I loved it, and I still do!” hearing that made me feel like an absolute PRINCESS!! Now I love dressing up for him, but I know he doesn’t care!

  • Julie R April 22, 2011, 1:40 pm

I honestly feel beautiful after a great morning run, freshening up and attacking a sunny day. There’s definitely a skip in my step!

  • elizabethlacy April 22, 2011, 1:58 pm

I felt beautiful last night! I’ve been struggling with knee issues with running so I’ve taken up yoga two times per week (partially inspired from the comparison of your two half/full training experiences with injury!).

I was at my class last night. At the beginning of the class I felt pretty tight but as it went on I felt more and more loose and flexible which led to feeling strong. At one point the yoga instructor told us to gaze across the landscape of our arms (being held horizontally). I’m not sure what it was but I just felt so beautiful looking at how perfect the human body can look in such an organic and natural state (ok, so slightly narcissistic). I loved that THAT body was mine and I could do so much with it.

  • Emily April 22, 2011, 1:58 pm

I felt truly beautiful when I was going to a charity ball a few weeks ago. It was a Harry Potter themed ball (Yule Ball!), and I bought this gorgeous red ball gown that was flattering, and I put some simple make-up on, and I felt like I was going to a real ball. I felt gorgeous. Maybe that’s vain, and a month or two ago I would have said after a tennis match, but this was the first time I felt beautiful and pampered.

I feel beautiful every time my husband tells me, which is often in the form of “You are the most beautiful women ever” (I don’t mind when he exaggerates). It is wonderful always knowing I am beautiful in his eyes, with or without makeup, when I have gained or lost weight or even covered in zits. Knowing this helps me me always remember I am beautiful.
