Another awesome Operation Beautiful presentation.  :)  I had so much fun talking to two groups of 6th – 8th grade girls at the Friendship Methodist Church.

(Best note, ever.)

Before my presentation, I took a much-needed nap.  When I awoke, I was faced with a choice:

This choice was possible thanks to a FRIDGE and MICROWAVE in my hotel room!  I was so happy when I walked in.  I haven’t stayed in a hotel with a fridge this big in years.

Twitter was overwhelmingly in favor of going to Whole Foods, so I pulled on my coat and headed over.

I picked up dinner, breakfast, and lunch for tomorrow – all for $24.

So much cheaper than getting lots of takeout!  It was Whole Foods or Cracker Barrel for dinner, and this was so much more satisfying (although CB can be awesome, don’t get me wrong!):

Dinner included awesome macaroni and cheese – there wasn’t a ton of vegetarian options at the hot bar.

And a salad for some greens:

Then I drove over to the church for the presentation!  I was part of a larger event called Beautiful in God’s Eyes.  It was a whole self-esteem building night for all the girls in Youth Group.

Post-It was kind enough to donate lots of product for the event, and the girls had a ton of fun writing notes and covering the church in positive messages.  The janitor is going to hate me.

So tired – that king size bed is calling my name!

The toilet note is definitely a classic one!! It must be so inspiring and gratifying to spend time and talk to a large group of young teens!

  • Cynthia (It All Changes) January 28, 2011, 10:53 pm

As the janitor at my church (it is included in the Pastor title for a small church 🙂 ) I’d leave the notes up. Everyone needs to see them…not just the girls who were part of the talk.

BTW the I like your tush one is perfect. I might have to put that on our toilet for Hunni ;-D

  • Erin @ Bishella January 28, 2011, 10:55 pm

I love Whole Foods mac & cheese soooo much. I need to learn how to make my own! 🙂

  • Emily Malone January 28, 2011, 10:56 pm

I know this is the wrong post, but I cannot belieeeeeve you went to Bankok Bistro!! I used to live around the corner from that restaurant – one of my Hyde Park favorites. Glad you got to see a piece of my favorite neighborhood. 🙂

  • Jennifer@ knackfornutrition January 28, 2011, 11:11 pm

I’m about 95% sure that your minifridge/mircowave is the same one I had in my college dorm for the past few years. I made mean meals in that microwave. 🙂

  • maria @ Chasing the Now January 28, 2011, 11:22 pm

I love staying somewhere with a fridge. I can eat the way I like and don’t have to worry about blowing all my money eating takeout. Good choice.

  • Wendy January 28, 2011, 11:26 pm

I’ll bet the OB notes make the janitor’s night. How could they not make him/her smile??

  • Kiran January 28, 2011, 11:49 pm

Great decision with WFs! and of course I am a great OB follower 😉 After all, every one is beautiful, just the way you are 🙂

  • Sara (Miles and Manhattan) January 28, 2011, 11:49 pm

Love this. If ONE girl changes the way she feels about herself from ONE post it note left by operation beautiful, literally your movement is a success..incredible

HAH! I just quit my server position at Cracker Barrel! Embarrassing. Strangley, I never ate there, but the mac n cheese always looks delicious.

I can’t believe you bought all those meals for 24 bucks. I’m a terrible shopper, clearly.

  • Camille January 29, 2011, 12:11 am

    You made the choice! 🙂

  • Alex @ Healing Beauty January 29, 2011, 12:52 am
