Mike, Katie, Konner, the Husband, and I went to Dexter’s in Downtown Orlando for a quick bite.

We split a bottle of Mark West Pinot Noir, which is awesome and fruit and fresh.  I had a glass:

I had a spinach salad with pecans, gorgonzola, onions and apples.  I poured balsamic on top.  It was a really filling salad, actually (it was a lot larger than it looks)!

Dinner was a little light because I stuffed myself on Cinnachip bread around 5 PM. I had two huge chunks.   This lovely loaf is on it’s last leg, and I don’t want to throw ANY of the deliciousness away.

I wish I could’ve gone running today but I left my knee sleeves in Charlotte.  Kath mailed them back to me but I won’t get them until tomorrow!  I am so excited to run, but honestly – I’ve been loving the relatively low-key exercise vs. the intensive, long training workouts associated with triathlon and Century rides.  :)  Sometimes, a little goes a long way!

Such cute photos of the boys and girls! Love Mark West Pinot as well.

Enjoy your laid back approach to exercise. A great time for your body to get in some recovery.

  • Allie (Live Laugh Eat) June 9, 2010, 11:11 pm

Perhaps forgetting your knee sleeves was a blessing in disguise! Enjoy the rest. Cutie pie kiddo!

  • Bethany @ More Fruit Please June 9, 2010, 11:14 pm

I think my uterus might have cried a bit looking at those photos! The little tot is adorable!! Enjoy the break from running and don’t beat yourself up over it!

  • Mastering Public Health June 9, 2010, 11:15 pm

Is this the cutie for whom you bought the pricey organic chicken nuggets? He’s adorable.
Also, re: lunch post, I agree completely about cookbooks in general. Most are ridiculously complex, and the ones that are marketed specifically NOT to be are sort of condescending, like, “hey, idiot — even YOU can make this!” and generally not for the health conscious. So, thanks! 🙂

    • caitlin June 10, 2010, 10:13 am

yes he is 🙂 he needs to eat them because i wont!

  • Lindsay @ Summit Sandwiches June 9, 2010, 11:17 pm

It’s great to be able to have a balance between the two types of exercise. I have one more week left of low key exercise before I start my marathon training! It’s nice to take breaks from the intense training otherwise it’s just too easy to burnout. I hope you enjoy your upcoming break from formal training. You deserve it!

  • Cynthia (It All Changes) June 9, 2010, 11:17 pm

I love pictures of the boys and Konner swinging. Such fun.

  • Amber K @ sparkpeople June 9, 2010, 11:24 pm

What a cutie! Man, I didn’t think my biological clock could get any louder!

Sometimes I enjoy it when life forces me to take things easier.

  • Sana June 9, 2010, 11:30 pm

Excited for the new iphone??!!? lol 🙂

  • Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter June 9, 2010, 11:49 pm

It scares me the technology he will have when he is our age *shudders*

  • Annie June 9, 2010, 11:54 pm

    1, 2, 3, weee!! I loved swinging as a kid. 🙂

  • Christina June 10, 2010, 12:16 am

That cinnachip bread looks DELICIOUS!! Where can you get it? I’m in the VA area so I wonder if I could get it around here. YumYum!!

  • Jessica @ Jessica Balances June 10, 2010, 12:39 am

You deserve to be a little low-key when it comes to working out – you’ve had so many races to train for! Enjoy it 🙂 also, the little boy is cuuute. Glad he appreciates the iPhone haha!

  • Wei-Wei June 10, 2010, 12:41 am

  • Freya @ Brit Chick Runs June 10, 2010, 2:13 am

:O :O I used to LOVE that game when I was little – when two people hold your hands and swing you 😀 I only wish I wasn’t 5ft9 so I could still do it now :'(

    • Julia @ Brit Bride June 10, 2010, 5:55 am

Wow are you 5’9? You should be a model Freya!

      • caitlin June 10, 2010, 10:01 am

        seriously! i’m only 5 ft 3!

i tried to get konner to swing me but he said i was too big. 🙂

  • Courtney (Pancakes & Postcards) June 10, 2010, 2:45 am

I love the “little goes a long way” concept. It is so true! I was working out for a while, and didn´t start seeing any results until I started walking between home and work, which felt like nothing! Figures!

  • Annie@stronghealthyfit June 10, 2010, 3:45 am

Looks like a fun night with friends! I love pinot noir 🙂

  • Julia @ Brit Bride June 10, 2010, 5:55 am

Looks like such a fun evening. How cute is Konnor!!

  • Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine June 10, 2010, 7:34 am

He’s so adorable!! I’ve been bitten by the baby bug too recently, but should probably get married before I start considering actually having kids 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful day!

  • Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) June 10, 2010, 8:28 am

I’ve been having a lot of low key exercise days these past two weeks, and have honestly really enjoyed them. They do wonders for making me want to train again, while also just being overall, really enjoyable.

  • Diana (Mymarblerye) June 10, 2010, 8:38 am

enjoy your time off. I’m sure you need it cause of the MENTAL stress of moving and so forth! BTW I’m going to Disney at the end of the month…and tips on dining IN the park?

    • caitlin June 10, 2010, 10:02 am

oh how fun! they have some healthy options but you might want to look online at the restaurants if you want sit down dining. they require reservations.

  • Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin June 10, 2010, 8:48 am

    Konner is such a cutie!

Low key workouts are such a nice way to still get your limbs moving and your heart pumping. As Gina says, there’s no need to go balls to the wall everyday! 😀

  • Laura June 10, 2010, 8:57 am

1 2 3 JUMP!!!!!!! That was seriously my favourite game growing up + one of the main reasons why I was sad to grow up. I bet your husband is having a bit of torn loyalties at the moment- who is he going to support this weekend- England or the USA?!

    • caitlin June 10, 2010, 10:03 am

oh man, totally england. as am i! we’re going to watch it on saturday! im so excited.

  • Lindsay @ The Ketchup Diaries June 10, 2010, 9:04 am

This cinnachip bread makes my mouth water!!!!!!!

  • Miranda @ Mirandasjeans June 10, 2010, 9:22 am

Must feel great to be back home. Looks like you had a great night out, that salad sure looks good. I love fruit in my salads.

  • Melissa @ For the Love of Health June 10, 2010, 9:26 am

Those are some really great photos! 🙂 So cute!

  • Catherine June 10, 2010, 9:38 am

I sometimes love when life creates it’s own little hiccups and my normal exercise routine is thrown for a loop – I always find that during those times I discover new ways to work out that I enjoy. If I had never injured my knee last year I wouldn’t have ever discovered my love for swimming and spinning!

  • Paige (Running Around Normal) June 10, 2010, 9:39 am

He is adorable!! And that salad sounds really good:)
Your husband is so cute with Konner 🙂

  • Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers June 10, 2010, 9:46 am

Mark West Pinot Noir is probably my favorite red wine ever! That salad looks great too…mmmMMMmmm gorgonzola…

  • meg c. June 10, 2010, 9:54 am

look at the way your husband is looking at konner – he DOES want a child! haha

    • caitlin June 10, 2010, 10:04 am

haha i think konner is helping convince him.

  • Marissa June 10, 2010, 10:13 am

In my experience, phones and Gameboys are a necessity to keep the sanity of all adults in the room when a little child is involved while at a restaurant. Hahah.

  • Katie H. June 10, 2010, 12:07 pm

I had a glass of that pinot last night as well- I love it! Your husband looks like a natural with Konner 😉

  • Laura@FindingAHealthyBalance....after a 100+ Pound weight loss!!! June 10, 2010, 1:15 pm
