Shopping and Thai

Shopping was a success in that I managed to post a LOT of Operation Beautiful notes!

IMG_2410 IMG_2428

IMG_2430

IMG_2435

Also, I saw SANTA!!!  He was too skinny to be the real Santa.  :)

IMG_2417

I don’t know what was wrong with me today – the Husband and Harry totally out-shopped me.  I just find malls really draining in my old age! ;)

IMG_2415

I am on the hunt for boots, but I’m not sure I want to buy one that are real leather, which drastically narrows my options.  I did, however, find a sweater dress and a sweater.  Also, I debated buying this sweet hat (just kidding).

IMG_2431

Not going to lie, when I saw these rainbow print dachshund sneakers, I almost bought them.  :)   The look on Husband’s face said, “No way in hell, Caitlin!”  I thought they were cool.

IMG_2439

To fuel me through shopping, I had a Gingerbread Spice Latte.  It feels like the holidays with seasonal blends from Starbucks (plus, red cups!).

IMG_2413

I also had a handful of almonds and a Clif bar that I found in the bottom of my purse.

IMG_2399 IMG_2437

Well, I fully intended to go on a run after our shopping excursion, but then my sister-in-law called and said she was in town! Yay! We were pretty excited to see her and decided to take her out to dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant.

IMG_2443

The waitress asked my Husband if Sophie was REALLY his sister because she is so pretty.  Haha! I’m not sure what that was implying, but it made me laugh.  I don’t think they look alike either.  What do you think?

I had a Thai beer:

IMG_2458

And Tofu Pa-Naag with rice.

IMG_2461

It was soooo good, but I left the restaurant feeling painfully full.  Although, not too full to eat some ice cream when I got back to the house! ;)

Now, we’re home and gearing up to watch Star Trek.  Here’s hoping it’s a good movie (I love Sci Fi!).

Have a wonderful Sunday evening!

We watched Star Trek last night…I hope you like it, I did and I’m not even a sci-fi person. The fact that I didn’t fall asleep during the flick speaks very highly of it.

I got the most comfy Vegan shoes that are Madden Girl! http://www.mooshoes.com/products2.cfm/ID/623/name/Ilarea-Boot-from-Madden-Girl/a/460

Seriously, I walk miles upon miles in the city in these and get no blisters. And they are lined so they are warm.

I love that picture of your hubby and Harry at the mall. They look more psyched than I’ve ever been there :)

Your comment about the leather boots made me think of the dilemma I’ll have when my coat is worn out of trying to find a warm coat that isn’t made of wool (or leather). I was so (blissfully?) ignorant of animal products in clothes/shoes before!

The sneakers are def cute…I was not impressed with Star Trek but only because I like Star Wars. Also…do you have a Forever 21 near you? They have AMAZING deals…I just bought over the knee boots (faux suede) forl ike 25-30? I forget…but they are awesome…super comfy. Also…if you have Marshall’s in FL check there…I got Steve Madden boots there for $40…not as comfortable but really cute. I love fashion…but am a college student and can’t afford to feed the addiction…Forever 21 has always been a staple. There is also an awesome Nine West outlet here..IDK if you have one near you but I got boots on sale there like four years ago for 50 bucks and they’ve lasted FOREVER. Might want to check into their shoes..maybe a bit pricier but they last. Happy Shopping! =)

I suck at telling if people look alike unless they are identical but I think they have the same mouth and are very similar around the eyes. Sophie has great skin. Some genetic features skip a generation that’s why alot of siblings don’t look alike.

I’ve moved over to wordpress and started really thinking hard about my posts, hoping to create something well written that I’m proud to share…. now that I think I’m close to that point I don’t know how to tell non-blog peeps that I’m blogging!

They look similar if you just look at their faces, but the hair is what makes it hard to see past that lol! I actually have a question for you-

I took a break from running for awhile now (due to an injury) and within the past few weeks I’ve SLOWLY eased into it (the correct way!) Buuuut…when I was running tonight I felt what I think may be shin splints. I have never had them before, it it wasn’t grueling pain, but defiantly noticeable. I have a 4.5 mile race on Thanksgiving day, do you think I should just not run until then? Or do you think I shouldn’t do the race at all? I know you’ve had a few injuries so I thought I’d ask :)

Also, if you have ever had shin splints, what did you do for them? I’ve found some info online, but I wanted to check if you have any tricks. Thanks!

    [Reply]

    caitlin Reply:

i think if you’d had them ONCE, you’re probably OK. shin splints are only really bad for you if you start to bruise. otherwise, it’s just painful. i would just ice and elevate them when you are done running and probably walk going down the hills. but make sure its shin splits – google symptoms of shin splints to make sure you have them and not something else. if the feeling is generalized around the front of your lower leg and there’s not one specific place that hurts, you’ve got SS.

    [Reply]

    Nicole Reply:

How long have you had your shoes for? I know that it’s time to replace my shoes when I start getting shin splints!! Good luck!
