I am so excited to be in Boston with the rest of the Healthy Living Summit planning committee: Kath, Jenna, Meghann, Heather, and Tina!

But…. it was a long road to get to Boston, let me tell you!

Our flight was delayed for more than an hour.  By the time our plane took off, Meghann, Kelly, and I really needed a BEER!

I snacked on some Blue Chips as well:

And eventually we broke into my Gingerbread cookie stash.  We split this fellow:

Once the delay was over, our flight was pretty non-eventful.  We just wanted to get to BOSTON asap!

CIMG8468

When we arrived at the Radisson, I discovered this lovely bouquet of flowers at the front desk under my name!

CIMG8476

My dad sent them to me!  Isn’t that sweet?  I was so excited to receive flowers that I actually burst into tears at the register.  Thanks, Dad!

Kelly, Meghann, and I were running late from our delay.  We literally got dressed in 10 minutes flat (I timed it!).  And then we met up with Kath, Jenna, Heather, and Tina for dinner at Petit Robert Bistro.

Petit Robert Bistro offered the planning committee a lovely complimentary dinner.  We were happy to oblige!

CIMG8486

It was pretty much a blogger photography fest, as I suspect the rest of the weekend will be!

The waiter immediately brought us yummy French bread:

And lots and lots of wine:

CIMG8493

Not going to lie, the wine was flowing!  And I’m kind of drogging right now (drunk blogging)!  🙂

I started off with a Tomato Salad with Hearts of Palm:

My entree was Galette of Haricot with Pistou Sauce (it was a bean cake essentially):

Dessert was Homemade Sorbet with Fresh Fruits Medley:

Dessert was the best part! 🙂 It was a really, really good meal (especially for vegetarians!).  I highly recommend this restaurant.

And it was AMAZING to finally meet these lovely ladies in "real life."  Although I feel like we’re already friends.  🙂

Yay!

    OMG–drogging! You are hilarious.

Btw, I think you have dogs on the brain because you mentioned that Dress for Success helps women find dogs instead of jobs. It was so cute. 🙂

Love your blog…but have any of you young ladies thought a bit about a Healthy Living Summit with so much alcohol? As role models for health (I think that's the point, right?) should you be "drogging" on the first night, drinking beer on the plane…? Not so inspiring to this 43 year old mom and athlete. Have fun, but, come on? Will you be working out hungover, too?

  • Anna August 14, 2009, 5:08 am

Nice! It looks like Boston is showing you ladies a great time. My bake sale goodies are in the oven as we speak! See you tonight.

  • Amy August 14, 2009, 8:48 am

You girls are so inspiring. I don't even have a blog, but I follow you daily and jumped at the opportunity to come to the summit. Can't wait to meet you tonight!

  • Anonymous August 14, 2009, 9:58 am

Sure, a few glasses of wine. But at the Healthy Living Summit? Drogging? Working off the hangover? If it were the Partying Summit, okay, but so many pics on all your blogs talk about alcohol and then feeling crappy the next day. Just some constructive criticism from an elder. I really do love your blog!

  • Nicole Chow - HealthyChow.com August 14, 2009, 10:21 am

I love that you ladies are enjoying yourselves (with some wine, food and laughter) but manage to get up early to workout and eat well. It's all about balance, right? Glad you made it to Boston safe and saound 🙂
