TV Time!

in All Posts

I was cooped up in the office ALL day long.  It was torturous, but I got a lot done!

I snacked on carrots:

And Oikos yogurt with flax, strawberries, and blueberries:

Around 8, I emerged from the office and asked the Husband if we wanted to go for a speedy bike ride before the sun set fully.  He practically leaped out of the couch and declared "YAY!".  He had been watching the Tour De France all day and wanted to practice sprints.

We did 8.0 miles in 40 minutes.  It was sweaty and fun!

And afterwards, I made a quick dinner:

It included a side salad and cucumbers with hummus (which was a stretch for my clean-eating day because it wasn’t homemade… but I was too lazy to bust out the food processor!).

And yummy roasted baby yellow potatoes:

Time for me to HIT THE HAY! I’m going to be on the local FOX news tomorrow for a story about Operation Beautiful and will be up very early.  I’m not very nervous right now because the Husband gave me a great pep talk.  He said that very few people get to spread their positive message to the masses, and I should embrace this opportunity!  He’s totally right, of course…. he’s a pretty smart man.  🙂

Have a great night!  Will post the video in the morning!

Your interview looked great! Awesome job! You're doing a great thing by sending such a positive message.

In regards to marathon training, I ran a marathon in December of last year. I joined a running program (through Fleet Feet sports here in CA), and the coach (who's an elite marathoner) used the Jack Daniels running method. It involves running 5-6 days a week with one long run and one speed workout. It's very difficult to train for a marathon running 4 days a week only, especially if you can't do more than one a long run a week. You won't be able to get the mileage in that you need to be able to run the race strong (when you're at the height of training you should be running 35-40 miles/week, minimum). I ran 3-4 5 milers, plus a long run and a speed workout every week and it worked out well. I had a fantastic marathon and finished very strong. Just some friendly advice, and good luck on your training! 🙂
