Thursday Thai

in All Posts

Since Megan is injured and cannot go for a run tomorrow, we moved our Friday morning date up to Thursday night!

We went to my favorite Thai place.  My friend Harry joined us as well!

I started off with a Sing-ha beer and Megan and I split Spring Rolls:

I ordered Tofu Pa-naag and Megan ordered Tofu Garlic Pepper.  We shared our dishes:

I really liked the Garlic Pepper because it so spicy and flavorful:

But the rich, thick coconut curry sauce of the Pa-Naag is definitely the best!

It was a fun way to spend a Thursday night.  Even though my schedule is absolutely insane right now, it feels so good to go out and relax.  It’s worth it!

Afternoon snackies included grapes:

Oikos yogurt and a crushed Kashi TLC bar:

A ProBar Fruition bar (peach flavored! Very good):

And some apricots (of different varieties):

So, the total protein intake for these eats is at least 55 grams.

That brings the day’s total to 77.5 grams, which is way more than I thought!  I’m definitely getting MORE THAN enough protein even though I’m a vegetarian.  :)  Take THAT, meat industry!

I’m going to crash!  Goodnight, and sleep tight.

PS – Tons of thank you’s to Erica, Taylor, and Dee for donating to my Team in Training efforts! I appreciate it so much!

yum! I love Thai food, I've had a craving for weeks but I've been trying to come up with my own recipe instead of going out, but I may just have to suck it 🙂

    I'm glad you had fun!

i honestly don't know that i have ever had thai food. i'm not big on spicy food…maybe that's why it's never been a first choice? looks yummy though!

Never tried thai food, but I hear so many good things about it. I practically live off Fage and Kashi bars best combo ever!

I really love that you are able to enjoy eating out, and especially Thai food. You have such a healthy outlook towards balance, and it's wonderful! Plus, I LOVE Thai food 🙂 Also, you really do deserve a treat after those tiring hours at work! I can definitely relate though.. I've been working 15 hours daily too, sigh. And I've heard it's only going to get longer..(we are def. not paid by the hour!)

That's about my protein intake for a usual day. Do you think it's too high? I weigh more than you do.

I have tried a lot of different things since I started food blogging but I just can't bring myself to try tofu.
Any advice on how to make amazing tofu? I'd really like to try it but I'm scared!!

That Thai dish sounds mighty tasty. I am so dead set on my Spicy Thai Tofu Eggplant with Basil. Mmmmm, I'm drooling just thinking about Thai now.

I'm curious hun, what is your take on Indian? I've only had it a few times, and I think i remember enjoying what I had, but it's been awhile. I think it's time to re-vist this cusine.

Have a wondeful Friday girl! 🙂

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point July 10, 2009, 4:08 am

lauren – i have a date to get indian on sunday!

  • Heather July 10, 2009, 5:31 am

That Pa-Naag curry looks so simple and delicious! I usually get it with chicken, but I will have to try it with tofu next time. Have a great weekend!

I love Royal Thai! It's a bit divey – but I do think they're the best in Orlando. [and it cracks me up that they put their review by scott joseph everywhere :)] The tofu panaang is my absolute favorite. i love pad thai – but theirs isn't peanut-y enough for me. I think napasorn and thai thani do a better one. but the panaang can't be beat! we actually had it last night and the night before!
