What is Time, Anyway?

in All Posts

Evening!  First of all, I must say THANK YOU to the following individuals for contributing to my Team in Training efforts:

  • Paul Noris
  • Ashleigh Falkin
  • Stephanie Coderre
  • healthy ashley
  • Emily M.
  • Angela (Oh She Glows)

Today was just a normal day otherwise — lots of working!

I had a LOT of snacks this afternoon because my lunch was so wimpy.  Mid-afternoon snacks included Oikos and Kashi TLC bar:

After the night shift, I stopped off at the gym and ran 2.0 miles.  The whole time I was thinking "Can’t believe I’m going to do this times 13 miles!" Eckkk!

  • Duration:  18:30 minutes
  • Distance: 2.0 miles
  • Calories Burned: 160

I came home to leftover Thai food (Pan Naag with tofu) that the Husband saved for me:

CIMG6644

Ohmigod — that Husband and I just had a huge discussion about:

  • Whether aliens exist
  • Whether time is linear or not
  • Whether time exists at all
  • Whether there is a beginning and an end to the universe

My brain hurts!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point June 30, 2009, 7:32 pm

  • Ashleigh June 30, 2009, 7:51 pm

    You are more than welcome!

  • elliebelle June 30, 2009, 8:10 pm

Sometimes when freaky topics like time come up, I have to avoid them! It just makes my head spin so I try to focus on the now. 🙂 Seems to help a little. haha….I just laughed after seeing the doggie cupcake. that was cute!

  • Hallie June 30, 2009, 8:10 pm

You two were sober, right 😉 or was there something in that Amazing Grass you left out?

(Sorry, I'm sure that was way innapropriate.)

YAY for signing up for the marathon, by the way. That's seriously so amazing, and I think doing a charity race is much more meaningful when you have a personal connection to the cause.

  • Allison R. June 30, 2009, 8:11 pm

My boyfriend and I always go nuts over whether or not the universe ends!!!! It's so mind boggling when you think about it…if it doesn't come to an end, is it growing? If it's growing, what space is it growing into? AHHHH!!!

  • Sarah June 30, 2009, 8:11 pm

those are some tough questions! what an after-dinner debate!

p.s. loved the article on operation beautiful in the paper WAY TO GO!!!

  • Amanda June 30, 2009, 8:18 pm

Ahh I tend to get deep into convos about that stuff, or just all up in my head, and then it freaks me out bc the answers are obviously unknown!!

Also, CONGRATS on signing up for the marathon – know you will be great. And I am very sorry to hear about your friend.

Finallly, congrats about the newspaper article! Your operation is blowing up!!!

  • just me June 30, 2009, 8:23 pm

congrats on signing up for the marathon and team in training. i actually just found out that i lost a long time high school friend to hodgkins lymphoma…i'm really happy for what you're doing to help.

and damn, that's one intense dinner convo. my brain would hurt too!

  • roseyrebecca June 30, 2009, 8:31 pm

This may sound weird but your carrots always look so good! haha

  • Jess June 30, 2009, 8:32 pm

Love the curry and super love your conversation topics with the hubby…I sure hope I get to meet you guys sometime, cause those could be some amazing "chit-chats" 😀
    Enjoy your evening!

  • hopeinpeanutbutterandoats June 30, 2009, 8:41 pm

oh goodness i hate getting on the topic of time, higher beings, heaven/hell…they drain my brain! but it always makes me feel quite philosophical and smart afterwards 🙂

i told my therapist today about O.B. and she was just in awe! she's going to start sticking post-it's at the hospital i used to be it to encourage the patients!

  • Sarah (LovIN My Tummy) June 30, 2009, 10:07 pm

OMG, I just discussed with my husband, "What stinks?"

  • Thinspired July 1, 2009, 12:23 am

  • seesaraheat July 1, 2009, 5:40 am

Whoa, that is some deep conversation especially after you've worked hard all day 🙂

Is the chocolate Amazing Grass blended with a banana better than just by itself (in milk)?

  • Amanda's Eats July 1, 2009, 5:56 am

Haha I love having weird discussions like that!
