Vacation Day Dream

Is it the weekend yet? No, seriously…. is it the weekend yet?

I had a mid-morning snack today… my tummy was growling! An orange.

CIMG3212

Lunch was a Morning Star Veggie Burger with cheddar cheese in a Flat Out wrap.  With carrots and celery on the side.

CIMG3213

This is the Spinach Flat Out wrap… it’s great! I like it more than the Italian flavor.

CIMG3214

Dessert:  three Resee’s eggs. These things are like Easter CRACK.

Vacation Day Dream TIME!

I am crazy-style day dreaming about vacations right now.  I have some great vacation experience under my belt (which is why my savings account is so low!).  Here are my favorite vacation designations:

  • Barcelona, Spain (twice)
  • Paris, France
  • London, England
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Vienna, Austria
  • Budapest, Hungary
  • Various towns in Germany (twice)
  • Guatemala
  • Mexico (twice… Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta)
  • Niagara Falls, Canada
  • California (Napa Valley, San Diego, San Fran)
  • New York City, New York
  • Winchester, Virginia (where my BFF lives)
  • Miami, FL
  • The FL Keys

My next vacation is back to Winchester in May to see my BFF Sarah.  I’m so excited.

What places have you traveled to?

I worked on a teen tour a few summers ago and got to go all over the Western US and British Columbia, with a cruise to Mexico. I’ve also been to London and Israel. I need to travel more!

Your gooey cheese looks so great!

Wow, you’ve gotten around!
I need to broaden my travel horizons. But when you live up north and you have the chance to go away, the temptation is always someplace warm and with a beach! I’ll get to Europe at some point if I ever get sick of beach vacations!

Reply

therunningaddict March 25, 2009 at 10:18 am

I have been to so many places in Europe I can’t even remember all of them; the advantage of living in a country that is a few hours drive from EVERYWHERE.
I do want to visit the States and Canada. Badly. I am hoping the end of 2009 I will be there!

France (Paris, Lyon, Eze, Cannes, Nice)
Monaco
Switzerland (Lucerne)
London
Spain (Madrid, Toledo, Seville)
Puerto Rico…5 times!!!
Cancun
Cabo San Lucas
Hawaii (Maui, Honolulu)

Washington DC (one of my favorite Cities)
All throughout California

And I live in one of the world’s most traveled destinations…

San Francisco!!!

Mm, great question. My favorite trips have been Hawaii with my family, Alaska for a marathon, a month of backpacking through Italy for our honeymoon, and a few different solidarity trips to El Salvador. Yesterday I was working on adding up the states I’ve been to – I have about 13 left to get to 50. Not sure why, but that’s become a goal. This summer Brent and I are headed for a three-week backpacking trip to Germany.

Wow, you have quite an impressive list! I can’t say I’ve traveled much… only to Europe to the “homeland” (Holland, I’m so Dutch my last name is 3 words!).

I’m hoping for someplace exotic this December for my honeymoon!

Easter candy is daaaaangerous. My favorite are the yellow-wrapper Reeses eggs… the bigger ones. Of course. Haha.

I lived in Rome last semester, which was one of the best experiences of my life! And I got to do some traveling while there, in addition to where I’ve been before. But I did not get to travel NEARLY as much as I wanted to! I’m already saving up to go back to Europe!

I’ve been to:
-Italy (Rome, Florence, Assisi, Siena, Pisa, Tivoli, Verona)
-Canada (Toronto)
-Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Toledo, Valencia…a couple other smaller cities..)
-Ireland/No. Ireland (Dublin, Belfast, Ballycastle)
-Greece (Athens, Mykonos, Olympia, Delphi…couple more cities)

I really liked San Fran too.
I think its cool that you consider Winchester fun too! I live sooo close to there, and you must check out a delicious Thai place when you visit since I know of your Thai food love. I’ll have to look up the name, but its super yummy and has a fun atmosphere.

Hey ~carolyn~ (or someone else that it’s interested in tourism in Barcelona),

Go to Las Ramblas at 2pm in the weekend to eat “tapas” (or during week time, there is people always), The Sacred Family cathedral(La Sagrada Familia), the Picasso museum, La Boqueria market, Montjuic castle, Güell Parc or Tibidabo. And I could go on and on.

It’s a beautiful city and has a lot of places to discover. It’s one of my favorite cities to visit!
