A Sunny But Slow 6.0 Miler

Afternoon! I was a lazy bug this morning.  It took allll over my motivation to get out of bed! :)

I had Sweet Pecan Oatmeal and English Breakfast Tea.  Yum!

The sweetness of the oatmeal came from dates.  It was a great natural way to sweeten it up!

CIMG1711

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings: Pecans and Dates

It was very nice and sunny today!

My training schedule called for a 6.0 miler, which happens to be my least favorite distance.  I’m not sure why!  Regardless, I was totally dreading this run.

I was sooo slow.  Or slower than usual! :) I kind of just waddled along, and I told myself several times that it was OK to be slow — at least I was running!

Here are my statistics:

  • Duration:1 hour, 6 minutes
  • Average Heart Rate: 154 bpm
  • Maximum Heart Rate: 194 bpm
  • Calories Burned: 514

I was starving by the end I got home, so I snacked on a carrot + PB while lunch cooked.

Lunch was reallllllly unique and delicious!  I managed to incorporate whole grains in an omelet!

CIMG1718

My omelet included 2.5 eggs, which were stuffed with quinoa, kidney beans, cheddar cheese, pepper, and spinach.

And a sliced orange!

Adding a whole grain to my omelet made it so much more satisfying!  This meal definitely filled me up!

Alright — time to write some thank you cards for my wedding gifts! :) Have a great day!

Mmm that omelet looks delish! I had a similar run today. It was 6.2 miles and everything just hurt. I was so disappointed because I finally got to ditch the 3,000 layers of gloves, hats, under armor, sweats, etc. and enjoy a 65 degree day. Oh well, as you said, at least we were out there!

I think it was all that bowling that slowed you down today.

But no, every run doesn’t have to be a PR!!!

    Have a great Saturday!

Caitlin, I’m pretty sure that you are incapable of waddling, which is something I reserve for ducks and people will bit boo-tays. You probably thought you were waddling but were floating along like a running ballerina.

Glad you got your 6 miler in…even if you didn’t feel your best, at least you did it. Isn’t it weird how you can feel amazing on a 10 mile run one day, and then a much shorter run just feels so blah somedays.

I love the beans in the omelet. Bet that was filling. Have a good rest of the weekend Caitlin.

Delicious looking oats!! I actually added dates to my grocery list after seeing this. Love dates! :)
The omelet does look unique but soo good. You’re so creative – it’s amazing!
Good job on the run. I hate it when I’m not as fast as I plan on being but you’re right, it’s ok to be slow sometimes. It’s better than just giving up and not doing it at all.
