A Painless Run

in All Posts

Yay! I finally had a really painless (mentally AND physically) run.  The 5.0 miles just flew by!  I think it’s because I was thinking about my upcoming bachelorette party — I am getting really excited!

It helps so much on a run if you can focus on something besides the actual run — just try to space out and daydream!

I am about to check my heart rate monitor to give you my statistics, but the screen has gone black?!?!  Ahh!  Well, here’s an approximation of my statistics (I kind of remember them):

  • Duration: 50 minutes (5.0 miles)
  • Average Heart Rate: 155 bpm
  • Maximum Heart Rate: 185 bpm
  • Calories Burned: 430

My HRM better not be dead! 🙁

After my run, I made a fun breakfast-for-dinner…. an omelette!

My protein-packed omelette contained:

  • 2 whole eggs, 1 egg white
  • 3 slices of deli turkey meat, chopped
  • 1 serving Cabot Private Stock extra sharp cheddar
  • Spinach
  • Pepper

DSCN9971

Delish!  So gooey and yummy.  The protein + fat combo will keep me full all night, for sure!

With some steamed green beans….

And I had a glass of OJ on the side…

Other Snacks of the Day

My hunger was INTENSE today.  I don’t know if my breakfast or lunch was lighter than normal or what (I don’t think so), but my tummy was growling!

I started off with pumpkin spice granola + yogurt around 1 PM.

And honey bunches of oats… which I think is basically like eating air.  I’m not a fan.

Around 4 PM, I decided I need to eat a MAJOR snack or I would chew my arm off during my run.  I had a PB sammie.

It’s Starting to Feel a Lot like Christmas!

I "decorated" for the holidays tonight!  This year, that includes hanging up our door knocker….

Putting Santa on top of the speaker….

And hanging up Future Husband and my stockings (Maggie and James get stockings, too!).

How do you decorate for the holidays? Do you go ALL OUT? I love getting a tree, but with the wedding on January 3, it’s just not a wise move!

oh god, i’m glad i’m not the only one with NUTSO hunger today…holy cow! I dont know what was differnt, but I came super close to throwing a fit:) hunger can turn me into a cranky mess when it becomes too intense! hahaha i think i’m settled, FINALLY!

    Yay for a painless run!!!

    LOVE the snowflake knocker 🙂

You know my obsession with snowflakes, so I am pretty prepared for holiday decorations all year long. 🙂 I have a tree that I set up and a few random decorations. (Abbie has a stocking too!) I add a couple more decorations each year.

I have to take you to my parent’s house some time. They go ALL OUT for christmas! My mom has TWO trees and people slow down when they drive by house each night becuase my Dad goes crazy with lights. I have the perfect christmas house!

I love love love holiday decorations, but I have a teeny apartment. So I decorate it with a teeny Christmas tree. My mom bought one each for me and my sibs when we were kids and we got to decorate it however we wanted. And now it fills my apartment with holiday cheer!

Hooray for a great, painless run!!! EXCELLENT.

Those ‘honey bunches of oats’ look like potato chips, haha 😉

***We DEFINITELY go all out around here for the holidays:

So glad the run went well yayyyy!!! I love the decorations! I want to decorate but all of our stuff is in storage 🙁 We’re probably going to get a lame tiny tree and I will do some cheap decorating hehe.

I love decorating for Christmas and ALL holidays really! 🙂

I go all out…although this year we won’t be decorating for a couple weeks because we are moving this weekend! Normally I would have everything up by now. 🙂

Yeah for a painless run! Love all the Christmas decorations! I put up a tree, our stockings, and a wooden snowman yard decoration!

  • strongandhealthy November 25, 2008, 7:13 pm

    Breakfast dinners = Yum!

I love decorating for the holidays! Typically we decorate the day after Thanksgiving. I have a snowmen obsession.

Hooray for a great run! 🙂

LOVE decorating for Christmas. 🙂 Totally understand you not going ALL out this year, with your wedding so soon and all. It’s out first married Christmas, so we’re definitely putting up a tree and jazz. 🙂 We’ve been looking forward to it since Christmas last year!

  • inmytummy November 25, 2008, 8:42 pm

Funny, I had eggs and steamed green beans for dinner too!

  • HangryPants November 25, 2008, 8:53 pm

I love your decorations! Well, I am currently living with my parents and my mom decorates like straight out of a magazine. We have two trees!

    Congrats on the great run!

  • just me November 25, 2008, 8:57 pm

great breakfast for dinner and glad your run went well! whoohooo!!!

i’m not big on decorating…when i lived at home i left that all to my brothers…they would spend an entire weekend taking all our christmas boxes down and taking everything out to put up…and i mean EVERYTHING…it’s madness how much stuff my mom has.

  • lighterportions November 25, 2008, 9:19 pm

Awesome about the painless run. I try to zone out a bit but it’s pretty hard to do on a treadmill.. so I guess it’s good I don’t run distances much then heh.

And you are one mean omelette maker. That’s a beauty.

  • *Andrea* November 25, 2008, 9:26 pm

LOVe all the decorations! my dorm is all decked out – with xmas trees, lights, santas, stockings & a menorah for my roomie. love your omellete for dinner! protein-packed for sure!!

Aww I love the Christmas decorations!!! 🙂 Sorry you won’t be getting a tree.. I love Christmas trees, but we haven’t gotten one in a long time–ever since we moved from Delaware to NYC.

Anyway, love all your eats as usual and you had a great work out! I usually space out too when I’m working out. 🙂

  • carolinebee November 25, 2008, 9:41 pm

I can imagine wedding planning > christmas decor! That's great that you started early and can still put up some fun stuff.

  • seeleelive (for the love of peanut butter) November 25, 2008, 9:55 pm

Can’t wait to decorate. Sorry to hear you are not a fan of Honey Bunches-we actually have some here at home so I look fwd to try ’em. have a great night Caitlin!!!!!!

  • BOBBI McCORMICK November 25, 2008, 10:18 pm

oooo how do I love to decorate for the holidays?

Well this is the first time I have my own home to decorate, I like to keep it simple, but nice. This year we are getting a REAL tree, I just miss the tree smell! I don’t have too many decorations but when I get home I will be hitting the stores! I did buy a very cute wreath last year at crate and barrel for $10 on sale, that I can’t wait to hang up, as well as some cute stocking hangers:)

  • Mica November 25, 2008, 10:34 pm

Congrats on your painless run. I bet it felt good (uh, painless even?) after your icky one earlier.

This is my first year with an apartment, but I doubt I’ll decorate much since I’m going home for the holidays. Plus, who wants to decorate in the middle of final exams. Sad. 🙁

I’ll just have to look at your pretty decorations and sigh…

  • Erin of Care to Eat November 25, 2008, 11:00 pm

LOL Henry and Annie get stockings too!
I don’t do trees in Texas because they’re all fake. When I put up decor maybe I’ll post a pic just for you! 🙂

  • girlrunningaround November 26, 2008, 5:48 am

I was starving all day today too. Weird.

We usually just put up a Christmas tree and stockings, but we’re not decorating this year (b/c we’ll be on our honeymoon from Christmas to New Years). It felt kinda weird to not decorate.

  • ksgoodeats November 26, 2008, 6:15 am

Congrats on the run, that’s great news!!

Looooove the oozy cheese out of that omelet! For the holidays we decorate quite a bit but it’s not crazy decorations so it’s not too much 🙂

    Happy Wednesday!!

  • Tutu B. November 26, 2008, 6:57 am

Congrats on the run. I know what a great run can do for you! I tend to throw up a few things here and there, I am not a huge decorator!

  • Katie November 26, 2008, 7:51 am

    Hooray for a pain-free run!

    Your house looks so cheery!
